I turned into guppy for my first run and beat mom. I hope this is setting me up for a better experience.

I still got it! Beat [sp]mom[/sp] on my first ever try on Rebirth. Unlocked Lazarus (somehow, do those black hearts count too?) and a bunch of items. Faced many new enemies and just one boss was an original one (Monstro 2, who can't be tricked anymore by the way). It looks and feels so much smoother, so much better.

This game is making me BSOD for some reason, can't play more than 20 minutes of it.

Brimstone effects are fucking amazing now. Charge animation looks smooth, attack sound is great and the laser itself FUCK it doesn't combo with worm trinkets as far as I know

OH FUCK [sp]went into a devil room to get some more black hearts for my ceremonial robes, ended up picking up BRIMSTONE BY ACCIDENT. now all I have is these two USELESS BLACK HEARTS and BRIMSTONE[/sp]

And beat mom on try 2 (no magnets this fucking time), on hard. And holy shit I got like 10 achievements and 15 unlocks for it aaaaaaa

I played just once and I managed to beat Mom on my very first try (we will call this "experience", althought the items I found weren't too shabby either: I even morphed into Guppy) Regarding the graphics, while I was a bit sceptic about the new pixel art style, I think that, while not exceptional, it works just fine. It's also worth mentioning that the flirter option does very little to make everything more defined I have still to adjust myself to the fullscreen mode and the extended room: I used to play the original game windowed, you see. Aside from that, everything seems fare more fluid One thing I love so far is the audio overhaul. While I still love Danny Baranowsky's work with the original game, Matthias Bossi is no slouche either. The sounds effects overhaul also help make the various enemies, if possible, even more disgusting Gameplay-wise, I believe Rebirth offers the same deal from Wraith of the Lamb: while it introduces some new ... annoying features, it also gives you plenty of new ways to break the game. Granted, I've only played a single run, but the chance you may face an exact copy of the boss you are currently going to bring down (and I got FUCKING PEEP) and those damn stone head that keep crying blood immediately come to mind I was able to get several achievements in a row too. On the same subject, some new mechanics make the game a bit easier (I can't see the purpose of the black hearts, for instance) All in all, I'm satisfied
