It's on the level of three or four games that you can, just by chance, get in a row, and just by chance, have teammates that are really, truly toxic just like you can, by chance, get good teammates that help your team out. It's not really a hell so to speak but a chaotic mess that creates frustrion.
Obviously if you look at, say, 20 games at a time yeah you start climbing I'm talking about these small streaks of losses that you all know what I'm talking about

Just won a game as sona. They got baron but I landed my sona ult on 4 people and then vlad did the same thing and we took out two inhibitors and the nexus turrets and just won the next fight. Sona with randuins and shureyla's... nothing can run away!

Hmm, you're right. DotA has 112 heroes while LoL has 113 champions. Well at least Riot has stopped releasing champions on a strict 2 week schedule.

It keeps people playing and the money flowing
Champions usually only appeal to certain types of people and they're quite expensive. I would think most of their RP income comes from skins.

One of the major problems with LoL is that they have so many champions and they constantly bring out more. They obviously need to because it's how they make their money but it doesn't stop balance being an issue and it makes it even harder for new and veteran players to learn all the champions, their abilities, their omens, their possible positioning, possible builds and cooldowns.
It's obvious even now that there are too many champions simply by looking at the state of the meta and the amount of champions that are flat out just not picked.

Sivir's actually really powerful but just suffers from 3 things, in my opinion:
1) She eats mana for breakfast
2) Her attack range is rather short
3) Her ult stops her movement
