Played a ranked game last night (Bronze 3 :[) We were 17-5 ahead at one point and even had Baron on them before their kha ripped us apart. According to lolking he was platinum 5

How so? The only real problem I see is that his E is awkward as the lines start separate and get closer as it travels further.
He doesn't seem too bad just not too interesting.

Actually that's the only thing I like about him lol.
He looks generic, he sounds generic, his weapon is odd and because of that his attack animations are even more odd and unsatisfying, his skillset is simple, unoriginal and problematic(sustain, gapcloser, damage, CC for a no mana champ? lol), some of his animations are bad and/or too simple(just look at his death animations for a perfect example)
Well he seems like he relies on auto attacks rather than the usual trend of being ability based for more recent AD champions.

That means jack shit. You can't fall divisions, but you can lower your elo and therefore you can be diamond and play with bronze players if you lose enough times.

"He's bad design because I don't like him". I guess I shouldn't of expected anything more.
Resourceless sustain is only problematic if it's free. Rengar and Tryndamere's big heals were nerfed because they didn't require you to do anything. All you had to do was use it when you were low, hence why Riot made it so Tryndamere has to get max fury to get the same heal amount. The new champion has to autoattack to trigger the heal so it's hardly problematic.

My opinion, but:
Rare/legacy skins > Everything else. (I think there is an exception or two, though)
How do you make Thresh's grab retract? It doesn't pull it just sits stuck to them then fades.
