That's the real treasure - not that heavy-as-fuck gold, the thousands and thousands of pre-war dollars that weigh absolutely nothing that you can prance out with.
not to mention infinite stimpaks
That's the real treasure - not that heavy-as-fuck gold, the thousands and thousands of pre-war dollars that weigh absolutely nothing that you can prance out with.
That can be sold as and when needed to any and all merchants in the game. Instead of only selling one block every three or so days to a dlc merchant or making a loss buying guns and armour
i made another house mod http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57738/?
Use the Unified HUD Project.
Done, tried it and it works well, thanks.
I wonder why people like Fallout so much, so I ended up buying New Vegas.
good choice [sp]although i feel as if Fo3 has more to do but w/e[/sp]
I wonder why people like Fallout so much, so I ended up buying New Vegas.
You might have a lot of questions, since there's 4 or 5 other games that came prior, I think. Fallouts 1 and 2 (the isometric sprite games from the 90s), Fallout: Tactics (which is only somewhat canon), Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (we do not speak of this), and Fallout 3 (the one made by Bethesda and not the original devs), in addition to the unfinished Fallout Van Buren (what was going to be Fallout 3 by the original devs) and Fallout Extreme (idk anything about this other than it's very questionably canon). Anyway, there's a lot of backstory if you're starting with New Vegas.
if you get confused about something in the lore, just ask us, we're pretty much all loremasters
I wonder why people like Fallout so much, so I ended up buying New Vegas.
You will have lots of questions. There were 4 games out(Fallout: BoS, what's that?). Fallout 1 and 2(and maybe Tactics, sorry, am a bit new on it) use isometric and is turn-based. If you want/can, try playing these first. Fallout 3 is the 2nd newest one, I would recommend getting the GOTY version because it holds all its DLC, it changed from isometric turn-based to real-time first/third person. It takes place in Washington D.C, or rather, the ruins of it. This is generally more open-ended and can be played after beating it(if you have Broken Steel). New Vegas is the newest(currently) and does have references to the previous games. Hopefully you got Ultimate Edition(it has all DLC). You will soon have a choice to decide whether to work with a person on the screen who is [sp]actually at least 200 years old and in a life-extending chamber[/sp], the Legion(a group of slavers based off of the Romans), the New California Republic(the republic from the west and the somewhat "good" choice), or yourself. Generally, people would work for anyone except the slavers.
good choice [sp]although i feel as if Fo3 has more to do but w/e[/sp]
I'm fucking sick of reading this shit every couple of weeks. Fallout 3 has about half the content of New Vegas, slightly more than half in some areas.
FO:BoS was a top down shooter on the original xbox that apparently sucked and had basically nothing to do with the rest of the series other than branding. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline]
I'm fucking sick of reading this shit every couple of weeks. Fallout 3 has about half the content of New Vegas, slightly more than half in some areas.
Half of the stuff "to do" in FO3 is fetch quests with minimal plot, too.
My favorite part about FO3 was [sp]the little "1950s retro" neighborhood that was full of cannibals[/sp] FO3 just really excelled in the small, insignificant stuff like that.
And the old grandpa who no one believes.
I'm fucking sick of reading this shit every couple of weeks.
I wonder why people like Fallout so much, so I ended up buying New Vegas.
just remember that the overall main quest isn't all that great (a problem with a lot of bethesda games), it's really the side content and the modding capabilities (you best be playing vanilla on your first run though) that makes the game. same goes for 3.

Ah, the FO3 vs FNV arguments begin anew. Not like there's anything else worth talking about until Bethesda announces a fucking new Fallout game.
Keep in mind that there's a complete list of games in the OP.
Today's session involves failed hacking of schoolhouse's computer and being mauled twice by a Deathclaw I'm trying to kill. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline] And then, I got nowhere else to go and I'm still level 3, right now, I'm heading to the prison but I gotta stop for the day.
Figured i'd get FO3 on Steam, since it was so cheap and contained all the DLC, and play TTW. Anything I should keep note of other than the potential plethora of mod incompatibilities?

Well, that's not gonna happen. You might as well go directly North if you are that foolhardy.
You are seriously trying to kill a Deathclaw at level 3 with the starting equipment from Goodsprings? Well, that's not gonna happen.
new vegas is not a bethesda game
Technically, it is. It's not a Bethesda Games Studios produced game, but it was published by Bethesda. So New Vegas is a Bethesda and Obsidian game.
you know, i wonder. does the ghoul mask from fo3 work in new vegas if you travel to it in ttw?
Technically, it is. It's not a Bethesda Games Studios produced game, but it was published by Bethesda. So New Vegas is a Bethesda and Obsidian game.
Yeah, but it's like saying Alpha Protocol was a SEGA game.
Yeah, but it's like saying Alpha Protocol was a SEGA game.
That's why we don't say Alpha Protocol is a SEGA game, we say its an Obsidian and SEGA game. Read my damn post! I said that New Vegas was made by Obsidian and Bethesda. I never said that it was made by Beth only. (Even though we don't want to say that SEGA or Beth had a hand in these game. That's why I just say that New Vegas is an Obsidian game.)
Technically, it is. It's not a Bethesda Games Studios produced game, but it was published by Bethesda. So New Vegas is a Bethesda and Obsidian game.
Well yeah, it's not like you're wrong, but nobody ever calls it a "Obsidian and Bethesda" game. Nobody ever calls Halo a Bungie and Microsoft game and nobody ever calls DA: Inquisition a Bioware and Electronic Arts game. Why make it more complicated than it has to be.
Fallout NV is a bethbryo game. It has the engine of a bethesda game, plays like a bethesda game and has the mechanics of one. But Obsidian made the game and thus it has the design and writing of an Obsidian game. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline] I only consider it as a bethesda game in the context of comparing it to other bethesda games just because of how similar they all are

The publisher/studio thing does matter, for example nobody calls COD games 'Sledgehammer' or 'Infinity Ward' or whatever games, they call them Activision, but Obsidian doesn't actually belong to a studio - they're sort of freelancers, I guess? it is kinda complicated but if it's an Obsidian game people call it an Obsidian game, that's basically what I'm getting at.
