I've always levelled Q up first followed by W and I win my lane all the time, seems to me that it's how most competent Jax does it too, am I missing something? The burst damage coming from the Q is great, since it scales with AD too.
i know maxing w was how you did it before at least, not sure what changed
w has a shorter cd and half the mana cost but i don't think it matters much what you max

that's what i do too, levelling w gives gives you only like 20 more damage per skill level but the damage on q is much more, and having your escape/engage off cooldown faster is always nice, w is actually the skill i max last because to trade as jax you only need to reset your AA once and get the passive ult off then walk away
I max W second because that's usually around the time I have a Trinity force and my ult so I hit some minion twice then I jump on some dude and end his life with W + ult proc + trinity force proc. I'd have to test out maxing W for laning phase as I always just maxed Q so I have no clue how it would turn out.

what offensive items are best on riven on a full build, to deal maximum damage?
is it actually better to go something like:
bloodthirster
black cleaver
last whisper
ravenous hydra
(2 defensive items, usually warmogs/GA/QSS-->mercurial/randuins)
or should i just go 3 BT and 1 last whisper for max burst?

As a Riven you SHOULD be getting auto attacks between spells, your passive is your main source of damage.
Basic thumb of rule with Hydra is get it first or don't

I got 85, but the vast majority of the ones I missed I knew what champ it was, just couldn't think of their name
lulu was already really good without the ap scaling slow but i guess riot want supports to be more fun to just fuck everyone up with late game

Yes completely bypass the fact that the passive (200% damage on next basic) stacks with her passive. Yup i forgot it literally makes no sense

It's 200% of BASE AD, ontop of that you're getting fucking shit stats everywhere else on the item.
