In the test build I played like one or two "ranked" provisional matches, never touched it again for a month or more, and when I came back I was set in "bronze something".

Draven has a huge spike of damage after you build your first/second item, then it's time to get super fed or you cant carry.
My god, placement matches are not going well, I play Vlad top against a Jax, see him as Silver 5 so I assume I have a fighting chance, nope, turns out he's a smurf and shits on the entire team.
I also feel like towers are weak as hell right now, that Jax was diving me under tower at level 6 while we were both 100%, I'd do my entire combo on him then he'd kill me and come out from the tower with a kill and still at 80% health despite me having done my entire combo on him + him taking 4 tower hits. He also had absolutely no defensive item, justt had 9/21 masteries, my team was telling me to play it safe and stay under tower and that's literally all I did all game and he could just freely dive me and end my life.
Yeah I played against a Jax aswell, I think it's his ult. He could dive me with his jungler no problem at lvl 6.
Jungler didn't even need to be present top lane, he could dive me all day long.
What makes it worse in my elo, is that if you are losing your lane, you apparently dont deserve any ganks from the jungler. Logic.

I'm kind of the same way when I jungle, if you've fed 3 kills in <10 minutes and still haven't bought wards/learned to play passively then you won't get any help from me, I'll go to another lane and help get someone on our team fed to carry you.
Nothing pisses me off more when jungling than a shitty feeding mid whining that they don't get blue.

I do that on 3/5 champions every late game with Draven. So hilarious. Chopping down champions like they are paper.
