still, you never really hear the term used for them because theres no reason to, as they're not your traditional adcs, so there's no point in labeling them as such.
[editline]15th November 2013[/editline]
actually wait no what would even make them adcs?
[editline]15th November 2013[/editline]
really the only one i agree with is trynd, because yi and sion are just like any other bruiser
Up until a few months ago you could literally filter the champions list by "carry" and Tryndamere, Yi and Sion would be there with all other ADC's.
Its not a term we just made up.
Which is why riot decided to switch to Marksman instead because it made it a whole lot clearer.
Well doesn't carry as a general moba term mean a champion/hero that's reliant on gold and items to do well and therefore has a really weak early game? Therefore it shouldn't really matter if the champion is melee or ranged to be called a "carry".
Yi's still a carry, he needs to build damage in order to be effective and therefore ends up being squishy, which is like the defining thing of a carry - being a literal glass cannon.
I'd say Tryn's more bruiser-y than Yi, since his ult allows him to tank a surprising amount of damage.
I hope he's more of an assassin than a bruiser, we haven't gotten an assassin in a while and there are way too many bruisers in the game anyway.
If you go back to Diana release and look at the list of champions you get a majority of assassins. Bruisers are second though, so you're probably right, feels like there are more of them already in the game (not gonna count them...).
Not particularly excited about either, that dragon thing that was rumoured about some time ago looked much more interesting. Also visually, that guy looks quite dull.

what, you mean in the client? because if we're going by that then really we might as well start using the term "fighter" for any melee ads
[editline]15th November 2013[/editline]
and no people, i'm not saying they're not carries, i'm saying they're not adcs

I'm pretty sure they're Carries that build AD, most of the time anyway. Unless you've been building Tryn AP the entire time.
oh and btw i do realize adc means attack damage carry and thats exactly what trynd and yi are
im just saying the term is only used for traditional, ranged ad carries, and that theres no point in using it for other champions, even if they supposedly fit the role
I hope Yasuo is unique in some manner that isn't irritating. As much as I love Zac, he is a major pain with all of his cc and mobility.
aka its the community's version of marksman
[editline]15th November 2013[/editline]
basically what i'm saying is that adc isnt "champion that builds attack damage and can carry" even if that's literally what it says, and that its only used to describe a more specific type of champion, because if it wasnt then itd make the whole thing confusing as fuck
I haven't won a game in a week, this is some horseshit. I can't carry games anymore and I get brain dead team mates.
best champs are old school champs don't need your high apm gay champs i'll just play nunu and jax and roll top no matter who i'm against (except wukong always ban that guy)
I'm still waiting for a new champion that isn't in a 2 legs, 2 arms, 1 head, human fashion ect... I want to see something new and unique like chogath or kog-maw or another yordle.

I agree completely. Don't know why you got rated dumb for wanting something that isn't a humanoid.
I agree completely. Don't know why you got rated dumb for wanting something that isn't a humanoid.
"no more humanoids"
proceeds to name creatures who have the basic structure of two legs, arms and a head, give or take
Elise at least half counts.
I'm surprised there hasn't been a harpy champion yet, they're a pretty significant fantasy creature and god knows the game could use more female monsters.
no make more dark gritty mlg champs like darius and aatrox fuck interesting champs like jinx
"no more humanoids"

Well you know what he meant lol
More monsters in general would be nice, Zac barely counts because of how humanoid his structure is.

And that's like 5 out of the hundred champions there are. Like they had a really good opportunity with Zac but still made him a humanoid.
What I'm really looking forward to is how they handle Ao Shin.

What's wrong with them? I like some serious champions like Darius or Garen, makes you feel cool playing them, especially if you get the execute.
And that's like 5 out of the hundred champions there are. Like they had a really good opportunity with Zac but still made him a humanoid.
All they could have done with Zac is make him seem more amorphous with his animations (i.e so that he actually drastically changes shape when he moves around and shit), something similar to the sandman from Spider-Man. I think that would have been enough to make him seem not so humanoid.

the problem is that ADC does literally mean 'attack damage carry' but was never used to refer to trynd or fiora because they were worthless as full on glass cannon carries anyway.
hell this is the half the reason why we now call ranged ADCs marksmen, to avoid confusion over who is what (the other half being because it's not always the ad carry that carries the game).
still, despite that Fiora and Trynd are now 'fighters' and yi is an 'assassin'.
What's wrong with them? I like some serious champions like Darius or Garen, makes you feel cool playing them, especially if you get the execute.
I like serious champions too, but I'd like some serious monsters that don't feel cartoony. Ao Shin currently looks like he is going to be pretty cool to play, but a new inhuman void champion would be really nice. Kha'Zix set a nice bar for new void champions, but I want to see something really monstrous and terrifying actually step from the void.
Or more Zaunite champions. I know a lot of things that come from zaun are 'wacky mad science' but if you stop and think about the atrocities they are supposedly committing, there has to be something seriously nasty lurking in there somewhere.
I was watching some Samurai films little earlier and I had a cool idea for a champ, maybe Yasuo.
So you know how in those films, the Samurai does that badass thing how he slashes the enemy and shit and then the enemy dies the moment he sheathes his sword?
That would be a cool mechanic, like none of his abilities do immediate damage, but as soon as he sheathes his sword, it does amplified damage to the targets.
It could be like a channel spell and the player can cancel mid-channel for reduced damage.
Since Yasuo will be stationary to channel, it will promote the high-risk high-reward strategy Riot never gets correctly.
i hope his release skin will be a samurai jack reference
rioto pls

Wait what's with this champion? Thought we had Ao Shin up next?
I have no idea how Riot manages their champion development. They're putting a generic human infront of storm dragon/lizard thing? The same thing featured in Udyr's comics and that had quite a lot of push behind it?
I do not understand. Someone mind explaining why they believe pushing another swordsman is better than adding to the creature cove?
they already said ao shin won't be coming out anytime soon tho
