The new music isn't bad, but it still doesn't feel nearly as memorable as Danny B's music for the original. I think I'll enjoy playing Rebirth a lot and I probably won't feel the music is ever bad or out of place, but unlike the original I don't think I'll ever catch myself humming the tune to myself or do things like lingering at the welcome screen just to let to listen to the main theme for a while.
Ill show you my dingle! Its time to show off a new rebirth boss! well officially and in motion anyway. we kinda teased this guy a bit ago, but now you get to see him in action.. meet the Dingle! i love this lil guy, he is still a work in progress but far enough to tease him a bit. Dingle is one of a few new “poop type” enemies in the game, as you can see he whistles out a little guy to fight along side him, that’s a “squirt”. once upon a time he was called the “pooper”.. but Dingle is such a better name. in other news….. —————————————————————————- a whole bunch of store shit that you can check the actual blog post to read about cause i ain't linking all that noise —————————————————————————- Currently an early version of Rebirth is playable at E3… we are also showing off co-op there. for those of you who cant make it out, next week ill go into great detail on what co-op actually means for rebirth and what you can expect (spoiler: its awesome). ill leave you with the most requested item combo of the last few weeks, brimstone + ludo! NIGHT!
http://bindingofisaac.com/post/88344465539/ill-show-you-my-dingle

my god. it's beautiful! really excited to hear how co-op's gonna work.
Nobody else would make a game where a boss is just a giant poop.
Ahem
I stand corrected.
When you have a Halo of Blood, you know you're in for a good time.
Can't wait for Rebirth. I kind of stalled on BoI after Golden God.

Coop has been revealed in full on the site now: http://bindingofisaac.com/
-co-op is local play only. -co-op IS NOT online in anyway (aka you can only play with someone in real life next to you) -p2 can only join of p1 has more than one container heart. -p2 can steal life from p1 by pressing start, but cant steal any life if p1 has only one heart left. -there are NO co-op related requirements to gain platinum god. -there will be some co-op related achievements. -the game will be balanced so co-op wont be as OP as you would assume -p2 flys, but cant pick up any items. -once p2 dies when they respawn their baby is randomly chosen again. -p2 can leave play giving p1 back their life at any time, but if they spawn back in they will be using the same baby. -its a lot more fun that you would imagine :)
I love what theyre doing with the huge rooms, it allows for so much more flexibility with form and function. I'm honestly surprised theres no release date yet. It looks pretty "done", but then again what do I know.
I wonder what they're doing with the Baby for large rooms. Since it's local co-op, both players should be on the screen, but with large rooms there are 3 things that could happen. Camera focuses on Isaac and the Baby is dragged with the screen as it scrolls around. Camera focuses on Isaac and the Baby is unaffected and goes off-screen. Screen zooms out so both stay on the screen. First option seems most-sane.
The gif with the big room with 3 Larry's suggests option 2.
The gif with the big room with 3 Larry's suggests option 2.
That's prone to lots of fuck-ups. Such as enemies being able to deal damage to the baby when Player 2 has no indicators about the incoming danger, or P2 setting off attacks from offscreen that'll hit Isaac from beyond his vision range. It's best to keep all of the action visible so the players know what threats are afoot.
ill probably end up spawning babies and play both "turn by turn" depending of how good they are or just pray for a full health baby and suicide it
The gif with the big room with 3 Larry's suggests option 2.
The fat grubs are Chub's, but yeah seems the camera remains centered just on Isaac. I like that, would be annoying having the screen moving about as the other player fucks around. Also started playing BOI again. Four runs, won the 2nd and 3rd, and the 4th I was nearly about to win until good old War went off screen and never returned right at the end of the Chest level. Fucking hell I think I'll go back to waiting for Rebirth lol (unless the release date ends up being really far off in which case fuck it).

Clearly it's been months since I've played Isaac :suicide: Yeah, whenever I feel like returning to Isaac it's poor optimization, bugs, and my outright boredom with the old items and formula with the now overly familiar room layouts and such drive me away. Rebirth should be really refreshing in that respect, and it's why I'm so hyped for it.

But a big thing that stops me whenever I get the itch is the poor gamepad support. Or rather, non-existent support. I used to play with a generic gamepad that worked really well, but now I use a PS3 controller as my gamepad, and it just feels off compared to my old one. I could dig the old gamepad out of the closet, but I'm too much of a lazy shit. And this is the only game where the old gamepad was better. I hope the new game is going to be better about that.
But what happens if Isaac dies but the baby's still alive?
But what happens if Isaac dies but the baby's still alive?
It's game over.

Expecting August/September release
ugh only need to get dark/mama's boy achievements to platinum and I just caaaan't....
Expecting August/September release
Alternatively, release in October when all the "OMG creepy games!" phase is going around. Not only give them another month to polish, but that craze could lead to a boost in revenue.

I don't know how it even got generated.
I got those achievements from when there was a bomb exploit that made you invincible huehuehue
It was monday yesterday. Mom's Perfume in action, we've seen it in some press conferences before but never what it did. It gives tears up and instills fear in enemies; causing them to run away from Isaac with the same AI as mulligans. Also, tears that cause status effects will always spawn colored, much like rainbow baby, so you're certain to know which tears are causing the status ailments instead of it being an on-hit chance. We also get a glimpse of these tubby enemies but no real idea of how their AI functions, if they're different from gapers at all. Fear looks like it was ripped straight out of Risk of Rain, complete with placing a small skull above the scared enemy's head. The idea of "avoid player" isn't exactly a completely original idea, but to call it the same thing while giving it the same visual effect is just a little fishy.

Diablo 3, for instance.
