You don't HAVE to spend 5 euros if you don't want to, you can get all champions for free with IP and the things that don't change gameplay are only available through real money purchases.

The only reason to even consider that is for legacy - which has value - but not enough on its own in many cases.
In this case, unlike someone like Urgot who is just niche, Sion is a low attachment character with low counterplay, interaction, and no creative hooks. What I do think could be interesting about Sion isn't his kit, but the idea behind him - a massive, unmovable undead lifesteal tank. That has legs (heh) and can really be developed into a resurgence/HP Steal character befitting of the idea, and it gives us lots of opportunities with the art.

Of course I don't HAVE to spend €5. I'm sick of the "Well, you don't HAVE to X" argument, because it's never a satisfactory alternative as to what caused someone to start ranting. In the end it comes down to "Stop complaining and kill yourself." After all, you don't HAVE to be alive.
I'm just complaining that I get less bang for the buck because of 1) the mere 20% sales instead of 50%), and b) I have to spend more money at one instant to acquire the same things. It's especially b that bothers me, because it's similar (albeit less outrageous) to half-filled printer cartridges or hotdogs & hotdog buns being sold so that there's always one of either left (well, it's exactly like that).
I don't think they have money trouble either, nor are they doing bad as a company when it comes to profit margin. Both parties aren't obliged to ANYTHING (I don't have to spend money, they don't have to keep their prices the same), but that doesn't mean that there is a certain balance that keeps both happy.
I wouldn't mind at all if they increased RP prices of 50% champs to anything below or equal to 400, because that changes nothing to the actual transaction.
I'm like 90% sure they're gonna nerf top Trundle next patch. Everyone is whining about it.
