Don't mean to ask dumb questions but I need a quick refresher with something. The outcasts recently turned hostile to me without me provoking them and I'd like to do the quest that has you turning tech into them. I remember something existing that if you waited a week or so factions would cease to be hostile to you but that may have been BoS exclusive due to story reasons.
Should the Outcasts stop being hostile if I wait a week or am I going to have to reload an earlier save?
IF you're playing FO3 in FO3 then yeah, wait 72 hours and they'll stop being pissy little bitches.
thats for pussies
You don't have much of a choice when you're missing two limbs and your face is in another zip code. :v:
I wanna buy Fallout 3 because I prefer its setting and shit but I feel like I'd miss the weapon mods, certain weapons and the better gunplay of New Vegas
just get tale of two wastelands
[editline]9th July 2013[/editline]
i'd love georgia
Imagine hearing ghouls talk in a southern accent
10/10 would buy
Or florida, that'd be cool.
Point Lookout had that general region, but I didn't much like it. Much too grey and washed out and everything felt moist.

I did the full week thing and lo' and behold after a week of sitting in my dingy Megaton house with my only human contact being a single random visit from Paladin Hoss after he teleported into my bedroom (I swear to god if he steals anything out of my locker full of amazing loot I'll smash him) I went and paid the outcasts a visit, who were still mad at me. Jumped back a few saves until I finally found one where they weren't hostile. Lost about 2 hours of gameplay and I'll have to redo the Anchorage DLC but I'm not dealing with a bunch of perma-pissed off outcast patrols. Still not sure what exactly caused them to become hostile but I'm just going with some kind of glitch considering they didn't calm down after 72 hours.

the outcasts are supposed to try and shoot you in the back at the end.
I think New Orleans would be pretty cool.
Finally started back New Vegas back where I left off. Just started Old World Blues.
the outcasts are supposed to try and shoot you in the back at the end.
AT which time you then shoot them all in the dick and nick their baked beans.

Buy GOTY For PC, then install Tale of Two Wastelands. Bam. Done. NV's gameplay, 3's setting and shit.
If they were going to make one in New York, the one thing they must get right is the skyscrapers, fighting in those would be a blast.
Parts of Detroit could be modelled 1:1 and they'd fit right in :v:
Can you guys recommend some mods that make the game harder? I already have Project Nevada's Rebalance.
I'd love a Fallout based in Alaska with maybe a bit of Canada. NCR gotta have that nuclear winter.
the outcasts are supposed to try and shoot you in the back at the end.
I'm talking about normal outcasts. Specifically the patrols and the ones located at Fort Independence.

I want someone to remake Anchorage from the ground up to have less awful mechanics and writing with the same visuals.
The heavy hitter perk(i think that's what it called) + a character with only 1 luck works well.
Fuck crits
I have 8 endurance, 8 strength, and 8 charisma. I was going to join the legion, but I can't bring myself to like them. Someone help me like the legion, thanks.
Well, there's the Burned Man and Ulysses. They were with the Legion and they are pretty cool. So I guess Legion is pretty cool. Maybe.
Well, burned man changed because of what legion did, but still.
Ok, I'll do it for burned man.
Well, there's the Burned Man and Ulysses. They were with the Legion and they are pretty cool. So I guess Legion is pretty cool. Maybe.
But they both hate the legion now.

It's just a Roman cosplaying fandom that will die once Caesar pulls the plug.
Though who am I to criticize them since I associate myself with people dressed in shit-colored jackets with soup bowls on their heads? Currently they have quite terrible leaders.
Should I just let Kimball die? It's not like he's a really good president :v:
It's just a shame the the Legion as it is in NV is a rush job. Half the content planned for them was never made in time (The player was supposed to be able to travel to Arizona.) and Obsidian had to make them straight out evil as they didn't have the time to properly flesh them out.
It doesn't really help that the only real benefit you get from siding with the Legion is a pair of sunglasses that increase your luck.
Tried rescuing all the Project Purity scientists in my new FO3 run
Don't give Daniel Agincourt a weapon or he'll ruin your whole day

I find it hard to roleplay as anything other than James's child in Fallout 3. Not like Fallout: New Vegas where I can roleplay nearly any sort of character that chould have the Courier-ness as a cover or a side-thing.
Or florida, that'd be cool.
my first thought was 'yeah this could be cool'
but then i remembered if it's in southern florida there's gonna be fuckloads of hugeass mutated bugs and animals in the everglades, irradiated cartels and the likes in miami etc and it wouldn't be in north florida because there's nothing really special here
i think we'll go with chicago to avoid point lookout v2
I know, but they are the best examples of Legion. Maybe the only good examples of Legion.
Legion just sucks.
The Legion is really cool because of how fucking good they are at creating stable settlements. Apparently everything east of the Mojave is amazing because the Legion ability to govern and protect their lands.

Replacing one group of raiders with another.

There's still the problem that the whole group will splinter back into tribes after Caesar dies, because the legionaries follow him rather than his ideals.
Since he advertised himself as the Son of Mars, legionaries will probably dislike the new leader because it's not Son of the Mars. :v:

Yeah with the side effect of being a literal horde of raping misogynists who's idea of a renewable source of income is "SLAVERY ERRYDAY".
The Legion is "stable" because they have numbers and a messiah complex towards Caesar. The moment he dies, or they realize he's built the entire Nation on lies, the whole thing falls apart. Then everything east of the Colorado will be like the Capital Wasteland, only with 10x as many Raiders that happen to be dressed in football pads trying to emulate a culture they don't understand.
I think there's a disturbing pattern developing with the two primary factions in Bethesda games, the the lawful good guys are the only ones worth siding with because the alternative is uninteresting/unrelatable and their goals are FUBAR.
Because some people like playing transparantly evil characters, or something. I dunno.
If Obsidian had more time to work on NV they would probably be able to make Caesar's Legion into in actual faction instead of "Enclave that you can join" faction.

Honestly, it doesn't matter how much development they get, joining or supporting them is unjustifiable.

Probably because the first hour of the game is spent in the vault with James and every story quest once you leave is about finding him or finishing his work.
New Vegas' story is basically "You were a courier and some dude shot you in the face. If I were you I'd want revenge, but whatever".

Yeah, basically. So fewer blanks filled in with The Courier than The Lone Wanderer.
