it wasn't that great of a dlc, and i couldn't have cared less for anything going on, but now i will decorate my lucky 38 suite with gold.
i do enjoy how these dlcs have characters who tie together. that's another thing that annoyed me about dead money, like [sp]elijah was dead, why the hell would christine stay, knowing her mission was accomplished if the sierra madre was now a waste of space? it would be neat to have her as a follower in the mojave.[/sp] that being said i am now looking forward to honest hearts and the lonesome road.
speaking of, which should i do first?

so that's what turbo is for? i've had one all this time and haven't thought of using it
Do them in the order of release. Dead Money, then Honest Hearts, then Old World Blues, and end with Lonesome Road.
if he literally doesnt understand why christine stays at the sierra madre do you think he actually cares about dlc order
if he literally doesnt understand why christine stays at the sierra madre do you think he actually cares about dlc order
Honestly I still don't understand why, I've always thought it was kind of silly. And besides, he asked. :v:

Honestly, Honest Hearts you can do really anytime, and I'd argue you could do OWB first before doing Dead Money. Lonesome Road should pretty much always be done last, though

the theme of the DLC is letting go of the past, right? (well the whole game's is, but DM literally has LET GO in giant letters on a wall just before the penultimate showdown iirc)
well, *her* past is pursuing Elijah. And once that's done, she sets out to more or less watch over and protect people from the Sierra Madre - from the past. Even though she's got no chance of going back to the BoS after the Elijah thing, she still sets out to do what she still perceives as her mission - which is protecting people from overly advanced or deadly technology. Again, she still can't let go of her own past - but at least now she can do so at her own terms.

note: this might not make much sense. it's half past 2 am

It's like that guy who went through Honest Hearts in 30 minutes by killing everything.
i started an unarmed playthrough since i've never done one
it took me like a minute to kill joe cobb :v:

Isn't Pops that same guy?
legion vs. guy that strapped knifes and other pointy shit to a gauntlet

FLAWLESS VICTORY
[t]http://i.imgur.com/zFrnL0Y.jpg[/t] Anyone know how to fix this?
I keep saying I wanna start a new playthrough I've never done before, but then I remember I still haven't played through all the DLCs. Once I get on break, I need to sit down and finish those, and THEN start a new melee playthrough

Are you wearing any sunglasses?
Are you wearing any sunglasses?
Nope, it happened when coming out of an interior.
Doing annual playthrough.
Whats the best collection of lore friendly weapons at the moment?
I used The Armoury last year but there was just so much stuff, so this year I want to get something smaller that actually ties in with the game.
Isn't Pops that same guy?
aren't we all?
i mean who the fuck doesn't enjoy just going on rampages in these kinds of games at points?
i love to rp and do quests as much as the next couch fucker but there are those days were all i want to do is blast things to pieces.
and no, [sp]i understand why christine stayed at the sierra madre, i'm just saying i don't think there was any purpose since it was basically a ghost town and a ghost casino with a locked up vault and all that, she could have done much more by joining the courier in the mojave.[/sp]
Also there was another mod out there that merged all the sub-sections of the Pipboy status screen into one, can anyone remember the name?
alright, finished dead money
that was meh. kind of a slap in the face dlc.
also, i modded the gold's weight so i could take it all :D, was pretty neat [sp]getting to blast elijah's head off with the hunting shotgun point-blank, but i didn't make it out of the vault in time so i had to do it again and the second time had a shootout with the police pistol.[/sp]
Wow what a bitch move.
Real men carry all the gold over their weight limit and sneak out with it.

Brian Fargo trademarked Van Buren, what the fuuuuck.
For anyone who doesn't know, Van Buren was the codename for Black Isle's canned Fallout 3.

i heard wasteland 2 wasn't that great, but here's to hoping he can do something with it.

Wasteland 2 is awesome what are you on about
Wasteland 2 is good but I wouldn't really compare it in a Fallout context, honestly.
Wasteland in general is more comparable to Fallout: Tactics. It's got the fallout style combat and post apocalypse america setting, but not very much of the fallout world/character interaction or roleplaying.
Van Buren and Wasteland 2 were never intended to be alike, Van Buren would have been a fully fledged fallout game, with the world/character interaction you'd expect from a fallout game. With that in mind I'd expect Brian Fargo could do awesome shit from behind the helm
He's registered the trademark but what could he possibly do with it?
Honestly I'm just waiting for New Vegas Bounties 3 and any news on the future of Fallout
Whatever Bethesda do next I just hope they bring out a decent engine upgrade.
Even though Skyrim did look better it still felt the same.
However if that means some form of restriction on modding then idk man.

I'm a big fan of the original weapon designs and this guy just nails them.

At minimum upgrade to the new gamebryo engine.
I suggest upgrading to new gamebryo engine because of the improvements.

Deferred lighting is what we need.
Been playing some Fallout 3. Found Dogmeat again, damn, he's such a cute and awesome companion. And he also has an incredible backstory.

Technically Dogmeat in fallout 1 and 2 are the same dog (Even though that makes no sense, he's supposed to be an easteregg), but Dogmeat in 3 is the original Dogmeat's descendent.
The original died by running into a force field.

Whatever Bethesda is using ceased to be gamebryo long ago when they modified it to hell and back. Most of those improvements are already in creation engine and have been in the engine since oblivion.
Really the things creation needs is real* HDR/Tonemapping, built-in SSAO, and some proper variance/GPU-rendered shadows. Skyrim's graphic engine was just very bare-bones, almost no post-processing whatsoever, and the shadows suck which is why it looks so bland and grey.
An updated shader system conforming to new pbr stanards would also be really cool since it tends to force a higher bare minimum stanard for content realism, but I doubt bethesda will be on the ball with that. Oblivion and Morrowind were fairly cutting edge for their time but I think Bethesda has fallen the tech curve in recent years.
