To be fair nearly every item in the game is in the same boat; how are you supposed to know what an item does if it's the first time you're seeing it? But the thing is, once you get it you can remember it and it's visual.
Yeah but most items don't royally fuck runs.
here's an incredibly fun game
that floating eyeball item
which eyeball item is it?
there's like90
What's the general opinion of Tiny Planet? I've heard lots of negative things about it but I personally think it's really fun.

depends on your other items, really.

its fun if you have high damage and spectral tears, but if you dont have spectral tears and you enter a room dense with rocks youre fucked.

Cain's Other Eye and Peeper are both floating eyes, though.
The only eye items that even look unfairly similar are Cain's Other Eye and Inner Eye, the only way to tell them apart is from the size of the pupil and COE has a reddish tinge to it. Other than that there's also Cain's Eye, but that's a trinket.
Cursed Eye has neither pupil nor iris, Polyphemus is huge, Peeper has the optic nerve still attached, Mom's Eye has lashes, Pinky Eye is pink, Mom's Contact is red and has lashes, Ludovico has the huge apparatus on it, Proptosis has swelling around the eye.
I'd argue that it's tougher to recognize which technology is which. 0.5 is easy but the two main ones can be tougher to distinguish if you can't remember exactly which one looks like what.

Your run needs to be strong with a lot of attack speed or with a synergistic item to be at least decent.
To be honest I thought you'd shoot your tear straight and then it would start going around you instead of falling which would be pretty good in most circumstances, but the actual item has a weird as fuck pattern that is way too unreliable.

I mix up Ludovico and Technology an unfortrunate amount of times.
Ludovico can be a game breaker given the right stuff (with a brimstone, forget about it but in general I find it too weak.
Tech though, there's no bad tech.
If you have maxed a stat on the pause screen, do you still benefit if you get another increase?

I think tech 2 is really bad and tech 1 isn't much better
tech .5 is great

Tech 2 drops your damage 35%, which is why I almost never take it.

You bet your ass you do.
The most difficult thing in this game isn't the final few bosses, it's making sure you get the right polaroid, fuck.
Just threw away a great ??? run with Mom's Knife, Mom's Eye, Mom's Pearl, like a billion soul hearts and the Holy Mantle just because I happened to be in the wrong place after beating Mom.
Oh well, at least I got the Boss Rush out of the way.
Tech 1/2 is amazing if you can pair it with Polyphemus. I'm currently playing with it and tech 1, every tick is one shotting most enemies without any other damage increases. Also have scorpio and fear shot, I almost feel dirty it's so op.
poly makes anything amazing
Whats the difference between tech 1 , 2 and .5?
Rebirth is on sale today, 33% off.
Whats the difference between tech 1 , 2 and .5?
1, zappy laser. Replaces left eye I think. Less damage decrease than 2.
2, beamy laser. Replaces right eye. Major damage decrease, but continuous fire.
5, zappy intermittent laser. Stuck on forehead. I think the damage is like 1, but it doesn't replace tears.
Tech 1 completely replaces your tears with lasers. I don't think it changes your stat at all. Easy to recognize because it's the only technology item that actually looks like an eye (it has an iris and all).
Tech 2 gives you a continuous laser that does low damage at very regular intervals but removes the ability to fire tears from your right eye. So it essentially divides your tears stat by 2. Interestingly enough, since Cain doesn't have a left eye, it completely replaces his tears. Apparently it also reduces your damage stat by 35% but I've never really noticed it. It looks like Tech 1 but with a much more robotic looking eye.
Tech .5 doesn't change your tears or stats at all, all it does is fire at random intervals as long as you hold the arrow keys. It's great when you have a bad rate of fire because it doesn't care about your tears stat at all (and really, it's great overall because it increases your damage output with no drawback at all). It looks a bit similar to Tech 2 except you can't confuse them with each other because there's only the robotic eye with some wires coming out of the top and bottom, nothing on the sides.
Just had a perfect hard mode Eden run. Spawned with Fetus in a jar. Second floor item room had Polyphemus. Third floor Angel room had Dead Dove.
If only I had been fast enough to get Boss Rush :suicide:
Holy shit.
So I was having a hard time even getting past just Cave I, but I get the Leech early on in my latest run and suddenly I find myself beating Mom for the first time in the game.
That felt good.
I may be in a vast minority but I almost never NOT take an item. I'm too greedy.
A shame I didn't get Abaddon this run because this looks like a fucking army of locusts.

I wish I had more damage ups but eh whatever, that was still really fun.
holy shit

I didn't make it to mom's heart.
Yay. just beat Mom's Heart with Azazeal, I had the wiggly worm and the reusable tear shot (cant remember what it's called) and used it on her and she died instantly, but I died as well to one of her bullet rain shots. Still counts though so I'm happy!
I two shot the lamb with Tammy's Head & Sad Bombs
this is the aftermath of the bomb going off, just after he died

Has anyone tried the game on both platforms? For some reason I've found the PS4 movement to be a lot tighter and snappier, almost like the PC version has a very tiny bit of lag. Could be just imagining it though.
Soy Milk + Epic Fetus is pretty crazy, as long as you're careful not to bomb yourself :v:
its great when you get a devil room with the bible and two black hearts
got me my first win in rebirth
thank god
Well, I couldn't finish off Head Trauma due to shit luck, but I did manage to complete The Tank. If you get the Lucky Rock trinket on that run, you end up so rich you have to imitate Harry Enfield!
