On my smurf 2-2 series promotion into gold. Going into game now. WISH ME LUCK!
Prepare for your teammates to organize the biggest throw you've seen yet.
i need to stop playing this game for a week, fuck this shit im just muting everyone
What's wrong with Urgot? He doesn't look too bad. I never see him and I never hear of him.
doesnt fit the meta
ok ive never been so angry before because of fucking people in a game. 4 games in a row
i dont even know what they were thinking when they designed urgot "ok lets make most of his skills offense based save for his shield, which scales with AP, and now lets make his ult put him right in the middle of the enemy team in teamfights, perfect" if they redesign him i sure hope they make him a good ad caster and stray as far away from the adc role as possible. and of course make it so he doesnt need to go from loads of damage early on to "is this guy trying to kill me?" late game
he was released over 3 years ago, his kit was pretty damn unique back then also his ult gives him quite a lot of armor/mr for a few seconds so its not all bad
honestly I love his playstyle as it is right now, I don't know how you'd rework it without removing the feel of urgot.
also hosting 5x v 5y now wont get you banned but it will be going soon http://forums.euw.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=13473801#post13473801
"You guys are having too much fun, so we're taking away your ball. Be grateful we're not banning you for it." God bless you Riot.
im really late but i feel like the reason old champs feel clunky is that riot wasn't as good with making champs as it is now. when they first started it didnt feel like all the champions they made were 100% thought through (not saying they are now, just more so)
well he's supposed to win lane and transition into a tank late game like yorick, garen or renekton, but the fact that he simply doesnt fit well in team comps if he goes bot, you need a jungler/top/mid thats great late game to compensate, and if urgot wins bot but they lose, you might be fucked he could go top, but the ones i mentioned do his job so much better than him its not even funny, he's just outclassed mid's imo the best role for him, but you usually need an AP top/jungler and you're still gonna lose out on late game damage
Yay! I am gold on my smurf!
why isn't diana played more? she's so much fun, and I've never lost a game with her. i went 7/3 first game, 12/7 second game, and 22/3 the third game.
Yeah Urgot would be a great pick against these mobile mid assassins

huh amumu does stupid consistent damage [editline]8th October 2013[/editline] the main thing about the old champions is the weird way riot handled their scalings tristana is a full ad carry and she has insane ap ratios, blitzcrank has two ap mage nukes and two ad brawler abilitieswhile having extremely low base AS, trynd has two very strong ap scalings, gragas gets free ad etc its like riot couldnt decide what they want with their champions when they first launched the game
A longer actual statement on the new gamemode: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?p=42061467#post42061467 Basically they're going to have a bunch of temporary game modes and cycle them in and out. This is one of them and we can expect it before the end of the year.

So magical nukes centered around dealing good flat damage, with the option to buy more AP to scale them even higher. I case of Trist she could be either spell-based nuker or generic ADC with her steroids. Depending on builds. And the spells giving loads of things, in this case Gragas' drink, is old way of the game. I'm not absolutely certain for it to be based on Dota, but there are lots of other buffs that give different stats at the same time. Like Singed's ult, Defensive boost, regeneration, some offence (it was +AS and maybe AD a long while ago, nowadays it gives AP) and movespeed. Now that's lots of shit you get from 1 spell. Gragas' drink gives you AD, damage reduction and +mana while it's channeling. That's a good number of boosts you get also. While there are other spells that give just single stat (Tristana's Q) it just complements their role better. They don't need anything else. And +90% AS is insane during the old times of LoL, thus it didn't need much else to be effective as fuck. (tbh it shouldn't be buffed either, it's fine right now.) Plus: Drinking alcohol, which increases the power of your fists only makes sense in a logical way. Fuck balance-based designs. He was originally oldschool tank anyway, not an AP nuker like he is 99% played today, so he had to have good ton of stuff in his kit to work well in that role. If you take off all the damage numbers off his kit and look at what the spells do themselves, it rounds up a good tank kit overall. Debuffs/CC all around, and teamfight power to the boot. So yeah. They might be a bit outdated, but they are still effective. Riot has changed their design styles over the years, which will make most of the old ones outdated as fuck. That still doesn't make them totally bad. (Personally, it gets lame if you make a champion to have 1 way to build them. Like Zed is all "STACK ALL THE AD" instead of having the option to buy AP to boost his spells, or to get AD to shit out damage with aa's.)

Look at someone like Brand versus maybe Lissandra or Fizz. Brand is a cookie cutter mage; active abilities proc a different passive effect with a nuke ultimate. Where as the newer mages (fizz, lissandra), even down to someone like Xerath; the creativity is so much larger now in design, and the fact that the more oddball and niche the champion design is, the higher the reward has to be when someone effectively pull off a perfect combo; so the simpler champions get out damaged or out-play others when people learn how to effectively use the newer more interesting skillset champs. IMO anyway, I think for a game that balances and changes itself constantly its pretty god dam balance all things considered.
well, theyve also got a pretty consistent style for making champions now, which i really like [editline]8th October 2013[/editline] on a slightly unrelated note i think lee sin has the best design in the game
wow i just won an hour long battle of pentas and nexus attacking going back and forth. also wtf auto attacks are still buggy as fuck. does anyone know how you modify your a button to show your attack range? and also how do you change skills shots with a line, to just be a circle with the range? i saw dyrus using that.

I can't quite recall where it is in settings but that should change to the circle.

To be honest, I main Urgot top as a bruiser and he's phenomenal. (He can also Jungle with I'd say B- efficiency overall). I hardly ever lose top. He counters Panth, Riven, Garen, Jayce and Zed. It's awesome. Sadly, Darius counters him unless you only build health. But yeah I generally will go Iceborne Gauntlet, Black Cleaver, Sunfire Cape, Frozen Mallet and Hexdrinker/maw with merc treads for a super tanky but also damage-peely build.
you MAIN urgot? wtf

when is jinx coming wdf
I used to main urgot until he sucked urgot is still one of my favourite champions, after Ziggs, Draven and Lucian
