Just had two amazing runs today, one with Isaac where my first item was the inner eye, and where I found holy mantle (I thought you could only get it on angel rooms?) on basement 2. I also found tammy's head later on. The other one was Azael starting with ludovico. Sadly no devil room to sheol on these two, but I unlocked quite a lot of things, including [sp]The cellar[/sp]:suicide:

Hell, I've had Black Lotus 3 separate times so far as Eden. Haven't once found it on a pedestal but hey it's in my collection now. Oh yeah, and Missing No. works too if you can't find yourself a D4 or Dice room, although D4 is the best option since you can use it more frequently. The funniest thing with the D4 is that eventually you'll drain the item pools and you'll reroll your useful items into Breakfast.

Welp, just beated mom's heart again but still no devil room to mr satan. At least I got the wire coat hanger. Is there anyway to guarantee my entry to sheol?

There's no inherent downsides to sequence breaking unless you just blatantly skip the Mom's Heart fight, so have at it if you think you're hard enough.

Some items also make devil rooms more likely, for instance simply holding the Book of Belial greatly increases the chances for a devil room to appear. Even better, the Goat Head increases that probability all the way up to 100%, so never miss an opportunity to take it. Apparently it was what Jesus used to multiply fish and bread to feed the people. It totally makes sense but sometimes I wonder how my brain can even come up with that shit. :v:

Well fuck me sideways, I had an awesome run (holy mantle, spoon bender, dark bum... before caves 1, I even unlocked Samson thanks to holy mantle) get ruined because of my shitty idea of picking up a free dead cat at max health. I got killed 10 times by damn daddy long legs. What items would you guys recomended not to pick when having a really good run?

Never pick the skull trinket.

is it regular damage? if i spam it it always feels weaker than prechocomilk

I kinda like soy milk if it's one of the first items I get.

Pls Azazel stop be so awesome. Made it to [sp]The Chest[/sp] for the first time and killed the boss in about 35 minutes. Only reason why i made it there so quickly was that i grabbed an experimental treatment that maxed my damage and raised my charge rate slowly, but sadly it slowed me way the hell down. Then i got lucky and became guppy, so my ultra-high damage flies did the brunt of the work while azazel's brimstone generated the flies.

Started an Eden run. Rolled Lemon Mishap, attack 2 (rest of stats at 1) and 2 HP. Another wasted run I thought. First item was leech. Soon, got Greedy Friend. Soon, got portable blood bag. Used leech to farm health, used blood bag to drop coins, used friend to turn coins into items. Got a dollar bill, got shitloads of keys and bombs, got so many Luck Up and Health Up pills. But, my tears suck, this will be a drag. Nah, here's Mum's Knife. Plus 2 flies and Bandage Girl. Flew through this run and never looked like losing. The best part is, I recorded it - and since I've started recording my runs my luck has been so much worse it's not funny.

Sometimes the devil room pool is exhausted prematurely when you use the continue feature, although I'm not sure what causes it exactly.

Oh, that explains it. Trying to do chapter 3 and 4 without taking damage, impossible (for me) without abusing holy mantle.

I'm starting to get really bored of Mom's Knife, it tends to show up on every god damn run. Cursed Eye is really fun if you keep in mind that it will only teleport you if you get hit during the charging phase, but not if you're fully charged or not charged at all. I will never miss an opportunity to pick up Soy Milk either, just because it's so much fun. I'd like to get those items more often instead of the usual overpowered game-winning ones such as Mom's Knife, Brimstone and Epic Fetus.

btw if you have shit loads of bombs don't hesitate to bomb pots/mushrooms/skulls/that one weird red shape in the womb they all have items and pickups you can get from them, getting a nickel from pots when you're broke or a all-stat mushroom from mushrooms can really help out a run

I was answering for a really good run scenario, as in having a lot of health, damage and fire rate. Dead Cat reduces all your heart containers to one, so you should only pick it up if you don't have any health containers or less than three and many soul/black hearts. Soy milk will turn your high damage into I ain't even killing little poops damage. It's nice if you get it as one of your first items and get damage ups later, but picking it up after will usually screw you over. Cursed eye randomly teleports you to the previous room when you get damaged, and I don't like getting a boss down to a couple of hits and then get teleported back because I got hit by a random bullet. The same for the Cursed Skull trinket. As I said, I usually avoid chocolate milk later on, if I don't have a high fire rate. It takes forever to fire.

It takes forever to fire.[/QUOTE] I haven't had the opportunity to play with it much but I'm fairly sure Soy Milk applies a damage multiplier and doesn't straight up reduce your damage to the minimum. I've had it multiple times in the Chest and ended up with very respectable damage. If anything I find it more painful in the early floors. Cursed Eye doesn't randomly teleport you, it will always teleport if and only if you are partially charged. Which means that if you're fully charged or not charging shots, you won't get teleported no matter what. So it's not that bad if you can keep that in mind. Chocolate Milk is a straight upgrade and there's no reason not to take it. What you are forgetting is that on top of giving you charged shots, it's also a massive tears up. Just tap the arrow keys instead of holding them down.

Only time I don't pick up certain tear items(which would be tech 1, tech 2, soy milk, dr fetus, cursed eye) is if my damage is super high, chest/dark room worthy. Otherwise I pick up everything. ...excluding tiny planet, there are very few situations I'll pick it up
