New update:
Meet the Bony!
so this weeks enemy tease is actually the 1st enemy in isaac not designed by me.. its was designed by Matt, the lead artist. here is his design doc.

i really loved the simplicity of its ai as well as its look, it fits perfectly into the isaac world, looks bold and is a bit of a challenge.. as you can see here.

one on one in a large room they arent so bad.. but if you end up fighting more it might be a good idea to call in reinforcements! (if you have the option)

next week i hope to start showing the near final look of the game, more effects, details, environmental stuff.. and maybe some larger rooms? who knows!?
I really like that rechargeable projectile deflecting fart in that 2nd image. That looks damn handy.
Can't help but notice the familiar on the 3rd picture is a mix between Brother Bobby, Demon Baby, and the Substitute Doll.
Looks like a damn good item.
Also to follow up on what Postal said, the Bean now has an use ! (And recharges like the Blue Candle)
It looks like the familiar has it's own health
It looks like the familiar has it's own health
It's also moving independently of Isaac. Unless familiars have vastly improved AI in Rebirth, we have seen the first screenshot of the co-op.
item room from that last gif if you were wondering

Is that a bloodied sperm?
Is that a bloodied sperm?
that or a tampon
we have seen the first screenshot of the co-op.
This probably is it now that I think of it.
that or a tampon
Oh right. That makes much more sense.
[editline]29th April 2014[/editline]
BoI is probably the only game in which a used tampon as an item is considered "making sense"
I had always envisioned Isaac Co-op to be much like Gemini.
Isaac moves as he does normally, Player 2 is tethered to Isaac but can otherwise fly over obstacles and shoot as if he were a sentient familiar. The kicker is that while having Player 2 flying allowing them to gather items that were previously unreachable, the two share a health pool, meaning that both of them need to dodge, and the dodging of Player 1 can potentially drag Player 2 into harm's way. Range ups will increase the length of the tether in addition to its effect on tears.
I suppose the tether mechanic might not be fun in practice, but having Player 2 with a vastly weakened separate health pool compared to Player 1 doesn't seem fun either since Player 2 won't be lasting too long to see much action if that's the case.
If this isn't co-op, then what the hell is it showcasing? Familiars with AI and their own healthpool? The fact that he has no use item implies that calling for reinforcements isn't something that ties it to an item, so it should follow that it's co-op, but where is Player 2 playing if he's being called from elsewhere? Isaac doesn't lose health to spawn the familiar either, so there doesn't seem to be a penalty for having someone jump in to make the fights easier.

Is that rock with a bomb in the corner the new tinted rock?

It's probably just a new type of rock that blows up...when you blow it up? :v:

It would be cool if one of the new characters is actually coop mode. P1 actual character and P2 familiar.
But iirc Edmund said that you'd be able to drop in at any time so that won't happen.

I imagine it would be called the "Cherry Bomb". Which was also a thing in South Park: The Stick of Truth, if I recall.

Bloodied sperm cells are actually a thing, and I can see it being that just as likely as the tampon.
It's even more horrifying and distgusting for the affected person, even though it's not really dangerous at all. Perhaps it leaves a damaging blood trail below Isaac?
All in good jest. We aren't talking about that one other guy who ended up crumbling in on himself.

All in good jest, people.

Bigger rooms, ambient effects, and a hidden video.

I'm looking forward to the different sized rooms. Seems like a good way of changing things up and opening up new possibilities.
A big step forward, this game is going to be AMAZING. Hell, I'll buy it the same day it's available this time.
It looks like the purple Gaper has a gravitational pull effect to it; the tears appear to slow down and change direction.

I can't wait to see all the stupidly overpowered item combos you can potentially get.
