I bought the GOTY and Ultimate editions of NV and FO3 at the last summer sale. I've already been through the DLC for fallout 3 several times (just not legally) and I'll be happy to go through them again, especially Point Lookout. The Pitt was great but its tendency to outright break melee combat because of all the perks you get was a bit annoying. All the stuff it adds is great though.
Never tried any of the NV DLCs before though. Really looking forward to trying them out as soon as I get on my good PC (I'm on a shitty netbook right now). What's a good DLC to start with ?

You probably want to start with Old World Blues.

no, play them in order of release
I wish the game would have stressed that. A lot of the dialog assumes you're doing that in OWB so...
I've finished OWB and HH so far, in that order. Going to do DM then LR next.
RIP Toejam and Earl, best radroach and gecko companions ever.
Though all of their limbs were totally obliterated, they never died in vain while fighting the dastardly bastardly legionaries.
I did read the list I did play the mod. In FO3. For like five days straight.
"Hey Just Cause 2 is bad. I know, I played Just Cause 1 for five days."

gotta replay NV sometime, it's not as if it's annoying to get back into either since they don't keep you in a tutorial level for 2 hours like bethesda do
bethesda thought Fallout would make a good JRPG but they ran out of content and mediocre ideas
Does anyone here use any ENBs for NV/F3? If so, which is the "best" one (According to you obviously). I'm currently using the "ENB of the apocalypse" one but it's a bit meh.
I like Millenia's ENB but I can never fix the AO transparency bug.

The evil plans of Father Cornstock and his corn-worshiping desires to cleanse the sodom below are stopped. The party evacuates the town of Skyland before being detected, while being given a handy little holodisk with supr sekrit Commonwealth tech cache locations on it. They pass through a group of friendly dakka-lovin' muties and back to their Highwayman. While traveling they encounter the friendly neighborhood ork Gorgutz. After some trading, they decline his offer for a race, as he speeds off on his frankenorkdakkamakerwarwagon vehicle with 17 fire-spewing mufflers. They then encounter a tank with drills for treads - The Shagohad. An eyepatch-wearing, bandana-displaying man named Snake appears, and seems to have some history with the party's own Renaldo Ocelot. Ocelot and Snake get into a heated fistfight while the other party members neutralize Volgin and his Shagohad.
Snake is victorious in the battle. Ocelot is dead.
Then, a strange tune is heard being sung. A strange, and mysteriously catchy tune...
"CMON AND SLAM, AND WELCOME TO THE JAM"
And in walks a man bouncing a ball. End session.
dead money is one of the best; the game design veers into 'frustrating' territory once or twice but it's really good
[editline]28th July 2013[/editline]
basically with anything play/watch them in order of release
e.g. the MGS games are packed with references and shit to previous games in the series, even if the actual game takes place decades before
and if you watched the star wars films from episode 1 it'd ruin the twist of episode 5!
yea but you shouldn't watch episode 1 of star wars anyways
i bought fallout 3 on the summersale, and i am loving it, i just crafted a fire sword
My fallout 3 has a problem where Steam isn't counting it's time.

This guy makes amazing mods.
Amazing or not, that is not at all how Rad-Away works.
Considering some of the shit people in the wasteland put into their bodies drinking fluid intended to be pumped into the bloodstream to purge the body of radiation like it was a pack of capri sun isn't that out of the norm.
In all seriousness though it'd probably look better if the IV tube was attached to the neck or maybe trailed down under the collar of the shirt.
Maybe he's got a vape in that gas mask.

I always wondered whether or not you were supposed to inject it or do... shall we say, other things, with it.

Definitely not 'other things.' In the isometric games, the icon shows an IV tube and needle. It also doesn't work instantly, but it does work pretty damn quick.

old world blues, only because its funny and the rest are very cerial, and siera madre is damn hard to do without some perks from OWB

You'd be better off having the bag on your back and the needle in your arm, you generally don't inject into arteries.

To be fairly honest New Vegas felt like the tutorial went from Goodsprings to Novac and the game only actually starts when you meet the ghouls at that rocket factory.
Anyone know of a mod that adds a flat cap, or a selection of them, to New Vegas?
Since there is no actual way to remove radiation from your body I just thought the radaway was for swapping your radiated bodily fluids to something fresher. How? What? I do not know.
RadAway is an intravenous chemical solution that bonds with radiation particles and passes them through your system. It takes time to work, and is also a potent diuretic. It cannot be used to keep away radiation when entering radioactive areas like Rad-X, but instead is used after receiving radiation to rid yourself of some of it.
It has several adverse effects, most notably headaches, stomach pains, and hair loss.

u poop rads
I had a rather interesting journey to Mojave Outpost today. I've been playing with PN: Rebalance as well as this overhaul that makes the wildlife a bit tougher. I'm using a speech character, so I stop myself from picking up the stronger guns to make things challenging. I'm also using a mod that adds NCR patrols on certain roads. Also for the sake of pacing I walk instead of jogging everywhere.
Anyhow, I had just barely survived Primm, having both the chest and right arm crippled, and was on my way up to the Outpost to get Meyers his pardon. I avoided the Jackal stronghold in the police station and kept going normally up until just before Nipton Road Reststop. I hear some gunfire up ahead, so I figure that the NCR troopers stationed ahead must be dealing with some radscorpions. No biggie. I'm walking next to a trooper so they can help out if there's any trouble. I was foolish to think this.
I reach the Rest stop with my NCR buddy and was surprised how quiet it was. There were no radscorpions although there was usually a family of them here. However, I look further up the road and I notice the corpses of a squad of NCR troopers.
*skitskitskitskitskitskit*
Oh god. A whole pack of them.
I got my 357 revolver out as my Republic companion took out her 9mm submachine gun. One of the smaller ones snuck up behind me and crippled my left leg. After a few shots (which wasn't much since I had upped the ammo rarity) I realized I would not be able to deal with this threat myself since the gun was unable to do much against the radscorpions increased DT. And so for the next minute or so I limped around in a circle with the whole pack following me hoping the trooper would be able to shoot them off me. Failing this, I decided to abandon the struggle and limp up to the Outpost, hoping that they would lose interest. They were still following me. They did not falter. I slowly limped up the hill, hearing a growing volume of gunfire behind me as troopers and even a travelling caravan got involved in the pest control, only looking back once to see another trooper succumb.
I reach the safety of the Outpost monuments. The gunfire has stopped and I believe myself safe. I talk with Sergeant Kilborn and make my way to the office to get Meyers his pardon. Probably stop by the bar too and hope they have a few doctor's bags handy. However, the cacophony of gunfire reaches my ears as I reach the gate to the inner compound. Ranger Ghost is fleeing the scene, a few soldiers are running towards the monument, guns drawn. I hear the pewing of a gatling laser that could only be from the NCR Sentry Bot posted nearby. What could be causing so much chaos?
Once the firing stops I take a look at the smoking remains in front of the sentry bot.
A radscorpion. It had survived. And it was still following me.
