I had my best run yet, I got to the heart for the first time. I stupidly lost health before it and all these new attacks gave me little room for error. Maybe next time. Funny thing is after Mom I found [sp]this big room with items and had to beat what felt like every standard boss in the game. And that was super easy.[/sp]

I could have picked a brimstone baby at one point but I already had good damage output and effects. I wanted to have nice amount of hearts. Unfortunately right after I gained about two more so it was a missed opportunity.

I found Bob's Brain while doing the Cat got your Tongue challenge probably the first time I was happy to see that particular item

Knocked out Cursed! as well, using maybe one of my new favorite combos, Death's Touch and Brimstone Baby. Who am I kidding. It was Brimstone Baby. He destroys everything.

I'm a litte bit disappointed they didn't make more Ultra versions of sins. Could be caricatures to other game developers, like Ultra Lust being Zoe Quinn, Ultra Greed being Bobby Kotick, etc.

I feel the balance is totally off on the characters when playing anyone but Samson makes me think I fucked up. I can't even think of a use for Eve, and Lazaraus isn't anything special, and until D6 Isaac isn't either. Eden is literally luck, Azaezal is great, and Cain is third.

I came across this seed ([B]obbj zen1[/B]) when looking up what else ludovico could synergize with, and it is so good that by the time I got to the bottom of sheol with samson that I had so many damage upgrades that Satan was just a little fucking pissbaby.

Got the Rotten Baby in the first floor Devil Room on the Slow Roll challenge. The flies it spawned one-shot all normal enemies. Also carried me through the Cat challenge. I think I like it even more than Lil Brimstone.

I don't know how could I fuck up the Waka Waka challenge with Tammy's Head. Upon use you leave a bunch of magnetic tears in place that attract every enemy in the room like a black hole and kills them (but some bosses).

I really wish the secrets were more secretive this go round. Access to the Chest and Dark Room is spelled out for you this time instead of being something you only pieced together once you unlocked the trinket and played fortune tellers a fair amount. The items associated with accessing them is deliberately thrusted into your hands instead of something you needed to seek out. The means of accessing Mega Satan was a nice secret but was a little bit soiled by the unlock notice that heavily hints at what it was associated with. The little note you got from using the Rules Card was sufficient to hide the secret away instead of deliberately telling you that the angels are waiting for you and frankly I would have preferred it that way. I like the retro treasure rooms and black market a fair deal, they're rare and secretive enough to not be plastered into your face. And there's nothing that requires you to even find them for 100%, so encountering them isn't a general-progression thing. However, the fact that it's entirely random saps away from the secret's merit, as even an observant player has no means of even attempting to make use of it unless they're spamming We Need to Go Deeper or Blank Card + Hagalaz. The Rules Card tells you "A DARK MARKET LIES UNDER YOUR FEET" and "ROOMS MAY YIELD MORE THAN YOU EXPECT. EXPERIMENTATION IS KEY", but the experimentation that it talks about is entirely random, so there's nothing to really experiment for when the odds are roughly 1 in 10 and there's no way to look for it like you would with an X-marked rock. Ed takes a lot of inspiration from Spelunky, so I'm actually surprised that there was not an Udjat Eye-like item that would aid in finding these hidden ladders. The boss rush was the most obvious secret to anyone following the game's development. Ed has made it clear that he wanted to have time-related secrets that would reward going quickly instead of punishing going slowly. He even went as far as to give us a running clock and a timer icon on the level transition. The secret was unearthed for a lot of people long before they killed Mom's Heart for the first time. By the time you get the Rules Card to learn "THE WALLS WILL HARDEN OVER TIME. TIME IS THE ESSENCE", you'll have already known of the Boss Rush and have cleared it already. The Lost is probably the best secret but with a bit of a haphazard mismanagement. Other than requiring multiple people to commit suicide in the same way and hope for the right puzzle pieces, it's pretty well-done. I get that it was thought up in order to get the community together, but there should have been some forethought regarding people wanting to unearth it under any circumstances other than a readme that says "please don't." And of course there are the secret rooms. The other secrets in the game, however, don't feel like secrets at all. They just feel like general progression. I don't feel clever or observant for having found them, they just [i]happen[/i]. I know that there are a handful of items that are unlocked for picking up a thematic group of items, but each time that happened was by coincidence and not something I deliberately sought out to do with my wits. I was trying out lots of weird combinations to deliberately find some secrets before real platinum god was attained on-stream and then I gave up on those when I realized they were fruitless. The game didn't acknowledge that I tried to flush Dingle, the game ignored my Gemini kill with the Gemini item, nothing happened when I used a Death card on Death. I dunno, I just don't feel like the game has that many actual secrets that rely on the player being creative or witty.

I made it to It Lives in Suicide King, killed it, died to a spider from Teratoma Revived for some reason?????, didn't realize it right away, died to the same spider

Suicide King has you playing as Lazarus.
