I don't think i've actually wanted to faceapalm before.
Wow.
Should probably facepalm at your inability to read, considering I clarified that in my next fucking post
i have a really hard time playing aggressive in mid lane due to enemy junglers. I feel much more secure in top lane.

But everytime you seem to attempt to "give advice" you follow up with "i'm not really high in ranked so don't take my advice seriously" so I sort of stopped taking you seriously.

Riot should make a Siren champion.
Why? Just for the potential taunt: "I will bait you AND outsmart you... while playing chess"
But seriously Sirens are kinda cool in mythology.
aaaand I lost that ranked game because 3 of us on our team had the same internet provider and kept getting dc'd together, rip in rip

Nami is a siren is she not?
After +1300 normal wins and finally getting a fourth rune page I decided to jump into rank.
Hello community,
Recently, EUW experienced a pretty rough patch of degraded service and downtime, starting around May 18th and continuing off and on until recently. We've identified and mitigated the root cause of the issues, so wanted to take a moment to reflect on the situation a bit and talk about compensation!
As League players ourselves, we're keenly aware of how much it sucks when you can't log in and play. We know how it feels to get booted out of a game, or to lose a ranked game because the servers took a dive. It's intensely frustrating and frankly unacceptable.
The overwhelming growth of the League of Legends community has constantly surprised and humbled us. EUW in particular has been an extremely fast-growing platform, hitting new record peaks on a regular basis. As a result, we're kind of in uncharted territory when it comes to scaling an online game service. Occasionally this means things have broken in unexpected ways. Members of our technology team in Europe and back in Los Angeles have been hard at work to scale the infrastructure behind League of Legends and provide a game experience that meets your expectations.
We also know that communication to players on EUW hasn't been optimal, and that's been a problem for a long time. We're working on a comprehensive plan to improve this for European players (speaking of which, we've got 20 open positions for the community team in Dublin - come help us make the experience better for European players!). As a first step, we'll be holding an AMA on Wednesday with technology leadership at Riot to explain in more detail some of the problems we've found and solved. We will also talk about what goes into running the League of Legends service in Europe. Join us in General Discussion this Wednesday June 5 at 6pm GMT+1 with senior technical Rioters based in Dublin and LA. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the EUW server, come along and join in the conversation right here in General Discussion.
Finally, on the subject of compensation: we'll be giving a 20-win IP boost to all players who encountered issues on EUW between May 18th and May 30th. We hope you accept this as a gesture of apology for not only the most recent server issues, but also for the subpar experience players on EUW have had in recent months.
We want to thank you all for your understanding and for bearing with us as we battled those pesky yordles in our systems.
So im from NA and it still pisses me off
His followup was
Totally understand where you guys are coming from.
This isn’t necessarily going to change how many of you justifiably feel, but I would like to address some misconceptions I’m seeing pop up, just so we’re all on the same page here.
- NA hasn’t received compensation since the last 4-win boost that EUW also received.
- NA has never received 1000 RP for downtime (less than 1% of NA players received this for a week’s worth of lost content). I know it's hard to go against such a long-standing meme but "1000 RP for NA" is somewhat untrue.
- Korea didn’t get 1000 RP, ever.
- Korea’s service issues weren’t minor – they’ve experienced major service disruption and downtime since February of this year. Their most recent episode of downtime was exceptionally bad. To be clear, this was not the same problem experienced on EUW.
The real issue here is truly Silent Night Sona. The decision to give that skin to Korean players was made by our Korean team, and to be honest it was well beyond any compensation Riot’s done previously. The team there didn’t consider how it might be viewed by other League of Legends players around the world, and it was probably a mistake.
There’s another rub: virtually no one in Korea has Silent Night Sona (about 170 people were old school NA players that transferred). In Europe, WAY more people own some of the older, rarer limited edition skins, and giving something like that away would cause even more player pain. That certainly doesn’t make this feel any better, but hopefully you can understand why it’s challenging and we’re kinda between a rock and a hard place.

I want to rant about that being shitty but it just makes me sound incredibly entitled. :/
Btw anyone in EU play on NA servers? Curious to how the ping is.

Yeah I played one game. 'Twas at least a solid 200, I don't remember the exact. Somewhere between 2,5 and 3,5 bars ingame.
[editline]5th June 2013[/editline]
It may not sound like that much but there's a reason I only played one game.
Bah that sounds pretty unplayable then. :x oh well, only wanted to see how much of a difference there was between regions, no biggie.
I don't see why people are SO opposed to playing support.
I played my first Taric game and went 5/0/22
Before you get mad at me for "stealing kills"
My adc went 17/1/16
I either flashed for kills or shattered under turret to stop an escape.
It was a blast. I don't think I'm gonna start maining support but it was definitely a good time.
I get 120-140 ping to NA and it's playable once you get used to it.

i like to actually just leave myself to last pick in normals and fill in, i just dislike support because theirs so little interesting and engaging supports (imho)
I get 120-140 ping to NA and it's playable once you get used to it.
ehh that might not be too bad, ill grab the client and see.
Don't like support because communication is pretty vital for it. I can't type quick so unless I'm in a premade game my ADC just ends up floundering about while i try to set up kills
Oh Draven...you never fails to carry me...

incoming 20-win IP boost for the shit EU-W has been going through

I feel like no matter who I play, I don't do enough damage. Any of the currently "OP" champions (I'm bronze, it shouldn't be that hard to play someone who's "OP" and actually hurt) I just totally fall apart or don't do anything ever.
the first time I played Elise I did well, and then I went 0/9/5 or something.
Last tmie I played Lee Sin I did horrible.
Last time I played Jayce I did horrible.
Last time I played Kha'Zix (someone I actually knew how to play at one point) I did horrible.
about a third of the time I play Ezreal I do horrible (that's bad positioning and map awareness. I know, I need to fix that yesterday)
Tried out Hecarim. Did No damage to anyone the whole game, it was terrible.
what am I doing wrong?
Doing horrible.

Janna. You counter hard engage with hard disengage. Use Q instantly if Leona uses E.
Makes sense now, we would start winning was I was really aggressive. Cait would not be so it failed.
Nami is a siren is she not?
Not really, but I suppose she looks close enough to what one might be. Good point.
Anybody else suddenly getting horrible server lag in the NA servers? I'm located NE US, if it matters. It made my last game unplayable. I'd freeze up for 5 seconds, can't move or anything, and most likely die.
Then, two people didn't understand this and didn't want to surrender, making that game drone on.. My god, it was horrible..
I'm so unmotivated to play ranked anymore, I'm in Bronze I and won so many games to get to like 97 LP, getting small amounts of LP like 3 or 4 per win. Then I won one more game and I get 1 LP for that, then I lose the next 2 games and lost a combined total of 27 LP. I understand the whole MMR thing, but I was getting fine amounts of LP up until 97, any tips or anything? Not sure what to do at this point, extremely irritated.

Win more games than you lose, your MMR will increase and you'll stop getting clamped.
Only thing you can do.

I started like 2-8 in placement because I entered rank immediately at level 30 for some stupid reason, and ever since then I've been trying to climb really hard. I went from like 800 elo to 1130 and this just makes me want to stop trying to climb to be honest. e.e

It only really happens during the laning phase for me, which makes it really hard to last-hit. Whenever I do complain about lag, though, everyone thinks I'm making excuses for feeding.
