At least Silver 5 would be nice. Bronze 1 means you have to go through promotion.
I fear for what Bronze is like considering there's already moments in Silver where I just shake my head at how bad a play was.

Sometimes it's actually ridiculous, I had this Soraka which suicides to the enemy Draven, she died 5 fives in about 15 mins, at the end the Soraka just bought all wards and that was the end of the game.
I got my taste in Bronze, gotta climb back up to Sliver now ;_;

No, it's strictly worse than the completely viable and typical boots with 3 pots start.
Boots 3 pots isn't really the typical starting build anymore.
A couple of mid laners can start that, but other than that it's better to get a sustain item + pots + ward

Nope, he's untargateable.
That gives him an advantage in a 1-1 situation really, but it does mean in teamfights you can just group around him and nuke him as soon as he comes out of it.

on one hand he loses out on a huge amount of damage. on the other hand, he gets bonus gold on champion kills (which will be a lot harder because he's losing out on a huge amount of damage). it's impossible to say without seeing the numbers, but it'd have to be a pretty massive amount of gold to be a buff
