I am level 29. Any tips for going duo-q on ranked with friend who plays from S1? (He's quite nice, with me as soraka and him ap we always destroy bot so far) I have already been warned about elo hell, but anything else i need to know about?
You mean for ranked, I assume.
Don't start right at 30. Get relatively comfortable with two or three champs per lane/roll, make sure you understand them, then get enough runes to appropriately create a rune page.
Next, you'll need several bottles of hard liquor. This is for the pain.
or start ranked, drop elo, realize how much you suck and take a break from ranked and come back after you learned to play properly and then carry yourself.

That would be me. I've known Akali for years and that was our first ranked game together LOL. She normally does a bit better, but I don't think she'll be joining anymore ranked games any time soon, for obvious reasons.
I'm normally a good support but the entire team was just...not with it that game.
