I only noticed the new Riven splash and that's it. I thought that they'd deploy the Lucian assets and everything else now so that they can just balance a few things and flip a switch and bam we got new patch already in our pockets

Focus on defensive mana items and only slighty on AP.

Get Tear, Rod of Ages, Archangels. Depending on what you're playing against, the rest can be AP from there or get a Frozen Heart next.

RoA, Archangels, Frozen Heart, Sorcs/Merc treads, Rylai's, Banshee's. Tanky any deal tons of damage.

optimal start: Faerie charm+Consumables (ex. 4 red sodas, 2 mana pots and a ward)
Build in to tear, and buy rod of ages - Congrats,there's your core
Buy boots whenever the fuck you want, spellpen 90% of the time but you can go defensive if you need it. Mobility boots work too, Ryze is an amazing roamer and you should go and fuck up other lanes often. Apparently CDR boots work too, I haven't tried it.
If you need armor: Frozen Heart, Iceborn Gauntlet works too, zhonyas for mastr trole 2014
If you need MR: Banshee's Veil, maybe Abyssal Scepter
Upgrade your tear in to the mana staff shield thing
Pick up a void staff at some point in the game
Muramana+Iceborn Gauntlet used to be a cool thing to do on ryze, but after the changes, especially muramana being physical now, it's meh
[B]tl;dr[/B] boots, archangels, roa, banshees, frozen heart, void staff = kill everything never die
be sure to buy ryze several times in the shop and take movement speed quints

Whenever I play ryze I tend to build flask, followed by tear and catalyst, and then RoA, finish out with a muramana once the tear finishes. A lot of people don't like muramana ryze, but I prefer it over seraphs.

Even though I prefer Seraphs in the first place due to how much mana you'll have and making use of some AP ratios, but not buying Muramana anymore because it does physical now is stoopid

On Swain, at what point does seraph become better than roa? I've heard people say it theoretically does, but usually I don't buy a tear. I'm still not convinced it's optimal.
