Today I learned that picking dead cat as blue baby reduces your soul hearts to 1. That's just bullshit.

Yeah the camera still follows the first player but the second player is no longer dragged along and can freely move around outside the screen. I didn't even have to do anything, it was a side effect of replacing the coop baby with an actual Isaac.
I haven't looked at the way the camera works yet but I'll look into a way to change its behaviour so it tries to include both players on the screen.
Also I'll probably end up rearranging the HUD later but for now I'll probably focus on getting something that works and can be released.

well, i finally bullshitted my way to Mom's Heart for the first time. idk how but I got 7 soul hearts in a row from a fortune telling machine, no joke. i also got technology baby on the first floor and then i got technology 2 on the second floor treasure room.

I wouldn't mind it as much if Carrion Queen was maybe the last or close to the last wave, but no, she's in the second fucking pair of bosses to show up.

Mini-boss drops are predetermined and ignore all item pools.

There really should be some countermeasures to have them spawn alternative drops if you've already gotten your hands on the item already. Although getting multiple of <3, Bucket of Lard, Dead Cat, A Quarter, and Bob's Curse aren't all that bad, it's still a good idea to have something else dropping instead.
This also applies to chest items, which is why people can get multiple of Bob's Brain in the same floor.
Yeah Bob's Curse is fine, more or less. Even if you already had it, that's +5 Bombs you get for picking it up again, which is a hell of a lot better than getting 7 cents and a congratulatory slap on the butt for beating the goddamn Haunt on Floor 1.
However, and this might sound strange, in terms of getting repeat items like Virus, Bob's Brain and so-on, why not take the Risk of Rain approach and have their effects stack? For example, a regular Bob's Brain explodes and poisons monsters, but a "Level 2" Bob's Brain has a stronger damage over time and reduces the self-damage it can deal if you get hurt by it. We already have items that get better when you accumulate multiples of them, case in point the Cube of Meat and Ball of Bandages, so implementing similar functionality to other items wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
Which do you think would be better; alt-drops or have repeat drops be stackable for special effects?

I wouldn't even mind greed always giving steam sale if it stacked when you have multiple, because your second one would make items cost 3 cents and pickups cost 2

By the time you have that many steam sales, there aren't going to be any more shops.
The only time you can even purchase things at that point in the game is if you get an I AM ERROR room that makes you buy the items instead of giving it for free.

I wanted to add this mechanic so you can share coins with your coop partner but then I realized I would need to prevent coins dropped this way from triggering penny trinkets, otherwise it would be exploitable as hell. :v:
Plus it uses its own separate key for now so I don't even know how I'm going to handle this on a controller.

I... i honestly thought that Dark Bum would have tried to sometimes kill you with a knife or something when i picked it up (before patch) so it made me extremely paranoid around him until i realised the soul/black hearts.
Just when i played with the patch up and got Dark Bum, i had to die in the Womb by his spiders with 1 soul heart, agh me.

Which could've been caused by curse of the maze, since it moves rooms around.
but it clearly wasn't curse of the maze lol, you can see the treasure room is linked there on the minimap.

well anyway you can see the seed on the pause menu so you can test that for yourself I GUESS

then you would have been able to see that on the map, but you can see that isaac enters and exits the correct rooms, he doesn't get teleported around
