Everyones mmr gets a "soft" reset to 1200 mmr, so you're back at the start but it's a bit higher. Basicly all gold players may have 1250 mmr or something. At least I think thats how it works.
I assume I'll have to do placements all over again... hmm...

In the early game a good support is literally make or break for a botlane. If you sit in a bush when you play support, you're playing it wrong.
Playing support this season does feel like just ward whoring and sitting in a bush until you land a stun/hook/cc that will automatically win you the lane, and if the ADC is a good carry player, the game. It's a whole lot better when you reach the teamfight phase and you can actually shine by playing your support spells properly, but some games take a very long time to reach that when I do supp.
It's not exactly fun to me atleast. I'd rather just play "supports" in ARAM where your skills feel like they matter to your team rather than that one guy sitting in lane with you.

As a support you should also be fighting, while yes you can't exactly fight 1v1 or do any significant damage by yourself, you're still supposed to be out there throwing spells, poking the enemy ADC and AAing them.
I play Leona with a 21 armor rune page and defensive heavy masteries and I just go balls deep with my CC to get my ADC kills and feed the shit out of him. You won't feed your ADC simply by giving him vision and then jacking off in a bush.

Learn to play support, it's one of the easiest roles to learn and it's actually pretty fun if you pick the right champ.

I like to make them miserable. I poke them every time they try to last hit. And if we are doing good, I usually put myself between the minions and them and force them to sit under their tower, missing even more gold/xp. When we take the first tower I usually go help mid if they haven't taken their enemy tower, then I go for top. That or I force the enemy to come to defend mid while my carry/top push their lanes.
The point is, supports don't just ward and go afk.

Nerfs didn't make him that viable in ranked compared to other champions.
Since his best harass spell is highly unreliable people prefer picking champs with much better poke that's not tricky to land.
By the way if you're playing support and not constantly harassing the enemy then you're doing it wrong. Every single support in the game has a built-in poke ability that will make everyone miserable.
