I got it from there, downloaded the zip, but there's no exe. anywhere. I feel like such an amatuer
Which link did you click? I downloaded it myself just now to make sure nvse_loader.exe was there, and it worked for me. [sp]please note that at this point i'm just sputtering thoughts out i have no idea what's wrong[/sp]
It's probably me having no idea what I'm doing, sorry. I took your advice and downloaded FMM, and I might redownload the script extendor again. [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] When I open the 7-Zip file, it just has a file named "Lang"

[editline]4th November 2014[/editline] When I open the 7-Zip file, it just has a file named "Lang"
There isn't a single file with that name in the .7z... you're sure you clicked this link? Not sure what else you could be clicking, but I don't know what else to think.
Download (latest version 4.5b7): http://nvse.silverlock.org/download/nvse_4_5_beta7.7z
The .7z contains a folder named nvse_4_5_beta7 which has all the needed files. Maybe you need to use Winrar or something?
That's gotta be it, I was just downloading the Zip file. [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] I actually don't think I have winrar, haha
small 60fps test
Can I just say that was actually kind of depressing in a way. :v:
Yeah I remember now, I tried to avoid Winrar because I don't have any money to buy it.
Yeah I remember now, I tried to avoid Winrar because I don't have any money to buy it.
Pretty sure all that happens if you don't buy it is annoying messages pop up to tell you to buy it every time it launches.
Okay I'm slowly making progress, just thought I'd update you guys. [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] Okay, so I put "nvse_4_5_beta7" in the Add FOMod and activated it, and it told me "The Mod Successfully Activated". Is that good?

It can be made into a fomod, but really that's completely unnecessary, just drop what the folder in the .7z contains into the same file as FalloutNV.exe (look in steamapps/common/FalloutNV) I just told you about the fomod installation because I wasn't sure what you meant by not being able to find the files, and thought you'd found some unofficial download that had it as a fomod or something.
Yeah I remember now, I tried to avoid Winrar because I don't have any money to buy it.
WinRAR is nag ware. You don't have to buy it if you can withstand its messages. WinRAR can play audio files without errors, unlike 7zip. That's the one of the reason I keep WinRAR, plus 7zip doesn't have shell integration with Windows 8.1. On another note, make sure that you have allocated enough VRAM (Virtual Memory) or New Vegas will lag badly when you put HQ Mods in. I didn't, and after installing 100 mods, NV started to lag so much that it was unbearable. Just found out this today. [editline][/editline] New Vegas was using 1.5 GB of virtual memory. I have around 6 GB of RAM.

I'm not really sure what to add to the Fallout exe. [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] This sounds like a big mess, I'm sorry guys.

[editline]4th November 2014[/editline] This sounds like a big mess, I'm sorry guys.
You're not doing anything to FalloutNV.exe, NVSE just goes in the same folder as it. Not sure why there'd be no .7z though, that's what that link is to.
I'm following the video Excalibuurr posted. Now all my nsve files are in the fallout folder with Fallout.exe [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] So now the script extender is all set?
How would I go about checking that?
Windows 7 > Right Click Computer>Properties>Advanced System Settings>Advanced. Under Performance, click Settings. Under the Advance Tab of Performance Options>Change... Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives. Click the root drive where your NV installation is, then click the radio button for Custom Size. Usually the size should be 1.5 times the amount of RAM, but I put 2048 for initial size, which = 2GB, and for max: 6144 or 6GB. Windows 8/8.1, right click on the bottom left corner and select system. Pretty much the same as Windows 7 afterwards. Other OSes, I don't know.
I'm doing everything except being able to find root drive [editline]5th November 2014[/editline] Update: I got it working! I have MM installed and I'm looking at a tutorial for project Nevada! I'm so happy! I never thought I'd be able to do this so soon! Thank you so much everyone who's helped me!
Ah well, thank you all for helping me I really appreciate it! I guess to keep the flow going what are your guys' favorite/memorable mods?
Someguy2000, makes amazing quest mods. Very professional writing and voice acting.
Someguy2000, makes amazing quest mods. Very professional writing and voice acting.
The voice acting is good, but some of it is the typical mic-blower and some guys who didn't even try
So apparently "Fallout: Shadow of Boston" was just apparently trademarked. I'll keep my mind open, but I won't be surprised if it's another hoax or something.
So apparently "Fallout: Shadow of Boston" was just apparently trademarked. I'll keep my mind open, but I won't be surprised if it's another hoax or something.
It probably is, seeing as the last one (Survivor2248 or something) was about Boston as well. Or maybe... Maybe that was the truth?[sp]Probably not.[/sp] I goddamn wish this was a real thing this time though!
Let's remember, the fact that it could take place is Boston was already well known because Beth was spotted there getting pics and shit for "something".
Is there any mod that replaces the walking animation with the one from FO3?
Can't wait to eat Mirelurk Chowder. [sp]I know Mirelurks are crabs, but close enough. [/sp]v:v:v After a quick lookup, Chowdah is really not the term I should use.
I remember I decided to play 3 again after binge playing NV and man I forgot how alien the Mirelurks looked, I love it.

Speaking of series, has anyone seen that one New Vegas web series Nuka Stories or something like that? I saw a couple of episodes about a year ago and it seemed nice.
plus 7zip doesn't have shell integration with Windows 8.1.
i realize you've probably uninstalled 7zip by now but did you try explicitly running as administrator? 7zip isn't smart enough to elevate itself for some reason and I can't imagine shell extensions have changed all that much between win7 and win8

It's clearly a troll. I mean "Shadow of Boston"? Come on.
