Hey Fallout fans! For those who haven't heard, fonline 2238 went offline and the devs have released the source code. Now the next big hit will be Fonline 2 which will be a revamped/improved version of fonline 2238. I hope you all check it out since beta will release soon! We should all band together on release to get a head start on the Russians.
Hopefully it won't have as many ludicrously levelled russians who are doing their damnedest to REMOVE PLAYER.
Luckily I always managed to evade those who tried to REMOVE CAPITALIST PIG PLAYER. Then again, I spent most of my time in Hub, shoveling shit and moving boxes.
I stopped playing it after a few hours because every god damn time I went to trade in town I got shot and looted by higher level players.
Nexus is at is again. [t]http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/images/50711-1-1372133109.jpg[/t] http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/50711//?
I feel so GODDAMN patriotic right now and I'm not even American.
I stopped playing it after a few hours because every god damn time I went to trade in town I got shot and looted by higher level players.
When I played I threw caution to the wind and went wasteland travelling. Halfway through I found myself at a dead-end wall of three blokes in power armor screaming cryllic. The next thing I knew, I was a bloodsmear.
Oh wow, I never knew how fun melee playthroughs are. I'm not sure why I diden't start one earlier.

yeah [editline]3rd July 2013[/editline] rip
I'm trying to do the "Head of state" quest but Hannibal acts as if the quest never existed. Goddamnit.

Lets name all the things wrong about this picture. [t]http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/images/50757-2-1372523865.jpg[/t]
I don't see it...
That character + it's really uninteresting?
I'm trying to do the "Head of state" quest but Hannibal acts as if the quest never existed. Goddamnit.
Head of State is notoriously broken in many many different aspects. Last five times I've tried to do it, three in FO3 two in TTW, I've: 1: Had Hannibal and his crew just sort of stop when they were supposed to move. 2: Had them go hostile at me for no fucking reason 3: Had them crash the game if I went within visible range of them 4: Fail to start the quest 5: Crash the game repeatedly. What I did to fix number 1 and number 4 is I went to the wiki, got the queststages, and used console commands to force the issue on them. The character isn't wearing a chainmail bikini or using one of those silly anime race mods, so there's nothing objectionable there, and the gun looks like it's fairly reasonable. Matter of fact I think it's a vanilla AMR, but the image is kinda dark and so is my monitor so it's hard to tell. I don't see a single 'mod' active in that pic, if the rifle is indeed a vanilla AMR you could recreate it in a vanilla game with basic console commands. I don't see any problem with the image itself.

Would you guys say that New Vegas is better than 3?
Would you guys say that New Vegas is better than 3?
Better in some ways, less in others.
Would you guys say that New Vegas is better than 3?
In every way except in terms of exploration. The Mojave is pretty boring once you've been through it once.
Its a little kid using a fucking 50 caliber rifle
Its a little kid using a fucking 50 caliber rifle
Can't have kids firing 50 caliber rifles in this game, can we? Now excuse me while I drink away some radiation and become more adept at guns by reading this book real fast.

Course, I can't talk, when I play, my smelly loners always use the Armory Browning M2 standing upright. [editline]3rd July 2013[/editline] You know, I want a .50BMG pistol that immediately cripples your arm and flies out of your grasp upon firing. I also should remake the Dinner Blaster from that FP Tenpenny Tower mod I made ages ago.
I'm assuming the only wrong thing about this picture is because of the child-like face?
I dunno about child like but it's certainly uglier than most Bethbryo faces
Lets name all the things wrong about this picture. [t]http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/images/50757-2-1372523865.jpg[/t]
No trigger discipline.
You know, I want a .50BMG pistol that immediately cripples your arm and flies out of your grasp upon firing.
It won't fly out of your grasp but if you're using The Armory, I made the HHG Arms Armbreaker to be exactly that. It has a script that will cripple your arm if you don't meet the requirements to fire it, with a small chance of doing a bit of damage to your noggin at the same time. You know, cuz the recoil was so strong you bashed your own head with the gun.
No trigger discipline.
...she's firing the gun, it's pretty damn impossible to maintain trigger discipline while firing
Would you guys say that New Vegas is better than 3?
In some ways, yes, I would say that New Vegas is flat out better than Fallout 3. It crashes less (In my experience), is better written, has better characters, more choices, cooler weapons, and despite the fact that there isn't too much change, mechanically it feels better. Yet, I still find myself enjoying Fallout 3 more. I just find it's world so much more engaging, so much more open. Every time I start Fallout 3, I'm not entirely certain what I'm going to do now that I'm out of starterville, but I always know exactly what I'm going to do when I leave goodsprings. (Go south and eventually get to Vegas where all the truly interesting stuff happens). The Exploration just feels so dry in New Vegas, everything is too valuable and scavenging for anything that isn't a mint condition AMR is a waste of time. There is still a TON of stuff I haven't done in New Vegas, but I just can't be bothered. I don't feel like it's worth my time. I don't need money, and I can flatten anything even with all the difficulty mods I can find. The Capital Wasteland is just so much more exiting, so much more fun to explore for me. It feels like an actual post-war wasteland, instead of a third world country. Granted, some people may like the third world country vibe better, but to me, (Probably since Fallout 3 was my first fallout game and I've hardly played the first two) Fallout is about YOU. It's about what you want to do, in a lawless, unorganized wasteland filled with people that you can talk to, help out or horrifically murder at will. It's about lonely hikes through ruined cities, with nothing but bloodthirsty mutants and raiders to keep you company, along with the occasionally town. New Vegas was more about larger scale things. It was less you and more how you are part of things. That's fine, that's great, hell, if it was just like Fallout 3 I'd think it was pretty dumb. There's a lot of rebuilding humanity, things aren't totally fucked, mankind is actually on track to being normal once more. (Logically, after 200 years, it should be. Fallout 3 really should have taken 50 years after the war.) There's law, even if it's not much. It's an actual, functional world with a real economy, real authority and (some) real order. Don't get me wrong, I love New Vegas to DEATH. I've sunk almost 400 hours into it. I still enjoy mowing down bandits and machete wielding linebackers, and I am hard pressed to think of a shoddy, uninteresting character in the Mojave, but Fallout 3 just feels so much more open ended. I find myself enjoying it just a little bit more. Really, it's preference. I haven't played Fallout 1 and 2 enough to know if they are more like 3 or New vegas, so I can't say which one's the odd one out, but I personally prefer the lawless, anarchistic, clusterfuck wasteland. TL;DR: I like Fallout 3 a bit more, but they are pretty much the same in terms of fun. Both are amazing games, and both are well worth the time, and it's really down to what you prefer when it comes to which is better.
Its a little kid using a fucking 50 caliber rifle
So? It's a video game that has absolutely no pretense towards realism. For fuck's sake we're fighting 15 foot tall hulking horrors, flying insects the size of corgis, scorpions the size of a Suburban, can carry a literal arsenal in our packs while running Usain Bolt speeds indefinitely, can bend the very fabric of space time to our will on a whim, where any injury no matter how grievous can be healed by stabbing yourself in the thigh with stimulants and where you can bounce pistol rounds off of your beard and nothing more, all of which done in some sort of magical world where radiation is as likely to grant you fucking immortality as it is to kill you...and yet, you're complaining about a kid firing an anti-materiel rifle?! You really need to think about a few things, broseph. Your irrational hatred of the nexus is annoying, even in an environment where the nexus is mocked regularly. It isn't even hard to find stupid shit actually worth mocking, either, this 'gem' was just sitting there on the front page under 'latest images' when I went there 30 seconds ago.
You're missing it, it's because a kid is firing a .50BMG anti-materiel rifle standing upright, something few fully grown men can do.
Well of course. It's a video game that doesn't even attempt to call itself realistic. If it was a post-apocalyptic simulator, then yeah, that'd be out of place. But it isn't.
You know, I want a .50BMG pistol that immediately cripples your arm and flies out of your grasp upon firing.
Surely it would be trivial to modify the Obnoxious Cicada's scripts to break your arm. It already launches you flying backwards with each shot...and, incidentally, is fucking hilarious to give followers since they never drop it and they're immortal.
