I'm still struggling with what to build on lissandra. Part of me wants to rush Grail and then Zhonyas/deathcap but I find that waaaaay too squishy.
I tried the "Karthus build" and got RoA + Archangels Staff first into Zhonyas/deathcap and so far that has worked for me best I think. Took long as hell to build and I felt a little lacking in power for some reason.
Any thoughts on what to build on her?

i haven't played her before, but i think going rod>dcap could be a good idea if you can get the rod fast enough

I tried it too and they don't do it with EUW.
So uh, any insight on what differences are in silver and gold leagues?
One thing is that they're worse in lane(it's so easy to stomp silver 2 compared to gold3, for example) and have less farm overall.
Those are just most obvious ones that I've realized.

CS and lane are obvious ones. Also champion and matchup knowledge; counter picking does come into play sometimes. Slightly less "omg silver V elo hell omgogmomg" people but not by much. It's hard to say what the difference is because for example Silver I and Gold V won't have huge differences. But Gold I will be much better and such. Expect people to know what they're doing with builds at the very least and know what the hell they're doing most of the time.
While I mentioned farming, how in the living fuck do plat/diamond farm that well?
In lane it's kinda fine, but after the laning phase and at the end of the game they always have the most farm.
How the hell do they do that
Considering I only play with them in normals, I focus on the farm and try to keep up but I just can't. Sometimes it even feels like I've been farming nicely, but again not enough.
When I lolking search them and see they're plat 1, I know he's gonna have 100 more farm than anyone else. Even if he fucking lost the lane. EVERY. TIME.

Never, ever stop farming something. Don't get caught in the trap of just wandering around waiting for a fight to happen. In prostreams you see they always take wraiths/wolves golems etc just constantly, there's really no time they're not farming other than seiges or poke-fights around objectives.

I need some tips for early game with her, and by that I mean how do I manage her mana?
I tend to harass the fuck out of the enemy usually leaving them at like 20% or less HP, but then my mana runs out so I can't kill them.
Do I just harass way less and conserve mana for the jungle gank?
Does riot match promo matches with other promo matches? I feel like that would be a good implementation, even if it did increase queue time. Maybe just 3 people in promo per team would be a good compromise?

Depends on what you max really. You'd generally want to always get a Q+AA off. Even with Q is off cooldown whenever you have a chance autoattack the enemy. Always keep looking for openings. Yeah 50 damage might not be much but it DOES add up. Unless you land a charm or have a 99% chance of hitting a Q you should refrain from spamming spells.
But at the same time, if you oom yourself BUT force your opponent out of lane or kill them it's not much of an issue running out of mana. Just make sure you always have enough for your charm/ultimate so you can be relatively safe from ganks. Seeing as you're playing Ahri I'd say harass with autoattacks/Q but make sure you have enough mana for an all in at level 6 when you get a rather noticable power spike with your ultimate. Landing everything + ignite on an enemy will kill them most of the time.

Well if youre having trouble with mana, you could invest in runes, set up your masteries in utility for more mana regen, and possibly get 2 early game dorans rings if youre doing well.

Don't worry man.
Don't play when you're pissed and only play when you play the game for enjoyment, not winning and your win rate will increase by half if you follow these two rules.
Ironically when I'm really pissed I do better. But yeah I know stuff like that as I have played quite a lot of ranked.
Currently I'm just wondering if I really got so bad in my break that I won't be able to get in gold. Somehow I kinda would have wanted to start from bronze or something and work my way up to silver, but now I feel like I have just been stomping in place instead for the past 100 games. (Or end up in gold and get demoted back to silver to prove that I'm not that good yet)

Just keep playing at your best every game.
If you honestly think you're doing something wrong, just look very closely into the mistakes you may or may not be doing.
But really, if you're doing bad in the sense that you wreck your lane and still lose the game: consider roaming a lot.
Every time i play top i try to shove the tower down as fast as i can so i can go to help mid/bot just to improve your chances of winning, you probably know all of this already, but sometimes people forget the basics.
Yeah I keep all that in mind every game. But some games can't just be won that's like people with afkers and just someone who refuses to work as a team, thats what makes me most frustrated. Especially if its my damn promotion games!

If you get afkers, you report them so they don't ruin other people's games.
If you get people who refuse to work as a team, just try your best to convince them or change the current playstyle of your team so that they'll be forced to join teamfights to win.
I had this Xerath a few days ago: In this game, me and my duo buddy at bot wrecked the lane hard against another premade.
We were winning hard but then ahri from xerath's lane started camping us, so we started losing our advantage, but this entire time xerath didn't call missing or follow her. Game went on, this xerath and our jungler kept getting caught and we almost lost the game.
But you know what i did? I forced them to think about what they're doing: I asked them if they wanted to win and they said no and that they didn't care about the game anymore. I told them over and over and over again that the only way we could win teamfights was if they would wait for me to hook someone and for them to stop getting caught, i said this so often that eventually they started to function with us as a team. Despite the biggest disadvantage over the course of the entire game because of lack of teamwork, i managed to persuade them to work with us.
Try this and if it doesn't work then i don't know what you can do.
Yeah I'm the guy in our team who is constantly typing in chat trying to keep the team together, with people who refuse to work as a team I literally mean people who just troll and shit because they didn't get mid.
