They live in a post-apocalyptic desert wasteland in houses soaked in radiation for 400 years and until recently couldn't get clean water, these people are not concerned with staying clean and the ones that are, are insane :v:
Well, unlike wasteland doctors, Doc Mitchel came from a sanitized vault.
I decided to play 3 again and man, I miss the animation on your character. I don't know about you guys but I really liked the walking animation from 3. That and I personally think the crippled legs animation was way better. It looked like a limp rather than the "I just shit my pants" walk that's in New Vegas as well as it being visible when you have a weapon equipped. That being said I do like the gun holding animations for two handed rifles in NV, like a lot. What do you guys think?
the crippled animations in 3 are cool
none of the other animations are
I wonder why Bethesda hasn't remade Fallout 1&2 yet. Remaking games seems the popular thing to do these days for publishers who want to bank and crutch on the nostalgia of classic games.
The only problem I can see is trying to populate the empty world between areas. They are going to have to make a ton of content to fill up the empty space between the game's 10 areas, because if they don't, it would be terribly boring.

Bethesda realizes that the fans of the classic fallout games hate bethesda for the direction they took the franchise, so there goes the lucrative nostalgia market.

They could do it in the same style as FO1/2, or just make a new Fallout based on 1 or 2, where everything from story to names are the same, but there's landmarks and shit that you see in the modern Fallouts everywhere that weren't in the originals.
Pro tip to above: wasteland 2

Yeah that too, I just feel like the walk animation in 3 is a lot more pleasant to look at than in NV. I'm a console guy here, is there a lot of different animation mods, if any for NV? It sounds like a dumb question, I know but I'm curious.
I'm intrigued, what's this now?
You can jump and grab an item to avoid falling. Armour is a little easier to grab and keep the surface perpendicular to your feet, so it works best. I have not managed to do this myself.
This speedrun uses it:
http://speeddemosarchive.com/Fallout3.html
It is used at 15:27 to get over the walls of the Citadel instead of walking all the way to Vault 112. A much easier, faster and lamer trick was discovered recently where you save and reload the game until you're through the wall.
If there's someone up on a high, unreachable ledge, you can still punch them in the face using this exploit. Fuck you, Stockholm.

They could have the overworld be the map style movement like from 1 and 2, then the actual worldspaces be 3 dimensional and more the style of 3 and NV.
Are we talking about a Bethbryo remake or like a remake in the vein of XCOM?

That's really useful, I'll have to remember that one.

The couriers clothes were probably filthy, and I wouldn't want to be operated on in my bloody, dirty clothes
But that didn't explain why he waits until you are done being interviewed to give you clothes.
It's especially jarring because I always assumed that when not wearing clothes, your character is intended to be naked in game, but obviously Bethesda wouldn't be allowed to do that.

Snipers and rocketeers on rooftops and balconies (Seward Square and Megaton come to mind) can be beaten using the armour levitation exploit.

Alternatively you can use tcl and roleplay as a flying space wizard

nv's bad graphics really lend itself to the pixel density/cel-shaders
Mechanically speaking, what would the effect of 100 med-x used at once be?
Mechanically speaking, what would the effect of 100 med-x used at once be?
in game? +25 DR
in reality?
According to the Powder Ganger, Boxcars, 15 hits of Med-X is more than enough to kill a man.

in game? +25 DR
But for how long?
4 minutes
well actually I don't know if chems stack duration
it'd be 100*4 = 400 minutes = 8.33 days in fallout time

After which you would get you 1100 chips with which to buy MORE med-x!
Please tell me how you did that. I love to make new games look like doom. Just imagine when you get a minigun and the bloody mess perk!
yeah it looks pretty much exactly how you'd expect when doing that, the ridiculous gore and blood splatters in this game look stylized (and since you're missing a lot of detail serve the purpose of letting you know you hit them) instead of stupid. enb shaders with cel shading/anti aliasing/pixel density modifiers, plus fook to zoom the ironsights out so the guns are just centered, nevada skies on with the winter module enabled, and a purple palette swap for the entire game so everything's not bright orange even though it's snowing
[editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
it's like, when you and 5 other ncr dudes mow down 30 fiends and you try to talk to one of them and all they can say is "PATROLLING THE MOJAVE ALMOST MAKES YOU WISH FOR A NUCLEAR WINTER, HUH" for the five hundredth time it seems ironic on both counts and like a quirky 90's game and not just shit

i really liked the way this sign looked with the filters on, swinging back and forth. didn't get captured so well in the screenshot but it felt like the title menu for a 90's game

So, what's your opinion about Wasteland 2? I know this is FO thread, i want to know the opinions about it from people who played and enjoyed the first 2 Fallouts
So, what's your opinion about Wasteland 2? I know this is FO thread, i want to know the opinions about it from people who played and enjoyed the first 2 Fallouts
I don't have it, but a bunch of friends who I do know are Fallout fans did very much enjoy it and wouldn't shut up about it for a week or two.
I was a bit disappointed in Wasteland 2, but mind you it's likely because I hadn't played wasteland 1 and didn't know what I was in for. Was expecting modernized Fallout 2 and got modernized Wasteland :v:
In Fallout terms, Wasteland 2 plays more like Fallout Tactics than Fallout IMO. It's got the Fallout setting and combat, but the actual Fallout role-playing world interaction really isn't there, much like fallout tactics. Like tactics, most of the game is centered around combat, and there aren't really many play-styles that don't involve gunning shit up. You're a desert ranger and your job is that of a desert ranger, basically.
Fallout 1/2 have a lot to do with engaging with factions, working for or against gangs and criminals, exploring populated urban settings, etc; wheras Wasteland 2 is far more "hero-centric" in the sense that there's a lot of unavoidable combat and most of the quests don't have much wiggle room for being a complete bastard driven by self-interest.
I was at the wedding in Rivet City and I saw this lady walk in...

Also, I haven't started playing New Vegas yet even though I've owned it for a couple years. I was almost done with Fallout 3 when I realized I actually do have the DLC, so right now I'm getting my ass kicked in Point Lookout. Fun times.
