Yea, holy shit. It negates 1 entire autoattack for the whole laning phase until you die.
Look at it as 50 bonus hp and suddenly it sounds a lot better
Sure it doesnt regenerate but it sounds like it can make a difference in early 1v1s

My win rate a support skyrocketed when I found out that just like any other role it's totally allowed to just leave your lane if you're losing it and go help other people.
There's quite a number of games where my ADC was just not up to par and couldn't use their money advantage from all the ganks and free dragons to dominate everyone, and in these games I always just left my lane regularly and helped mid get fed or warded the entire enemy jungle so our jungler could easily steal buffs and take kills.
Usually the supports I see lose are either really bad at being support or don't have the balls to migrate to another lane on a regular basis to help other carries.
And I play support because Thresh is a badass pimp.

I am not sure why you keep saying that, supports became more powerfull and got much more freedom in Season 3 compared to the previous seasons.

support feels the same to me as before
Supporting has definitely grown from being the spectator sport of s2.
i dislike playing support simply because i dont trust soloq teammates
i know it sounds like the whole "i get matched with scrub teams and i belong in a higher elo" but really, its much harder to be a game changer as a support, even if you're playing someone like thresh. if you're mid/top/adc however, just outlane your opponent, dont die and farm (do one of the three and you're already contributing at least a little), and its a lot easier to help your team like that

I agree here. *IF* I can get around to getting (even at 40 minutes) say a Sunfire cape and Twin Shadows on whomever I'm supporting as, it's amazing and we'll usually win. But I have to only one vis ward back and only have Sightstone for such a long while. I'm not trying to carry, I just want to help beyond warding.
S4 is going to be glorious for supports.

I forgot how faceroll she is compared to him
lucian is one of the few adcs that make me feel like i can actually do stuff by myself rather than pussy out and stay behind my team at all times

I watched a stream about a month ago with two friends playing Cassiopea/Soraka botlane in duo ranked, Soraka got Gold during the stream.
And they somehow didn't lose a single match as long as they kept that weird duo going, but the instant the cassiopea dude changed champ for a more conventional ADC they lost :v:

Yeah I got a triple kill 1v3 and a full 100-0% ult on a Sona as Lucian, but I always have to pay attention to what I'm doing 100% of the time
His harass is very good if you can land all your Q/AAs, but he goes through mana like nothing and his harass combo puts him right next to the enemy so you have to dodge anything that comes back at you immediately
It's hard getting a good ult off in lane with minon blocking, and pretty much impossible in the jungle if the opponent knows what they're doing
He's rewarding but very tiring to play

A bit late, but I prefer playing support to adc because you actually DO make a difference
I only really discovered how important warding is during season 3. People bitch and moan about having to shell out 75/125 gold for one, but you can earn so much more gold by staying alive, thus farming longer
Winning a game as a support with like 27 assists feels great because you know that your heals, wards, etc. really did help your team
