frozen heart is good, iceborn guantlet isnt a bad item on ryze either
banshee's veil is a great item on ryze
you'll want a void staff at some point in the game to kill shit lategame

i've tried bloodthirster/black cleaver first on darius, seems kinda expensive unless you're facerolling

Use it to snipe low health champs, that's what I always use it for. Most of the time if I'm not in a teamfight while I'm playing caitlyn and its late enough in the game, I just take down towers since my attack speed + damage is high enough to do it solo.

Sometimes playing support brings the weirdest situations ever.
Earlier I was playing blitzcrank. Supporting Caitlyn, things go smooth. We push bot a ton, break a tower and decide to roam until enemy botlane decides to get its shit together and start pushing again (wards showed their jungler was babysitting bot like mad).
So we go mid and decide to gank darius (who was wrecking the AP carry's butt at this point).
We end up three against darius. A good hook and he's fucked. We end up bringing him to like not even 15hp, the guy is under exhaust, a slow and he got bumped by Aatrox. Then the weirdest thing happens and no one decides to take the kill. So Caitlyn and Aatrox just sort of walk back and forth, going for a kill and stepping back whenever the other guy tries to take it as some sort of very odd courtesy while Darius slowly walks away, fucked beyond belief. Eventually I start wondering if we'll actually take the kill because the two other retards just keep doing their mating dance and I end up giving Darius a single Auto-attack, E powered punch to end his painful life.
I then got showered in "omg blitzcrank ks don't take kills you're support" messages. That was a really odd moment.

Thought of sticking to League longer for awhile now. Since I want to have more wide experience. Would you guys have suggestions for champions that have require high skill or technique to play? Something maybe like Oriana, that idea.

i was yelling at nunu all game because he literally never bought a ward (ever. i (as swain) ended up buying a sightstone just so we could get vision.) and then when we lost (surprise) i kept it up and he was like "dude you're hurting my feelings. :(" and then i felt bad and after i calmed down i started talking to him and after like 15 minutes i think he understands how support works (he had 0 ranked wins, which made me feel even worse because i may have accidentally ruined ranked for him)
i still feel bad

Zed has a pretty high skill cap and can do some nice stuff mechanically
how can you get all the way into playing ranked and not know you're supposed to get wards

Just did my first ranked match as Ryze mid and dunked the enemy team. Came out at top damage, and literally doubled everyone's damage. Felt good. Got first blood on Fizz(who is a slippery bitch) and then got him again and their jungler Zac when they tried to gank me.
