So the womb-themed secret room forces hearts spawned within it to spawn as full red hearts. This ensures that the hearts contained within it are to the room specifications.
However this affects player-spawned hearts once you're in the room. And when the player forces a specific type of heart to spawn, the room overrides that and makes it into a full red heart. Don't use Heirophant inside these rooms, but that's not the point I want to make.
Bring Dark Bum into this room and watch him consume and poop out an endless supply of red hearts. Thankfully the hearts are queued up so he'll start to spawn soul hearts normally if you leave the room and let him do his thing.

I remember complaining earlier, thinking that [sp]The Lamb[/sp] was the true new final boss, which was a super anticlimactic fight from the video I saw.

If you use it while Azazel (or flying presumably) it instead makes you dash really fast across the screen. Very useful.

Azazel's short range brim is based on what character you are. Ankh respawns you as Blue Babby, so you lose that and gain tears back.

he's kinda superpowered as soon as he spawns, but you can't actually increase his range as far as I know. You can just be lucky and find Brimstone in a devil room/curse room etc and replace your tears with that

Got a bug earlier, found a huge dice room that re-rolled my Azazel, he was no longer demon form so his head didn't have the appropriate animations for me to tell when Brimstone was charged or not :x

His base damage and flight ability makes him OP from the start.
The problem is that you're gonna get items that are complete garbage/useless on him (ex. range increasing item) more often than items that actual has great synergy in some way (ex. Quad shot is stupidly overpowered on bosses with him, though not very good in crowded rooms)
There's no real way to fix the range, you can only compensate by having items that either negate or diminish the impact of the near inevitable damage you'll take from being close to certain enemies.

I just had quite possibly the most powerful character I've ever had in this game.
Read on for item spoilers:
[sp]-I had the cat item set
-I had refillable pill bottle and PHD, so half the time I would get the 48 hour energy pill and recharge my bottle to get 2 more pills.
-More balls of steel than a Duke Nukem soundboard.
-I had 12/12 soul hearts for most of the run, with a devil beggar companion turning regular hearts into soul hearts for me.
-I had max attack range, speed, and damage.
-I had technology 2, but somehow I picked something up that let me shoot big white tears out of the top of my head as well, and then I picked up some glasses that made me shoot those white tears in pairs.
-I had x10? lives.
-Had the goat head protecting me from above, and the infamy mask protecting me from 50% damage in the direction I face. Also had gimpy giving me a soul heart every 1 in 3 hits I took.
-I had a big fucking posse of minions following me too.
I one-shot mom, two-shot mom's heart, and killed satan without doing anything more than holding down the up key.

So, I played very little of the original game. Before this run, I'd beaten Mom twice (once a cheap Bible kill for my first win) and Mom's Heart once. I was streaming for a friend to show him Rebirth (he was a veteran of the original), and picked Isaac. Got an XL level.
It got a out of hand right off the bat after I picked up the Wafer and the Holy Mantle in the Basement, and then the Pope hat, the Gnawed Leaf, Infamy, PhD, the goat head, the torn photo, and a ridiculous number of soul hearts and a growing real heart stock. I'd refused devil deals since I was getting holy items from the start, and this turned out to be a great idea.
I'm a newbie, fairly, still. However, thanks to the wafer and per-room shield, and the Book of Shadows, I got both Basement Boy and Spelunker Boy (cleared basement and caves with no damage) as well as unlocking Eve and Samson.
Then I got Leo and things just got insane, because I got into three trap doors, two of them retro treasure rooms. More importantly, one of the rooms with an expanded devil shop and a trap door down to the next level.
The only mistake I really regret is not bringing a Judgement card with me to Mom, because TWO were on the floor, but I hadn't noticed that beating mom seals the room except for the exit into The Womb, because I got yet another angel door then (getting the angel item that gives you flying + spectral tears).
So, I'm already on an amazing run, and I hop into The Womb. First room, after killing the enemies, I smash up the rocks, and, heeeey, trap door! I hop into it, retro secret room leading into a shop and trap door. Aww, fuck yes, screw you, Mom's Heart.
I went and cleared the floor and then hopped into the hole. Got bosses and mini-bosses in most of the rooms, but I was more or less unstoppable.
I had never gotten to Satan before, and I had never spoiled myself, so I had no idea what I was in for. I didn't even dip into my red heart container reserve, although he did trigger all four of my devil hearts.

I had more items than could even be displayed in the box. I had about four Luck Ups by the end, and it showed. I didn't even realize what the Gnawed Leaf did or I'd have abused tanuki power and the run would've been even more broken -- I would've had no damage from Satan.
Brimstone is by far the best item in the game.
And with the crazy sorts of synergies it has with some items, it takes it from extreme to outright OP since you can make bosses die in one hit.

So, Found a pretty weird combo now. I got [sp]Robo Baby 2.0, which you can control with the arrow keys to move around, and autofires at any enemy[/sp], and [sp]Chewed Leaf, which lets you go completely invulnerable after standing still for a second, and you'll be invulnerable until you move again[/sp] making it so that I didn't have to do anything at all...
