Matchmaking completely fucks up whenever there are duos in the game, then you can have a challenger, a D1 and 3 bronzes on one team, and a plat 5 with 4 silvers on another.
Maybe they should let bronze go all the way up to Bronze 50 or something.

Ranked games are very difficult for me because I always get stuck on the worst possible team imaginable. I know I'm not great, but I was just in a game where I was the only person who pinged...ganked 5 times with no warning. How do people get to level 30 without even knowing the fundamentals of when to ping!?

Ward extensively, play defensively.
It's not enirely their fault you can't keep yourself safe in lane.

hp = good
even ruby sightstone is good if youre playing jungle olaf
CDR is also good. Spamming E can cause a lot of pain. So yes visage would help. And if you feel like you can forego some armor you can pick up Ionian boots instead of Ninja Tabi to give you pretty much max CDR if you take the correct masteries. Your E hurts a LOT.
i never see yorick anymore, is he still viable? he seems like a solid champ

Well I'm sorry but when there's 3 people ganking you, it's not really reasonable to protect myself, especially early into the game, considering people continuously turret hop to kill me, so yes, it is their fault for not warning me.

If you have a team that doesn't even use the missing ping, you can always play it safe, ward, don't push like crazy if you know they can catch you even with wards, keep an eye on the minimap.
i've noticed that nunu's ult channel has been weird lately
i played a game as support nunu against a jungle hecarim and an AD TF. whenever heca would ult me or whenever TF would goldcard me, my channeling would visually stop, but i'd still actually be channeling still and it would still go off

I've honestly never played against a Yorick, I'm the only one that ever plays him and it confuses me because he's so ridiculously great. He's tanky as hell and does a shitload of damage, I don't even know why he's so unused.

I think he'd be a lot better/"challenging" if you were able to control his ghouls instead of them being automatic, instead of you pretty much having to sit there doing nothing but farm and pressing your abilities now and then.

That'd never happen, Riot intends to keep LoL as casual and easily accessible as possible, because micromanagement is, uh, "anti-fun" along with a lot of other things.
