I actually did that twice when going from Gold to Plat.
I got great teams both times.
Our karthus fed 0/8 Early game, and I penta'd there team as Yi and we still didn't win.

Caseless builds are surprisingly effective. They require more maintenance and care but they tend to stay pretty cool.
