My least favorite are the jumping head spider things. They jump around a constant distance randomly, but then when they decide to attack you they can cross the whole screen. And they can do it over rocks and stuff too.

Oh wow. I arrived to the Chest with really powerful shielded penetrating tears, and since two of the chests contained Soy Milk and 3 Dollar Bill, I picked them up for shits and giggles. The result wasn't all that awful, except during the ??? fight, 3 Dollar Bill decided to give me those Proptosis tears that decrease in damage over time. Since Soy Milk already reduced damage so much, it made for an... interesting fight. Found an interesting glitch. If you take dark bum into the top secret room with all the hearts, he won't be able to change those hearts into anything except a heart again. He just sat there, ate them all, spat out almost half as many, ate those, repeats, and then I finally got him outside and ended up with only one fucking spirit heart........ yeah pro tip, wait til he grabs all the hearts, then quickly exit the room and make him spit out the spirt hearts outside. FUCK

do any of you guys have any tips on getting the purist done that worked for you guys? i've only ever managed to get as far as the womb before dying (and subsequently clenching my fists and my ass)

FUCK[/QUOTE] I'm sure that that version of the super secret room is actually programmed to always cause red hearts to drop if you force hearts to drop, like how the dark room super secret room will always drop black hearts if you force hearts to drop in it or I think the eternal heart super secret room will always drop eternal hearts from heart drops.

So, play it safe, don't gamble away too much of your hearts. Dark Bum is pretty damn good. And pray to RNGesus Sorry if thats kinda vague.

You could always just restart util you get optimal items but other than that its p. much a normal run without item rooms :v:

So if you were to go in there with a Portable Slot and you win a generic heart, you'd win that specific heart. However, if you were to go into the same room with The Lovers, you'd get 2 red hearts because that tarot card gives a specific heart type that overrides the room's precedent. This should be true for the Jar as well, as the Jar is only capable of holding red hearts. Dark Bum doesn't necessarily spawn specific hearts, he has a random chance to spawn either a soul heart or dark heart, which is why I believe that the womb secret room managed to override his heart drop protocol.

Other than that you just have to pray for good boss drops and decent shop items and take devil deals.

Man key beggars can be great sometimes. I just used one to get a third guppy item. They're definitely the most expensive beggar, but if you get a couple two of spades cards miracles can happen.
