This is true; when people say Rebirth just feels better in almost every way they aren't lying. It does, I couldn't imagine going back to the original.
I tried, and I couldn't because the framerate was unbearable. :v: Can't believe we've been playing it for so long and never noticed.
So mom's knife+triple shot is crazy good, 3PC0 QV38 if anyone wants to try out the run, pretty easy tbh, good items throughout. Also experimental treatment did a good thing for once [thumb]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/44237099611699111/CC577C66C3E494A5BA5B42E4B672B7DBB7663D26/[/thumb]
I think it's based on your damage stat. Meaning if you get Ipecac you'll destroy almost anything in one coin or two.
I wa doing suicide king and it took two coins to kill the White things that pop up and chase you
Part of the reason rebirth is so good? Azazel. I could play as that guy all day.

Talking about that I'm a bit disappointed in the Brimstone synergies, the only ones we got are the ones Edmund advertised on the website, there are a lot of obvious ones (20/20, Strange Attractor) that don't do anything at all. Also a lot of potentially fun ones (Monstro's Lung, Parasite, Cricket's Body) that don't work either.
Yeah, I was kind of disappointed that splash damage tears didn't work on brimstone / technology. Of course, it's be pretty powerful, but that's half the fun!
Two times yesterday the game decided that my Fetus in a Jar run needed some Epic Fetus. First run was in the Demoman challenge but still, it's pretty insane. Second run I actually passed it up because homing double bombs was just too good to throw into the wind to see if it'd have synergy with Epic Fetus. The game decided that I wanted Taurus and Midas Touch though so the entirety of the Chest was me ramming into things the instant I stepped into the room.
Haha shit I just found out you can feed bombs to Chub Dodongo-style. I love the parallels to classic zelda in Isaac.
[vid]http://puu.sh/cZLTn.webm[/vid] playing around with editing music and layers (fire emblem is the only other game i know of that has different music when shit's happening) this has potential for music mods, hoping someone adds layers to the original game's track, as the mod currently available with the old music doesn't use layers
god I'm so sick of enemies telefragging me lumps, those white worm dudes and then the best of all, fucking blue baby telefragged me when he was at a tiny bit of health
Part of the reason rebirth is so good? Azazel. I could play as that guy all day.
He really acts as such a nice break for when shit gets frustrating. Being able to fly and have point blank brimstone is just so immensely satisfying.

I was so used to flying, I kept running into rocks trying to get away from those regenerating meat guys.

So many possibilities with this. I love games whose music changes slightly depending on what's happening on screen

I just found [sp]Mega Satan[/sp] by accident because I had Leo and accidentally fought the [sp]angels[/sp].

was doing demo man, everything was going beautifully then it lives spawned a teratoma never again
What the fuck's up with damage up items? Things like the Tiny Rock, Jesus Juice or Blood Clot don't give any significant increase in damage, and the meter on the pause menu doesn't change. I had Jesus Juice and Blood Clot in the last run and I still couldn't even kill a simple attack fly in one hit I remember the Tiny Rock in the original was pretty decent, now it does essentially nothing Is it a bug, or something I'm overlooking?
The meter on the pause menu seems to not change a fucking lot. Same issue last game had, so I'm not sure how that managed to carry over at all. It fucking sucks though. None of my stats ever change on the pause menu when I pick up experimental treatment. I'm left to just assume my stats are actually improving and not just glitching up on me.
I think the stats screen changes after a room or two
I tried that, didn't work. The times it did work it worked immediately after the item took effect.
[t]http://puu.sh/d0jEz.jpg[/t] it was at this point that i stopped using my right hand to play entirely (not pictured: homing tears)

It's kinda shitty. I know Edmund doesn't want exact numbers, but can't the bars fill up partially or something?

What's the point of having a damage up if it doesn't at least improve by a fair margin? I checked the Jesus Juice on the wiki and it increases by 0.5. Fucking fantastic. If it doesn't let you kill an attack fly in one hit or at least go up by one bar in the menu I deem it as shit
Do you need to beat all the bosses on hard mode for platinum god?
So is [sp] The Lost [/sp] and [sp] Mega Satan [/sp] the big secret Ed was pissed off about being spoiled within the first week?
So is [sp] The Lost [/sp] and [sp] Mega Satan [/sp] the big secret Ed was pissed off about being spoiled within the first week?
probably the lost, since [sp]mega satan[/sp] was kinda easy as hell to find.
Never again I'm going to pick up soy milk. I did it twice, both times it fucked up my run.
I hate how dark the Depths floors are. I've lost some good runs because they're too dark to see pits and rocks, at least on my monitor.
