because the debuff is more powerful since using it straight out of invisibility is disorienting as fuck and it gives AD and attack speed and twitch uses attack speed to apply his poison since alot of his damage comes from expunge now
also why he's unpopular is because he's a tad gimicky, squishy as shit, and his invisibility is counterable (harder to do so now but still counterable, late game fights every team will have at least one oracle's)

twitch is amazing and his teamfight potential is ridiculous
if you manage to get a safe lane for him he is p much the best ranked 5v5 adc

he probably wants to exploit his ult to the limits, as it has a time limit rather than an "ammo" limit

5 man splash damage, piercing bullets and 800 range is gimmicky?
Maybe his ult can be called somewhat gimmicky but hell no. He's just a bit off the "standard" adc path. In that he doesn't have a generic damage and CC skill but is actually a bit different.
Most assists I've ever seen. I got tired of being instant gibbed by Kha'zix, and I didn't mind getting killed by Zac and Maokai. 246 armor.

yes, exactly. He's not a usual pick. He doesn't work the same as traditional adc's and is very dependant on alot of things going well for him to even matter and thus is gimmicky.

he has an escape (stealth and slow), ad (ult) and as (stealth) steroids, hes a pretty classic adc if you ask me
its like saying that sivir is gimmicky because of her shield (shes jsut shitty because of the aa range) or that ezreal is gimmicky because he is more of a caster

I've used it on Sivir and Fiora, hilarious on both of them, but Fiora especially. Your ult has a super short CD, and Burst of Speed is pretty much always up.

I thought that the purpose of an ADC was to be able to melt the enemy team before their ADC melts yours, not kiting the enemy and building tanky.

i'm starting to like maokai more and more, your advice was useful
anything else I should know about him? the one thing i'm super bad at is Dragon control. my support wards to make sure they don't take it (I stole it once the other day) but i'm always too anxious to actually try it, usually because i'm vaguely low on mana and don't have a ton of great spells to hit it with. and it shouldn't, but the thought of auto-attacking on an AP jungler is just weird. like I feel like i should definitely be using my abilities more.
on the note of jungling, is olaf still even vaguely viable as a jungler, or should i not even bother? i played him in aram earlier and forgot how fun he can be.
