Well to be frank I had a rune page dedicated for AD and a page dedicated for tanks. The AD page was actually almost perfect, I just needed to get the quints and I was done.
Like hell I'm gonna buy rune pages though. Runes are expensive enough.
For now I have a page that gives me bonus AP and a page that gives me bonus AD with some armor/MR thrown on the side. I'm going to play the fuck out of the game using that 3 day boost I got and hope I can reach straight-up 13k IP to get 4 pages and call it a day.
Considering I got up to 2k IP in like 3 hours that sounds totally doable.
I have an AD page (which really is just top, I never play ADC), an AP page, and a Jungler page. Honestly that's probably enough, although having one for slow junglers/top with MS quints instead of AD/LS would be nice.

also, any tips for garen? I realize a monkey with one arm could probably play garen, but i want to be effective. especially his ult. I'm getting kills with it, but I always am scared they'er not low enough, so I feel like I'm using it a bit...late.

rush black cleaver? Usually I get a brut asap and then get a defensive item and then black cleaver. am i doing it wrong? Granted, the only times I have trouble are against people like Elise and Kennen, so then I rush a hexdrinker and spectral cowl and at that point I just keep going defensive and build full tank because fuck it (also Lee was jungling so he wasn't very tanky)
I'm liking garen a lot more than I thought I would, to be honest. I know he's not the most versatile of champs, but I needed more top variety anyway so it works.
yeah it's kinda uncommon to straight up just buy a black cleaver unless you first blooded or something, most garens do get a defensive item in between brut and bc

garen is pro at winning lane and losing games
i've noticed that, yes. usually it's not my fault, which is rare.
darius is better at carrying than garen, takes too long to do what dairus does so fast
and darius actually deals damage late game

Saying he cant play against people like Udyr and Riven, because those are easy for anyone? I have seen and beaten Rivens as Darius tho so I guess that makes me some sort of pro. Either way if Riven is fucking about with Q he can hit with both sources of damage on his Q which is neat.
He lacks chancing potential when his skill that brings targets towards him is on CD or out of range? Doesnt everyone lack that potiential when their chasing skills are on CD or out of range?

Playing Taric on ARAM vs. an entire AD team is hilarious. I was walking around with 460 armor spamming his joke, and the only reason I didn't have more armor was because they simply couldn't kill me.
