Analysis time some it is pointing out the obvious but shush: Head Trauma, a new challenge. Soy Milk, Iron Bar, Tiny Planet, & Small Rock. Bonus damage, orbiting tears, chance to cause concussion. Iron Bar causes concussion to temporarily disorient enemies. Soy Milk is low damage + high fire rate. Troll baby (co-op player 2) randomly drops troll bombs Analog movement allows slow walking. Secret room can house a recharge for your current spacebar item. Secret room walls stay blown open when returning to the normal room. Dunno if that stays even after leaving that room, but if you accidentally step out of the secret room you can waltz right back in. Ring Flies travel in loops toward you. Similar to how ring worm will work but as an enemy. Shop seems to not contain pedestal items at the start, give the donation machine some love first. Dingle and Lil Pooper take lowered damage from spectral tears just like poop and fire. My guess is that there's a reward or unlock associated with that. Death animation has Isaac keeling over before his ghost ascends instead of him exploding in a blood cloud. Maybe has more animations based on what kills him. I think I nailed everything, tune in next week.
I've played the Binding again some days ago This is the only game I bothered got a platinium on in my entire gaming carreer. The whole thing is worth it just to get one's hands on the D6, which basically makes Isaac the best character to play the game with All of a sudden, I was reminded of my deep hate for the Hoppers (moreso their Leapers variant) and Greed and all his normal enemies variants (Keepers and Hangers). Oh, and the Masks + Hearts deserve an honorable mention too I saw that the Rebirth version will be released for PS4 too. Would you suggest getting it for it or the PC? Truth is I need more PS4 games for my brand new console, but on Steam I'd have some friends to play the co-op with
Truth is I need more PS4 games for my brand new console, but on Steam I'd have some friends to play the co-op with
It's couch co-op.
Its only local co-op, no multi over steam. [editline]19th August 2014[/editline] ffffffff
To elaborate, online co-op is very much considered but was put way on the backburner due to a contractual obligation with Sony regarding the release date. They want to do online co-op, but it'd take too long for them to meet their deadline. If at all, it'd be in a DLC pack at a later date. Whether that would be paid or free DLC is unknown, but Ed seems pretty firm about if anything would be paid it'd be a substantial package of content to make it worth the cost.
Oh, then PS4 it is My friends often pester me about not having any multiplayer games on my console

Shop may be void of pedestal items during challenge runs only, but it might be associated with the donation machine it's hard to tell if it's one or the other, or even both. Dingle might not have a damage resistance to spectral tears and instead is tanky as fuck. When looking at the Monstro boss fight that seems to be the norm for bosses, and given how weak Soy Milk makes Isaac's tears even weaker it's extremely tough to tell if it's a special interaction between spectral tears and Dingle/Lil Poopers or not. Starting room seems to not tell you what buttons do what just yet. And it makes no mention of the new map/drop shit/swap trinket button. Starting a challenge run with items no longer has Isaac holding them above his head to clue the player in on what they have. Kind of a silly design decision considering base Isaac has done that forever even in normal runs to show players that they start with X item. It's still unfinished so that may be subject to change Red spikes roll around the room in the same manner as guts. We get our first in-action instance of a less-than-4-entrance room. The layout reflects how it's impossible for a door to exist on the left wall. These types of rooms may become helpful for finding where the secret rooms are. If the pattern from the previous game carries over and these rooms help in locating secret rooms, the top secret room would've been north of that room.

Anyone else prefer the original's aesthetic to rebirth's?
I originally did but as time as gone on and more effects and better lighting etc. has been added its grown on me.

It isn't Isaac but this is probably the best place to put it. Team Meat's new game is A Voyeur for September, a "a live action stealth game". But this is probably just an ARG for a new Meat Boy game, because A Voyeur for September is an anagram for Super Meat Boy Forever.
Would be great if they released Mewgenics already.
Yeeah, it's on hold apparently.
Part of me wants Judas to be stripped of the Book of Belial and instead start with the Necronomicon as he was originally planned. My justification is the same reason that I am a bit sour about Maggie and even Isaac. The use item makes a big deal about the character (except ??? for obvious reasons). The Book of Belial is downright awesome and is seldom replaced unless you find something that fills a utility niche once you feel satisfied with Judas's raw damage output. Many Judas runs are going to pass up almost every use item you come across, which limits the amount of variety in runs. Isaac has the same issue once you get the D6 and it becomes more about min-maxing than it is about taking all the lumps and turning any weird combination into a potential gamewinning run. It's one of the reasons why I enjoy Cain and Samson, they're not really bound by a use item that's so good that it's too good to give up. Maggie on the flipside has a use item that quickly becomes less and less useful as you get further into the game. Until you reach a point where you no longer have it and the run becomes "Isaac with less speed and more health" and later in the game you'll have accrued enough upgrades that it really is indistinguishable from an Isaac run; nothing that defines Maggie really stands out once you part with the Yum Heart. Judas always has his high damage and benefits greater than other characters from damage ups, Cain is always lucky and has good damage, Isaac is well-rounded, Eve always benefits from injury and has higher odds of finding soul hearts, Samson always benefits from kills, and ??? is so functionally different from the other characters. Anyway going back to Judas and the Necronomicon. The Necronomicon is okay, it's not downright amazing but it's not bad either. It won't carry you to the end of the game on its own but it lets you mix things up when you do find things you'd rather have given the circumstances.
I love Edmund's Q&A site. It lets people ask such great and well thought out questions

That's pretty much a bloody nuke.
Fucking love the item combinations in Rebirth. UNNNG I NEED IT
I don't like where Isaac is holding items when using/finding them. They're smack dab in the center of his face, completely obscuring his brief smile from our view. There's something oddly satisfying about seeing that short happy face before it returns to the tortured frown we see him with all throughout the game. Even the starting room still has the graphic with the item held high above Isaac's head instead of on his nose.
Anyone else prefer the original's aesthetic to rebirth's?
At first I didn´t like it too much and preferred the old one, but after looking at the new design more I´m starting to prefer retro style isaac.
Still feel the music is mediocre compared to the original
Why didn´t Danny return anyways? Is it because he was busy with something else or is the reason unknown?
Why didn´t Danny return anyways? Is it because he was busy with something else or is the reason unknown?
He's doing the music for Crypt of the Necrodancer, so I don't know if that's related.
Still feel the music is mediocre compared to the original
I think the music is great, but some of it doesn't fit as well as the previous soundtrack.
