I have a bad(?) habit of doing this every time I play support.

i was like "shit am i really gonna have to play veigar against lux?" because that was the only mid i had that wasnt banned. i used to "main" veigar but i had never played him in ranked
still, i said fuck it and went ahead, got fed because of some great teamplays, and got DFG first so i could destroy their MF who was fed (lux wasnt even a problem after i shut her down)
also in the very last fight i had my hand positioned wrong on my keyboard and ended up pressing F instead of R. they focused me anyway ofc and trist got a penta
on an unrelated note, veigar's br voice is just as annoying
are you telling me the BR servers have their own voices? oh my god i have to check this out

It's easier in several aspect, but it also means there is less things to be worrying about and you can focus on other things. Some like it more that Dota, other like it less for it. The only way to know if the game is for you is by trying it yourself.

Most melee carries have to build tanky or else they die in 3 seconds
You farm a lot more
You can use a lot of skills on creeps because mana's not a huge issue
The meta's not as flexible (or at least most people would have you believe, though I like doing stuff people don't consider as ~the meta~)
Almost all spells scale, so mages and stuff can also be carries

So, the pre 30s of NA are not having fun against the quantic squad as they level to 30.
Also seems that last whisper and void staff are going to get nerfed. Hopefully they make the appropriate adjustments to defensive items tho.

i never had a problem with void staff
its not like ad casters that HAVE to build a last whisper in order to do damage, mages have a lot of other choices that result in more damage than void staff unless you are someone like sion, veigar or some other bursty motherhugger

Eh not realy. Most hard carries in DotA farm like there is no tomorrow else they will be useless (Example: Medusa. Once she is finally done farming, the match has already ended two hours ago.). In lol you can more or less survive if your farm doesn't go very well.
Just because abilities don't escalate with items doesn't make them less important.

that applies i think exclusively for carries in dota
in lol everyone has to farm hard in order to get any really good results, whether its being super tanky or having a lot of ap or ad

yeah but like, you get a lot more creeps (a little less gold each but still)
i have yet to see someone with over 200 creeps at 20 mins

since you can gank and dive a lot more, a lot of your gold comes from kills, while in competitive LoL games you often see games get to like 10 mins and bam, finally first blood
You really dont farm as much in LoL, only in competitive do people farm over the top levels, its much more common in LoL to not farm the whole day away, you often lose the game if this happens
why farm minions when you can just farm champions :^)
