I hated how there wasn't really an end boss to Fallout 3, or even a very climactic moment (besides liberty prime). There wasn't really a storm/infiltrate the enclave base, it was just sortve 'follow mister prime and he'll blow up all the enclave for yas' and then you just sort of walk in, shoot a couple guys and then the general dude just kinda says "eeeh Ima getcha" and then dies because he's just wearing a jacket and you're in power armor

Strength: You collapse a bit of rubble on him Perception: you shoot at some cables that power the suit disabling it Endurance: you hold your ground until the power unit runs dry Charisma: You take cover with your companions and all shot at him Agility: You sneak attack him from behind Intelligence: you hack a few turrets to draw his attention Luck: you charge at him with your giant balls And then it can move onto another section of fighting where you whittle down his health until he is forced to remove the useless scrap that is the power-suit and then you finally kill him You could even have a choice of badass oneliners to pick from based on your karma/skills/reputation/choices you made through the game. Yeah.. that would haven been cool...
I liked the fight against the giant robo scorpion in old world blues, how you could use the environment against it. Of course, if you had the super slam perk like me, you could just smack it repeatedly and keep in stun locked until it died.

Or wait crap, is that the plot of Wasteland 1? That sounds familiar :v:
I was walking around this sewer like place filled to the brim with ghouls and other beasties (I think it was from a mod) in fallout 3 I've been doing pretty well, ghouls make a lot of noise and are quite visible even in the dimly lit sewers. I mean before I've been spooked by them but I'm over my fear of sewer ghouls. so there I am, inspecting the shit out of this sewer. I go round this corner and I see a first aid kit. Great! I walk up a little closer and there's this skeleton laying there out of sight. From my perspective I couldn't see the skeleton, just the aid kit. So when I walk over his foot and the gamebyro physics decide to HURL THE SKELETON IN THE FUCKING AIR i flip my shit fucking skeletons [editline]12th October 2014[/editline] whether it's the mods I have installed or just the general atmosphere but fallout 3 is wayyyyy fucking creepier than new vegas
on a scale of 1-10, how agitated are you
Anyone got any new mods I could try out for Fallout New Vegas besides the usual fair? I'm sort of bored of playing with them now, and need something to revitalise it.
Anyone got any new mods I could try out for Fallout New Vegas besides the usual fair? It's quite funny when you try to do a serious play-through of the game when you are playing as Hatsune Miku. Sure they're not lore friendly, but it's still funny as hell to use them.
I'm getting back int FO2 after a lengthy hiatus from playing it, i want something new. I already have the restoration project and i've done low INT, unarmed based, and gunslinger character builds. Any suggestions towards anything new?
Try systematically murdering every black woman in the game.
Try systematically murdering every black woman in the game.
Why stop there? You should kill races equally, like The Dude.
There's only one black woman in the game as far as I know, and she is Lynette. Lynette is why. Besides, killing everyone on sight would make for a tough game. No car, no companions, no augmentations, infrequent level-ups. I'm actually not sure how you're supposed to get the tanker working if you kill all the Hubologists and the Shi. On top of that, I think murdering everyone in Arroyo before they're on the tanker ends the game, though I haven't tested this.

I'm quite surprised, I've installed a ton of mods with only basic modding knowledge and I've got as far as Boulder City with no noticeable conflicts, graphical errors, game-breaking glitches or corrupt save files.
It's not fucking working, and that FOV slider isn't what I'm after. This is the problem. Did you set it trough the console or via .ini tweaks? You might have to reset it then do the tweaks in the .ini files. Oh and set the files to "read only".
Talking about MZ, I'm currently stuck in some shitty lab portal room. The portal I accidently used is suppost to lead to some kind of lategame sequence, you are not suppost to use it but it glitched for me and I accidently used it prematurely. for the portal to work, you need to activate it. I don't know what I fucking did or broke but I accidently clicked on it and BAM I was in some alien lab. After fighting hordes of shitty enemies armed with shitty weapons, I got to a dead end of the lab. At this point, I decided "oh well guess I'm in the wrong part lets go back to the portal. Got to the portal, clicked E on it: "You cannot use this right now". Are you fucking kidding me? Tried 10 minutes later: "You cannot use this right now." As I stated above, you need to activate some crap to make it function. Yay currently stuck in space. Turns out that it also autosaved at that point, and my last manual save was before I even started MZ. 10/10 Bethesda fuck you. Oh, got a great story from Pitt aswell, remember the part were you have to listen to Mr Ashur makes his speech? I accidently walked out of the talk zone, and got stuck in a loophell of Mr Ashur standing like Jesus in Rio de Janerio. Tried to walk out but a raider told me to fuck off and go back inside. I'm stuck in two broken DLCs in two saves, great fucking job Bethesda 20/10 also GOTY.
Try selecting the thing you needed to activate and entering "activate" in console. Afaik that bypasses all checks the script does and simply activates it. Its worth a whirl
fuck i have the no main menu glitch now
Thought I'd play NV completely differently this time around, so I gave myself the explorer perk right away and I'm gonna focus on exploring rather than obsessively finishing every single quest like I normally do.
the explorer perk is kinda lame though unless you're checking at your map constantly its basically a lamer version of literally any map you could find online if you want to focus on exploring just pick a direction and walk in it. You'll find something eventually.
I've played NV so much already I'd rather just place markers on the map and follow them rather than wander around aimlessly. Shame I can't find a mod to increase the impact bullets have on ragdolls tho. FWE had this setting that made enemies fly farther when killed, it was pretty hilarious [editline]13th October 2014[/editline] okay, probably can't go through primm pass to get to novac asap. deathclaw up in my level 2 10mm pistol equipped face.
I feel like doing a psychotic mass murderer playthrough. FO3 or FONV? [editline]13th October 2014[/editline] Or shit wait I could just use TTW
I've been thinking of playing Fallout 3 again. And wanted to ask. Am I better of with trying to get TTW to work. Or should I just get a shitton of Fallout 3 mods, FWE included?
I've been thinking of playing Fallout 3 again. And wanted to ask. Am I better of with trying to get TTW to work. Or should I just get a shitton of Fallout 3 mods, FWE included?
TTW probably won't crash as much.
TTW probably won't crash as much.
TTW improves FO3's performance so much that its the only way I play it. It gets rid of almost all the stuttering and crashing that I had in the original FO3.
I just downloaded the mod that let me talk House into thinking allying with them is a good idea, seemed more lore friendly, given Houses requirements. First time I went through it though, yeah... I almost couldn't do it.
It's annoying that like 2-3 / 4 factions absolutely require the destruction of the brotherhood, which is one of the cooler factions in the game to join. In the case of Yes Man, it's weird that you can't form a straight up alliance with the Brotherhood if you're a Paladin. It seems like the lucky 38 and the strip would be an ideal brotherhood fortress. armed robot security guards and some really high tech shit in the lucky 38
Today I got kicked out of a casino in New Vegas for the first time in history. The thing was, I was roleplaying as an extremely evil NCR patriot man, so after I cashed out my five thousand chips, I took out my grenade rifle and immediately began spraying the place with 40mm plasma grenades. It was extremely satisfying, especially when a Chairman's torso rocketed into the sky and landed on a blackjack table. Then the Strip started hating me, but I guess you can't have everything.

Currently there's no real way to ally with the BOS without just ignoring them. I think Obsidian either fucked up and forgot to implement some things, or they want the BOS to die off like the Enclave. It's probably a lack of time/laziness, as there's a mod that reenables dialogue that Mr. House has regarding the BOS.
