I had a terrible start to a Azazel run. By the time I reached the depths I had 1 heart container and Bob's Brain. Then I found Guppy's Paw in a devil room, and then I found the soul converter in a shop. Beat the Sheol first try.
Thank goodness for badly designed items.

I don't think it's badly designed, the odds of getting both of those on the same floor is pretty low, and more HP on its own won't win a run for you.
Plus it makes you feel like a cool guy.

Earn a devil deal, but don't take it. That makes Angel Rooms possible.

This piece of shit is worse. At least with bloat you know that you shouldn't stand in his cardinal directions because of non-telegraphed brimstone. But this fucker just pops right under you like nobody's business, congrats you're hit

Not at all, all his attacks are telegraphed. Move three times when he's grunting or dodge when he makes the :3 face or whistles

I had trouble with his dashes until I realised he just heads directly for you and literally moving perpendicular to his charge direction at the exact moment he dashes makes it super easy to avoid
he always spits three projectiles directly after his whistle, and he telegraphs his normal spit move anyway
that's literally it, you just keep moving
I have more problems with the gurglings

He keeps taking away at least 1 1/2 heart when playing as ???? so it's pretty fucking annoying when you run into him. I know his patterns and all that.
Managed to get Dark Boy and Mama's Boy in the same run as Maggie. Praise be to the holy mantle! I could have also gotten one for Sheol (if there's an achievement for it, I have no idea) but the first phase of Satan trapped me in the corner and took two hearts down.

Dingle and Gurdy Jr are most annoying with their dashes, If you don't get them to dash in certain angle you end up having horrifying bouncing enemy at your hands.
For the record, the Bloat becomes a bit easier once you know that he can't fire his brimstone-like stream while you stay behind him (he will shoot it downward)
So, I've beat [sp]satan[/sp] in rebirth twice now. How do I progress from here? It only gives me an ending.
