How about you send him links to some sample stuff instead of telling him what exactly he has to download? He's a big boy, he can figure out what sounds neatest himself.
What sounds good isn't always the same as what actually is good. There's nothing wrong with giving recommendations.
What sounds good isn't always the same as what actually is good. There's nothing wrong with giving recommendations.
First, that's part of dealing with mods. Some stuff is awful even though it sounds awesome. Second, he wasn't even giving recommendations. He was telling him to download those things specifically. A recommendation would be what I suggested: "Check these out, they're pretty good: Project Nevada, Signature Armor / Signature Weapons, EVE, and NV Interiors. Project Nevada has a large number of customizable gameplay options, Signature Armor/Weapons lets you pick specific weapons and armor that may not be considered good and give them increased abilities as you play, so you can keep a certain style - wearing a suit may look good, but it's awful for protection. EVE is a visual mod that improves the look of visual effects like explosions, flames and energy weapons. NV Interiors is a cousin to the Fallout 3 version, both of which are aimed at making a lot of the buildings scattered around the wastes enter-able." Furthermore, I highly suggest reading over the full description of ANY perk mod. More Perks has a lot of ridiculous stuff in it mixed in with the good stuff. [editline]3rd August 2013[/editline] Actually I highly suggest reading over the description of any mod at all, but perk mods are especially prone to adding in bad stuff and changing vanilla stuff for no reason.
Seems the nexus is undergoing some downtime, I can't download any files. I suppose I should make sure Project Nevada didn't break anything anyway.
Man, Dead Money is getting really, really tiresome. Do the other DLC's also take away your equipment and lock you in the new area until you're done?
Man, Dead Money is getting really, really tiresome. Do the other DLC's also take away your equipment and lock you in the new area until you're done?
Dead Money is the only one, although Honest Hearts only allows you to keep around 100lbs of equipment on you. OWB and Lonesome Road have no restrictions at all
HH and OWB also lock you into the area until you're done, but their main quests can be blitzed through in a snap if you want. Not exploring (and collecting certain thingies) will affect your ending for OWB though. Also, do the Lobotomites at the sides of the Dome in OWB respawn literally every time you exit The Sink?
So are HH and OWB the only DLC's with exploration? Or is Lonesome Road also open(ish)?
So are HH and OWB the only DLC's with exploration? Or is Lonesome Road also open(ish)?
Lonesome Road is mostly linear, but there's a few areas that you can explore.
Besides, Lonesome Road is gorgeous.
So are HH and OWB the only DLC's with exploration? Or is Lonesome Road also open(ish)?
A lot of Lonesome Road is literally a road on which you are alone. It's awesome though. HH, DM, and OWB all have exploration but you can't return to DM.

Hey guys, happen to know any fix for Fallout 3?For some reason,it crashes every 5 minutes or so. I use Windows 7 32 Bit but i´m not sure this is the problem,as i played a few days ago a non steam copy of it and it barely crashed Thanks in advance.
Fallout 3 has some serious issues with multi-core CPU's, thankfully there's an easy fix: http://fallout3-multicore-crash-fix.blogspot.com/ [editline]3rd August 2013[/editline]
here's something i just realised when you deal with Mr. House, Jane may disappear so you cant sell her the snowglobes if you havent done all the DLC and found all the snowglobes you cant hand them in... so you'll never see them on the stand hmmm
You can still add snowglobes by interacting with the stand after Jane disappears. You won't get the 2,000 cap reward, though.
My processor is single core though :v: I might try it though,as i also use a fix for New Vegas to make it run without any sort of possible audio problem caused by my processor. Thanks!
Wow. I'm almost done with Dead Money (I think), [sp]I saved Dog/God, Christine, had to kill Dean (I wanted to save him),[/sp] and I'm heading up to the suite so I can go in the vault, I get [sp]Christine[/sp] to say the password, enter the elevator, and- It crashes. Fuck me, I really hope it's not caused by the act of going into the vault area itself. Edit: Sorry I spoiled it, I edited the tags in for the sake of anyone else who hasn't played.
It crashes.
Really appreciate the spoiler tags.
Jesus fuck christ, it's like a ghoulified cat. [editline]3rd August 2013[/editline] What the fuck even
I added a comment to the page.
I'm starting to hate the fuck out of Fallout 2, i entered vault 15, dressed in leather armor Mk II, wielding a sniper rifle, with vic toting along to soak up some bullets for me, right off the bat i get instakilled by a bitch with an SMG that does a single burst on me. what the fuck is wrong with this game. I have 10 luck, and not a god damn lucky thing has happened to me. I recently took the More Criticals perk, and i barely ever crit, ever, even with aimed eye shots. I had a hell of a time trying to kill Karla, she had a near 100% hit chance on me and kept getting criticals on me, 2 shots and i would die certainly. EDIT: I've had it, Fallout 2 is probably the most frustrating game i've ever played. I'm currently in New Reno trying to talk to some guy for Zaius in Broken Hills, i get there, some junkie is standing right in front of the door and won't move.

I have gifted and Finesse as my traits, More criticals and Thief as my only two perks. I have Small guns, Steal and Barter picked as tag skills. Small guns is at 130%, Steal is at 60%, Barter at 26%. I have the Leather Armor Mk II, a sniper rifle, a scoped hunting rifle, lots of ammo for those guns, and 5 stimpaks. I guess i may be getting ahead of myself, but i don't understand how i can be in a random encounter, get attacked by bandits, and i take 20 pts of damage per shot from each of the bandits. If i'm lucky, i can run away before i get killed, if i'm unlucky, one of the bandits has an SMG and uses a burst on me, which nearly always kills me right off. Oh, almost forgot, i have 50 HP as well. I'm at level 6 too. My critical chance is 25%, but it doesn't feel like it, i seem to crit only on weaker enemies, and i seem to not crit on the tougher ones that can end me instantly.
Indestructible speakers and hologram guards make my blood fucking boil

On the first few levels you're pretty weak and everyone's bitch, just keep saving and try to beat tougher enemies with some good moves and positioning. For a good crit build you should work your way towards sniper (8PER, 8 AGI, 80% small guns, lvl 24), get that and you'll wreck everything.
Indestructible speakers and hologram guards make my blood fucking boil
They weren't really that big of a deal, except in the final stretch. I got caught by the guards maybe twice, - three times if you count when I died - and popped by non-destructible speakers about the same. Except, uh... in the final stretch. That took me about 3 hours the first night and 2 hours the next day to finish.

I'm down in Broken Hills now, just trying to find stuff to do so i can level up. Strangely, i was level 8 on FO1 when i killed the master and destroyed Mariposa. I had the Turbo Plasma rifle and the hardened power armor. Oddly enough, it was my BB gun that netted me the most kills of super mutants, with nearly every shot being a critical, i could kill anything. I managed to kill everything so much the game actually got boring. EDIT: Had a run-in with some raiders outside of broken hills, this time i managed to kill them quite easily, didn't get hit once, and only had to reload my sniper rifle once. Looks like things are shaping up to be really good now, i need to know how though, what work is there to be done in vault city and that general area? I already became a citizen of vault city, i've already done everything in Gecko, not so sure about Klamath though, and there's a couple of things i can still do in The Den, but i can't find Fred.

I remember having an entire arsenal in the trunk of the highwayman by the time i got to broken hills, so you should probably try to play the game a little more carefully, there's no shame in reading the wiki to try to complete everything.
lel
lol he removed the whole thing
I can't find Rex in the Lucky 38 anymore. I really hope he's not gone for some reason.
Is there ANY good alternative to the Nexus for FNV? All I get are file not founds.
