Yeah well the game looks somewhat fine, but jesus christ the mouse... It feels like your shit is emulated, like you actually plugged your mouse in a PS3 or something. Fucking retarded.
It got a little better by manually disabling the mouse smoothing. It still feels bad. It feels like the game is translating your mouse movement into analog stick movement. Like Ubisoft was too fucking lazy to include proper mouse support.
Got some mad ghosting with the last NVIDIA drivers. I'm also using SLI. Was thinking it was in my end, but apparently it's global. Jesus fucking christ can i play a game in decent conditions for once ?
So how bad is the mouse control at the moment? I've been thinking of picking this game up but I stay the hell away from anything with unfixable mouse acceleration and whatnot.
Just wait for one or two more patches. I don't think the mouse issue will be fixed though, i heard it has something to do with a lazy ass port and not using DirectX properly and whatnot. And lazy people are usually the last ones to admit their lazyness and fix what they did.
Do you eventually unlock attachments for weapons, or do a lot of the weapons just not have attachments?
Most of them lack attachment slots because they have modded up counterparts in the signature weapons section which you're encouraged to buy. Vanilla Far Cry 3's singleplayer had this same problem with certain weapons and from what I can see it's even worse in Far Cry 4 since there's so many more of them.
Its pretty pathetic considering FC3 had tons of weapon mods just disabled for no reason, like silencers for various weapons (Shotguns) and tons of mods for the AK47. Well, time to wait for a mod to come around and unfuck this, part of the fun in a game like this is freedom, and modifying my weapons to be able to do new tactics is part of that.

I guess the idea was that the guns in SP were meant to represent a linear progression in power, with the AK being the 'worst' in class for assault rifles due to its stats and not being able to take any attachments compared to the rifles on the second island which you're intended to trade up to. The mods for FC3 which brought the weapon customisation in line with the multiplayer proved that design choice to be a bad one in my opinion.
Yeah, its stupid that they bothered with a linear design like that, to be honest. While power is important, power does not need to be a direct path from low to high, power can be telling the player that they have a wide array of beautiful weapons that all function in unique niches with tons of mods to enable them to do whatever they wanted. (There is also other forms of empowerment that I won't get into) The game is not like some sort of RPG where I can see why those systems are place with upgradable weapons. Either way? Oh well, wait for some mods to fix it I hope. [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] Infact not to go on a tangent but, within that idea of linear upgrading, some weapons worked by pure niche in FC3, so it really just confuses the hell out of me.
I've been flying around outposts with a buzzer and that sidearm grenade launcher playing Flight of the Valkyries in the background as I blow away everyone before they even get the chance to set off the alarm. I've never laughed like a maniac while playing a game until now. So much fun is being had.
So what's up with the Helicopter? It's height right? It doesn't run out of gas or anything?
So what's up with the Helicopter? It's height right? It doesn't run out of gas or anything?
Yep, it starts going berserk when you go out of the map / you're at a certain altitude.
Yep, it starts going berserk when you go out of the map / you're at a certain altitude.
I've had a lot of hilarious moment with this, like getting shot by a sniper in a bell tower while the thing is going berserk, then bailing out in midair and deploying the wing suit while the buzzer fell on a guard below. I pushed the buzzer like a lunatic trying to get to the north part of the map early, I wanted to see how far I could get. I was actually able to keep the thing stable enough and high enough that I was still much higher than the top of the bridge when the barrier rejected me. It was spinning around madly and dropping and jerking all over the place and had a hail of gun fire hitting me. The game is genuinely a lot of fun, performance and control issues aside. I've not really had any major bugs, certainly nothing like falling out of the world or the like. [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] Also, do I need to go fiddling about in a settings file to disable the alphatocoverage setting?
My car.. [vid]http://shoar.org/file/2014-11-19_17-26-19.mp4[/vid]

Anyone UK here and would like to Co-op with me this weekend?
The animals in this game are awesome. I exited the safehouse at one of the outposts and there was a fight going on. I go to it and before I could even fire a single shot at any of them, 2 elephants came along and rammed the car that the army soldiers had arrived in, sending it flying and killing the lot of them. They then casually walked off like nothing happened. [t]http://i.imgur.com/oXtIpBS.jpg[/t] Then later on, I saw a crazy honey badger charge into a group of golder path soldiers, managing to kill one of them before it was killed.
Anyone UK here and would like to Co-op with me this weekend?
Yeah sure.
Then later on, I saw a crazy honey badger charge into a group of golder path soldiers, managing to kill one of them before it was killed.
I got one of those random karma events to save a bunch of hostages and kill the guards. When I got there I was looking around for the guards but I couldn't see any, but I was still losing hostages for some reason. I get closer and watch this honey badger execute the last hostage and make a dash for me. "What the fuck?!" Turned out he had killed the guard as well. 5 people murdered by a honey badger.
I remember the first honey badger I encountered was coming after me and I unload like a whole cylinder of bullets into it before it died. Don't fuck with honey badgers man
Honey badgers just don't give a shit.
Holy shit, they're all speaking Hindi. The language that's supposed to be my mother tongue, and yet I can only understand the swearing. (So I know all I need to of the language, see?) Okay, maybe not just the swearing. When you here someone say something like "Jeldi Karo!" What it literally translates to is "Do it fast!" but in that context, more like "Go, go, go!" When you hear someone saying "Choot" or "Chootiya" it's a Hindi expletive, colloquially meaning basically the same as 'dumbass', though it's derived from the word for 'vagina'. In India, it's a relatively mild insult, like calling someone 'bastard' in the US or Canada today. That said, said certain ways it's more, uh... insulting. I'm pretty sure I heard "Maaki Choot" which is basically "Mother fucker" Will probably update for shits and giggles the more I play and hear. It is uncanny to see a game focused on what's essentially the culture in some parts of India. The gods/deities, places and people named are all fictional, of course, but the language and the general feel are the real deal. Makes me feel a little homesick. The names? Mostly Hindu names, Ajay included. It's kinda neat.
Hey guys, is the story any good?
Hey guys, is the story any good?
Aside from the main character being the lord of the go with the flow types, basically doing what he's told to do with hardly any objection, it's not bad so far.
As obnoxious as they are, ohh my god this mission for Yogi and Reggie is amazing and I love it.
How does co-op run? Haven't had the chance to try it yet.
shangri-la is pretty cool all right
"Yes, yes i've heard the rumors. They are nasty, they don't give a shit," All the badger related missions are awesome. Also the map is WAY bigger than it looks based on that map they released. So far the game is a huge compliment to Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon, a worthy successor imo. They just have to work the kinks out.
As obnoxious as they are, ohh my god this mission for Yogi and Reggie is amazing and I love it.
The first one is great, but I really wish the developers hadn't made more. Pretty much loses all of its charm after the second mission. edit: Last mission is cool as well. I wish the ones in-between were as creative.

Then my friend goes in the water. This fish, still on land, turns around, hovers over the land and goes back into the water just to chase my friend. It was the most horrifying thing I ever witnessed.
Okay so, my FOV slider doesn't seem to do anything... I bought the game through steam and the slider is definitely there, but it doesn't seem to do much. When I put the FOV slider all the way up the game just kind of zooms out and then back in to whatever it was before I changed it. Is this a bug?
spoilers [sp]Does Pagan die he's fucking awesome and secretly like the best character here unlike FC3 I feel like I'm playing for the villains[/sp]
Has the mouse acceleration issue been fixed yet? I tried the game out on my computer and the mouse movements make me incredibly nauseous.
