For a finesse/criticals build you really need to be using a weapon that can do aimed shots.
For a finesse/criticals build you really need to be using a weapon that has targetted shots option.
Shotgun does have that option. But i barely ever crit on a headshot, and eye shots are too much of a chance to take, at least at this level.
I want to buy Fallout 3 but it says that they ran out of key. What does this mean?
Does that mean that I can make the purchase but I have to wait for a key to be able to get the game and play it?

Sorry, my mistake.
But, yeah, you won't reliably get crits until level 24? Sniper perk.

If you can find something with a longer range it should be easier to make those head/groin shots since the base hit chance will be higher. Hunting rifle or 14mm pistol should be relatively easy to find I think.
how the ghost people are so absurdly tanky for how many of them there are.
this is fine if you're a melee weapons user, but guns users have a hard time unless they scavenge everywhere for ammo, and if you're an energy weapons user then you get to eat shit
I went through with energy weapons and I was fine. VATS turned out to be surprisingly useful. All you have to do is cripple a limb and they die, pop their head a few times and it's good. As for the holo-rifle having shit all for ammo and durability when you get it, there are codes for weapon repair kits fairly early, and there's a fair few MF cells scattered around the Madre.
Apparently Fallout 3 GOTY is royally fucked, because everyone including me is having problems after buying it during its sale.
First, it was the game not even running. Apparently, I had to install GFWL and that fixed it. The issue now is the game freezes at the point where the two guards attack you after you open the Vault door.
This is getting rather frustrating. Can someone help?
[editline]l[/editline]
Once again, nevermind. I just installed a fuckton of fixes and whatnot, and it's running smoothly.
However, there's still that stupid bar on the top of the screen that says FALLOUT3, how do I get rid of that?
Are you using Windows 7? if so Fallout 3 has horrible problems with it...
Are you using Windows 7? if so Fallout 3 has horrible problems with it...
It does? I've never ever had any problems with Fallout 3 and I've been using it with 7 since forever

What i was more concerned with was that every single time i travel between towns, i have a random encounter that plops me right in the middle of the enemies, where i can't run away, and i have to kill at least one to get out. Wolves are the absolute worst, they surround you then start biting you until you die.

I think it very's from person to person
It does? I've never ever had any problems with Fallout 3 and I've been using it with 7 since forever
The one big problem I had with 3 in windows 7:
Fallout 3 will not work with dual monitors, not in fullscreen at least.
The fix is to get it into borderless windowed mode, although I don't know of a way to do this as well as have the 4gb patch... If anyone does I'd appreciate it.
Well then. I finally started Dead Money, and already I'm disliking it. I was told that something would interfere with my collar, and I didn't hear any of it before it was too late, and now I keep dying and have no idea why.

SMG then. You should be able to kill 1-2 wolves in a burst.

Out of curiosity, are you using Restoration Project?
i just finished dead money and its bad enough to make me want to stop playing Fallout alltogether
what a pile of shit
its basically Fallout meats Half Life 2 Ravenholm... you're by yourself, you have shitty weapons, cant fast travel, you cant sleep so you're a stimpack junky, the cloud and the radio collar means you're forced into a single path nay *single spot* so you fire at the radio *exactly* how the designer wanted it
you spend 5 mins with the companions and their not too likeable either
you have ONE enemy and he sucks and the story doesnt make much sense
rubbish rubbish, i curse the people who did this DLC, shameful effort
i never want to go back there and i hope the other dlcs arent this bad

The radio signals interfere with your collar and cause it to explode after awhile.
The beeping is a warning.
Shoot radios and speakers, basically. You would know this if you went through all the dialog options at the beginning. He only tells you at the beginning of areas in case you didn't.
its still a crappy game mechanic just like the red cloud
I was able to explore the entire game world in DM with no problem.
Please pay attention to dialogue next time.
Dead Money was great, honestly. It was infuriating at some parts simply because of the collar mechanics, but I really enjoyed all of it. It's semi-linear, but as you clear more parts there's a lot more freedom of movement than it seems. Especially after you beat it and don't have your collar anymore.

I honestly liked Dead Money way more than Honest Hearts. Honest Hearts just seemed kinda bland to me.
she is not overpowered, but she is indestructible, invulnerable. and unkillable, i like cats too much to see them get hurt badly, or killed. she will attack any hostiles on sight.
What the fuck even
here's something i just realised
when you deal with Mr. House, Jane may disappear so you cant sell her the snowglobes
if you havent done all the DLC and found all the snowglobes you cant hand them in... so you'll never see them on the stand
hmmm

Just an unofficial patch and the HD resolution patch, so i could fix that color issue without having to turn off explorer every time i booted up the game.
I think my copy of Fallout 2 is broken, i have a fairly average character, with a decent level in barter, and investing in luck and intelligence. I have the traits "gifted" and "finesse". I've maybe gotten 3-4 criticals since i've started playing, stimpaks are $375, it's next to impossible to move between towns as well, since i keep running into raiders, and they all seem to have SMGs and shotguns, while i have a shotgun i stole from the slavers.
Sounds like regular Fallout 2 to me. Go back to the Den and grab a Hunting Rifle, the shotgun's great at close combat but terrible for sniping.

I was too far away from the ham radio to really hear what was being said. When I got close, I exploded.

He's speaking through you Pip-boy, not the radio.

I've long since gotten a hunting rifle, and i had it scoped by Skeeter in Gecko. I'm also a vault city citizen now, and i'm working up the cash to buy the Highwayman.
Got New Vegas on steam for like £3. Thought I'd check out Nexus to find some mods.
I shouldn't have done that.
He's speaking through you Pip-boy, not the radio.
Really? I figured I'd hear him better if it was from the Pip-boy. It sounded like it was coming from somewhere else in the environment.

If you want a great introduction to the modding scene Gohpersvids is a great youtuber to follow :eng101:

Here, let me instruct you what to download:
Project Nevada
A World of Pain
New Vegas Bounties I & II
pretty much anything made by someguy2000
More Perks
NVInteriors
That's pretty much the bare minimum, I can't remember what else you should probably download.
[editline]3rd August 2013[/editline]
Speaking of Nexus, the whole site is a nuisance when it comes to banning. When they ban someone, all of their mods are removed from the site, regardless of whether any of the mods contain illegal content.

How about you send him links to some sample stuff instead of telling him what exactly he has to download? He's a big boy, he can figure out what sounds neatest himself.
