That's my main build. You can get a fairly good amount of health (3.3k), 240armour and 700fuckin' AP with Xerath. That's enough to stand in your W and bombard any ADs stupid enough to come up to you, or slow enough to not be able to run. He has the anti-AD poke potential and tankiness to dominate his lane, AND roam, AND the built-in % magic pen to scale well into lategame.

I personally think that the main reason people don't play Xerath is because they don't find him very fun to play.
I would probably also go chalice (mainly because CDR) -> DeathCap.
Your range and hourglass should be keeping your safe against most enemies. Going RoA Haunting guise and Crystal scepeter is probably a bit of an defensive/health overkill.
I love it when members of your team spam FF and surrender prompts, flame like fuck and all hope is lost.

These are people that more than most likely have gone on some losing streak in the past that has to some degree continued on to that very day and they get extremely hopeless and quick to surrender on every single game
To some degree I'm one of those people, except I yell IRL instead of to the chat and I don't prompt ff that often.

The whole point of Xerath is to only pick him against an AD-heavy tip that includes an AD mid.
That's only the final build.

For example , I love me some AP Naut Mid.
Everyone thinks I'm trolling and I'm weak until I get FB at level 3 and a triple kill at level 6.
Also what's fun is Caitlyn top. She just has no counter. Poke away and farm, keep your E to dive back into your turret. Don't go past halfway. 2gud.
So I wanted to get back to playing some LoL with friends again and I constantly get 300 ping.
It's only in LoL and it's pissing me off because this latency makes my character move a second after clicking.

the problem with xerath is that although he can kill one person instantly with his burst, he can only do it every 60 seconds.
his poke is INSANE, his damage is quite insane, but his escapes are pathetic. He doesnt have any! Sure, you can instaburst that zed come 6 but if he gets the drop on you then its buh-bye xerath.

At level 6 I'll have double dorans, Sorc boots and at least a Catalyst, possibly a wand or RoA if I'm fed enough. That brings me to atleast about 1500hp with like 80 to 90 armour at least. At that level Zed should maybe have a BRutaliser and vampiric scepter. If he ults me, I E and R him, then Q and finish off my ult, then Q again.
I deal mass damage ot him, and since he was stunned right after his ult, he shoudl have only gotten maybe another W and single basic attack off, leaving his ult damage low and me surviving while he gets my full combo and probably ignite to the face.
I've never lost to a Zed, Lee Sin, or Kha mid ever in all honesty. Especially as Xerath.
speaking of garen, i got my shit handed to me against a voli. i'm really not sure what i should have done. he was smart and kept fearing my minions to keep the lane frozen, and any time I went in he'd activate his Q or whatever so even if I silence him, he still flips me, and then he just hits me a bunch and then chomps. You can't outdamage him or outsustain him.

I shat on this Voli just a couple of hours ago as Garen.
He was sort of predictable, so even I could outplay him and make plays where I live with 50 hp when he's dead.

the way to beat voli as garen is to be garen and give that bear a haircut with your spinning slash and then when he tries to be all mean (assuming he used his q already for some dumb reason) you just silence him and run away

it played out one of two ways, really
1. I Q and run in, he activates his Q and the flings me while I silence him which doesn't help and then he hits me a bunch while I spin and then chomps me. Almost all of them get lifesteal as soon as possible so he can just heal right back up while I can't do anything.
2. I run in, he flips and slows, I Q the slow and silence, he gives no shits because he's mostly auto attacks, then he chomps as i run away.
