... I liked Fallout 3...
i dont think anyone is claiming they didnt enjoy fallout 3, it was pretty enjoyable
but the writing was super ass and it mutilated a lot of fallout canon

"Fallout 3 is a good game, but not a good Fallout game."
(except for bad writing)
If only she didn't freak out and go off the deep end after I've 'librated' half of the NCR of its weapons, ammo and stimpaks......
Yeah, her quest ends kinda weird.
But raiding The Silver Rush is pretty fun.

i loved the shit out of fallout 3
the atmosphere was great, gameplay was very enjoyable, it's just the writing was pretty shit
[editline]5th May 2013[/editline]
easily sunk hundreds of hours into it
[editline]5th May 2013[/editline]
I also liked the capital wasteland way more than the mojave
I agree. I found the Mojave to be a boring setting but I liked everything else about New Vegas more than F3.
Yeah, her quest ends kinda weird.

Heh, yeah. I have a habit of taking pretty much everything that isn't nailed down, too...should probably name my Courier "Ms Overencumbered" :v:...Cass doesn't care too much if I clear one place out at a time but if I go on a bender and steal pretty much everything in the New Vegas city limits in one go she starts threatening me until I go on a fiend/feral ghoul killing spree. Somehow it's a bad thing if I steal a bunch of unused ammo, weapons and supplies, but slaughtering drug addicts and ferals wholesale is kosher?

Indeed it is, and it's usually how I get into Vegas proper the first time. Loot everything not nailed down inside Silver Rush, go sell it to Vendortron, and bam. I'm in.

Exploring the Capital Wasteland was hella fun, so much better than the Mojave. But (in my opinion) that's all Fallout 3 did better than New Vegas.

I've never listened to the radio in either games so I can't really say.

Three Dog was a better radio guy, but the way that Mr. New Vegas handles quests and the world and such is a lot better.
Three Dog was a better radio guy, but the way that Mr. New Vegas handles quests and the world and such is a lot better.
I don't think either of them are really better than the other.
Mr. New Vegas had that "listening to the radio in Vegas during the 50s" feel, and Three Dog felt more like listening to an optimistic radio host that had more of a modern personality.
I loved how Mr. New Vegas was voiced by Wayne Newton.
I didn't even notice it until reading it on the wiki.
Same with Matthew Perry voicing Benny.

Three Dog has a personality to begin with. I've always found Mr New Vegas to be a bit on the dull side. Three Dog delivering RNV's scripts would be awesome, though, I do agree that the former focused a bit too much on the player's actions and a bit too little on the wasteland as a whole.

I liked Mr. New Vegas, he sounded like a legit radio host.
I didn't like how 3-Dog magically knew what the fuck you did the moment you did it.
One time I finished the giant ant city quest and the INSTANT I left that fucking place and the "quest completed" thing was still on my screen, the motherfucker was talking about how I saved that kid.

Three Dog was an eccentric survivor of the apocalypse, Mr. New Vegas was smooth and cool (and a prewar robot which definitely added to the lack of personality)
I personally got annoyed hearing Three Dog's ramblings all day every day especially since they repeat and were constantly about me and never about anything else. I never really got to a point where Mr. New Vegas made me go "alright going to change the radio because you're getting on my nerves."

yeah thats why you never meet him in the game
i think House is the one who tells the player, but i dont remember

Yeah, it's coming back to me. My knowledge of House's stuff is a bit dim because last I sided with him was in 2010.
He's not a robot so to speak. He's just [sp] stuck in his basement in a air tight kind of container that keeps him alive so he can do whatever[/sp]
He's not a robot so to speak. He's just [sp] stuck in his basement in a air tight kind of container that keeps him alive so he can do whatever[/sp]
That's Mr. House.
Mr. New Vegas is the robot.

got a source on this? wiki says he's just an AI
[editline]5th May 2013[/editline]
oh wait nvm, yeah i see what you're talking about
That's Mr. House.
Mr. New Vegas is the robot.
i thought he kind of ran that? when i [sp]killed mr. house, that big moniter went offline with a giant ! point.[/sp]
i thought he kind of ran that? when i [sp]killed mr. house, that big moniter went offline with a giant ! point.[/sp]
I think you're confused:
The monitor is how Mr. House communicates with the outside world. His brain, mind, is inside that little shell of a man in the cryogenics in the basement. When you kill that man/shell, the monitor shuts off because he's dead. He's not a robot, he just uses the monitor to talk to people and interact with his environment.
Mr. New Vegas is a full on robot that isn't connected to Mr. House, hence why he operates normally even after House is killed. You never see where Mr. New Vegas is and you can't meet him in game, they justified this by making him a computer A.I. programmed by House's instruction and hidden somewhere in New Vegas.

Thanks, its been a while since i actually have played it.

np i know more about fallout world than i know about real life
Hey guys, did you hear about Mr. New Vegas's new Christmas compilation, Nuclear Winter Wonderland? I think it's on holotape.
Is FOMM or NMM better?
FOMM seems better in terms of organizing mods and whatnot, but NMM has that download manager
Is the nexus mod manager any good?
starting a new fo3 game with a load of mods, and I want to organize the downloads as best as possible
Fallout Mod Manager is hailed as being superior around these parts, but they're both functional and it just comes down to speed and preference.

FOMM. NMM is broken as often as it isn't, and some mods flat out won't work through NMM.
.
I liked Mr. New Vegas, he sounded like a legit radio host.
That's because Wayne Newton is a DJ. Erik Dellums isn't a DJ, so while he did a pretty good job of it drawing inspiration from other DJs(Notably Wolfman Jack), Wayne Newton didn't even have to try.

Not much can be done about that, though. Three Dog's scripts were bugged enough, asking Bethesda to put timers on each one would have been a bad idea entirely.

That's precisely why I like Three Dog so much. I like my DJs energetic, eccentric and excited to be on air, both in real life and in video games.

Installing the right radio extender mod can put 20 songs between each break.

as someone who listens to NPR on his way to work i gotta say the opposite
there is a place in the world for preference
[editline]5th May 2013[/editline]
i found myself listening to enclave radio during F3 more than three dog
