Here's what I generally build, I usually pick a different defensive depending on the enemy team, but I think it works wonders. (I pick boots 5 because I already get MR and tenacity from Spirit of the ancient golem and quicksilver.)

They really should add some sort of system to the current matchmaking where you can select your position and it'll try to put together a team where everyone can get their roles.
A role check system like in WoW
That only works as long as the meta stays the same, although it looks like Riot is very much willing to keep it like this forever.

I'm not sure what to think when you get a Diamond player in normal and they play like they're Bronze.
Not playing seriously is fine but running up to the enemy 1v2 and feeding them to shit is almost intentionally feeding.
The reason they don't want to do that "Role Checking" thing in queues is because they don't want to show players that they support the meta and want people to be more creative at times.
tbh I wouldnt mind role check in ranked that much, cause it seems that whenever someone deviates from the meta in ranked, its usually because of something like "Mid or troll" and they didnt get mid
I dont think I've ever seen a proper non-meta team comp in ranked
although normals should never have something like that
