I've literally only ever come across Money=Power in Devil Rooms, and never on runs where it would actually have been useful, such a tease
I've literally only ever come across Money=Power in Devil Rooms, and never on runs where it would actually have been useful, such a tease
I find Mom's Knife and the two Fetus Jars way more often than I find some of the other crazy-good items like Sacred Heart, Money=Power, or Polyphemus. Hell, I hardly find normal items like Cupid's Arrow, it's always the same items being chucked at me: Book of Revelations, Relic, Nun's Habit. I get it, the game wants me to be alive long enough for it to actually try to kill me in the Chest, but it'd be nice if there were a bit more variety between my runs.

Holy fucking shit
Hot damn I want that map right now [editline]30th April 2013[/editline] Connecting to the server they gave in the video, this shit looks really fun
Just played it, it's awesome
By the time I downloaded the map the server wasn't on it anymore, so right now we are just spamming map votes until it shows up in the list

So I made this I guess.
Looks kinda like that Homestuck stuff in terms of the graphics style. Or maybe that MSPaint Adventures thing; IDK, I don't follow them as much as most folks do.
Like I said, I don't follow them as much so IDK.
So Bloat decided to be the boss of both Necropolis and Utero in the same run. Fuck you, Bloat.

Need odd mushroom and crystal ball for platinum god and they just wont drop :(
Need odd mushroom and crystal ball for platinum god and they just wont drop :(
Make sure you recall that the Crystal Ball is only from Fortune Tellers. For best results, use Cain, as less of your money will go to waste. Try to avoid making purchases for things unless they can help your finances. Treasure Map is usually worth a buy, as the secret rooms will usually pay for it (and some of the secret rooms house Fortune Teller Machines, which you'll need to play if you want the Ball). Quarter is a no-brainer purchase. Avoid picking up Bum Friend since you're going to want to spend all the money you can get. For the Odd Mushroom, you're going to want to abuse the shit out of the D6. Each time you re-roll, you're removing items from the pool, which makes it even more likely to get the one you want. Nun's Habit makes it especially easy if you have health to spare. If you find the Rusted Key before you get to the Mom fight, I'd recommend holding onto it and hope you get Mom's Purse. This way, you're way more likely to find chests as drops in the Chest. All chests in the Chest, locked or not, contain pedestal items. It's crazy-easy to farm for the item you want if you can manage that. Be wary that it's possible to crash the game if you get very greedy with this, especially if you have an item that can spawn drops like IV Bag and then you turn the D20 on all of them, turning many of them into chests which all contain pedestal items. Aside from utterly breaking the game, just hope you get lucky with your D6 rolls. It took me weeks to find Little Chubby, and then he showed up in every single run for a solid week after I found him.
Say, if you are doing avatar requests, any chance of a Colin Mochrie version of Isaac? Possibly in the similar tux design to my current avatar.

Oh, I was doing them a year ago, but I forgot to edit that out of the quote. I can still do one, but I can't draw for shit, all of them were done using in-game sprites. Sorry.
Actually, I may take you up on that offer. We'll see.
Apparently Nun's Habit got hit real hard with the nerfstick in version 1.5, which is only available through the physical copy of the game but not through Steam for some reason. Instead of 2-hits per charge, it's 1 hit per room necessary to charge. Ie: an item that takes 3 rooms to charge (like the D6), will need 3 hits to fully recharge. I imagine that the nerf will carry over to Rebirth, so prepare yourselves for a less-easily abused mechanic when it finally comes out.
Actually, I may take you up on that offer. We'll see.
[t]http://puu.sh/2QZOA.png[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/2QZOI.png[/t] I had to rush it, as it's midnight over here and I'm sleepy, but since I couldn't make the hair look right I uploaded a Hair and Hairless version. Also, when I wake up I'll probably want to improve it, so if you don't like it, tell me what I can do to fix it up, yeah? Cheers. And this is pretty good practice aswell, though I have a bit of shame in uploading those doodles; they look rather sloppy. Edit I'm sure in the morning I'll punch myself for posting this stuff but right now it seems like a good idea
Looks alright; seems a bit too big for avatar size, but it's neat anyways. Though one of the scars seems to be partially on his left eye.
accidently picking up the tick in the last room of cathederal is far more fun :)
damn that's harsh as hell. For me it didn't help that it was the first run (and what a run it was) i've had with the polaroid, and I've never been actually able to get up to the chest yet (It wasn't dropping for ages for some reason even when I'd beaten isaac with 6 different characters and the title screen showed the completed picture)
Any way i can work out what secret im missing, im 2 off, assuming one is the platinum god.
This run was fun: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/1DzMx5h.png[/img_thumb]
This guy's voice is so soothing. Plus I learned a couple things I didn't already know. Worth a watch if you've got the time.
I'd like to dedicate this victory to The Poop. [sp]lolnotreally. The D6 carried me all the way through the game, I exploited as much as I could using the Battery. In preparation for exploiting the Chest's mechanics, I found a number of Luck Down pills until I got a chest drop in every room. A Portable Slot Machine and D20 find in the Chest led me to get a bunch of chests in the room before ???. The Poop was among the passive items that spawned. Since no other spacebar items were charged, I just opted to carry it into the boss's room for shits and giggles.[/sp] Also, fun trick I learned. If you find Greed in a secret room and have sufficient bombs to make it happen, you can leave and re-enter after beating Greed/Super Greed (but leaving a hopper/trite/keeper in the room) to fight him again and again. If you have the D6, you want to keep doing this until enough Steam Sales/Quarters spawn to make rerolling them effectively give you every single secret room item in the game at once. If you have the D20, just do it until you think there are enough coins lying around to satiate your desires. Of course, this requires either a lot of bombs, a limitless supply of explosives [Ipecac, Fetus in a Jar, or Kamikaze (which can be exploited to take zero damage if you hug the wall)], or X-Ray Specs. But dammit it pays out well. Nothing like finding Ahnk, 1-up, Raw Liver, and Spider Bite at once. I haven't seen the Bite or Liver in a long while, so it's a nice way to force it.

Worth a watch if you've got the time.
This guy's runs are ridiculous, I've never had such luck playing as Blue Baby before.
I had a really amazing Samson run while my internet went out. First item room is skeleton key. Do poorly until I get to Cellar 2's devil room, trade my 1 health to get the Dead Cat and Whore of Babylon (it cost me 2 lives). I live into Catacombs 2 until I find raw liver in the secret room. I take the IV Bag from the arcade. Pick up Technology 2 in Depths 1 (regret decision immediately afterward, as I thought it was Technology 1). Devil Room in Depths 1 allows me to nab both Guppy's Head and Guppy's Paw in one fell swoop. Accidentally leave the Devil Room with the Paw instead of the Head. Either way, I'm running entirely on Soul Hearts now. Gamble a lot in Depths 2, get a full fly orbital shield around me from my winnings. Curse Room in Depths 2 contains Guppy's Tail. Tear everything a new neck until I reach the Chest. First chest contains Polyphemus, ??? didn't stand a chance and I was still holding Guppy's Paw because I didn't find any better spacebar item. Of course, the fact that I was Samson had little impact on how well that run went, but I just play as him to enable "hardmode."
Finally able to get a not so shitty run with Blue Baby in order to get the D6 for Isaac.
