Doing this and running in borderless windowed mode fixed it for me
I've been running in Borderless Window mode with these set the whole time, so I never noticed the issues.
Next gen game my ass. I would rather have the game full screen. And no, the aspect ratio or the resolution is not configured wrong. It just annoys me that stuff that should work out of the box simply doesn't. Like changing the key-bindings may break certain actions. Example: Change the key binding of aim (default: right mouse button) to any other button and you won't be able to climb ropes even though you climb ropes with left mouse button. Why would anyone change that? I'm just an old-fart used to weird key-bindings but that's not really the point. Overall I do really like the game but it's small quirks like this that really kills it for me.
am i the only one that's irritated that the gun is mirrored the wrong direction? it seems like it's the only one
I've been running borderless window with all that crap turned off and I still have acceleration issues. Even if that did remove the issues, they should still fix their damn game. It shouldn't have been a problem in the first place.
I was thinking that putting it on borderless would work, but my screen gets messed up when I do, it completely zooms the game in a lot, and I can see only about 1/4ths of the screen. anyone have a fix? This is a shot of what it looks like when switching to borderless.
I figured out what was wrong, had to go to Nvidias control panel and disable all of Nvidias DSR options in the 3d games settings.. for some reason even if the dsr option isnt picked in the game, when you hit borderless window, it tries to activate dsr for some reason and zooms in x4. Also borderless seems to fix my mouse acceleration issues now.. I dont feel like I'm playing with some kind of fuckin heart disease now.
I love the amount of placebo tweaks for the mouse problem. Sadly they stay what they are : placebos.
I love the amount of placebo tweaks for the mouse problem. Sadly they stay what they are : placebos.
Turning off acceleration on the menus definitely works and so does smoothing on the .xml. I think there's just a lot of people calling it mouse acceleration when they're actually experiencing some kind of delayed or jittery input, and unfortunately you can't fix that with most of these tweaks.
While the thread is for 4, I have a question for 3. Does anyone else's CPU go to 80c while playing?

None of the fixes helped, but finally im snapping from point to point like in counter strike after switching to border less, seems to be using Windows mouse input or something when full-screen is off. Also if you can't tell if mouse acceleration is still on or not compare the in game looking movement with your menu screens mouse movements. Menu screen doesn't have mouse acceleration for some reason.
I just noticed that stealth is broken. You shoot someone with a grenade launcher during a stealth mission people, get suspicious but don't sound any alarm. You hurt someone with the first shot with a silenced weapon and kill them with a second shot (they detect you but don't have the time to make any sound or take any action) everyone knows exactly where you are and they activate the alarm. Dafuq! I'm going grenade launcher all the way now. Don't see any point of using silenced weapons.
This makes me sad. It's mouse acceleration by definition: small movements are precise but with bigger movements crosshair moves MORE than your mouse. (that's positive acceleration I believe, not negative)
Wait a sec ? Am i daydreaming or is there no way to skip these godawful, cringy cinematics ?
While the thread is for 4, I have a question for 3. Does anyone else's CPU go to 80c while playing?
My gpu goes to 84C when playing FC4 this game is really badly optimized ive got loads of settings turned down to archieve 60+fps on a evga 780ti classified while 60fps is even to low for me 70+ is mininum but im enjoying this game so much in co op that I cant seem to care to much thankfully. FC3 ran at 150fps maxed out.

Anyone can explain or point me to a link, cause all i'm getting when i look for it is various forums complaining about it in various games.

Bah, why does this game only have one save slot?
Advice for people interested in the game : stay away from this steaming pile of fucking shit. For now. 1. Stuttering. Can be seen in the Totalbiscuit video about the game ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M25Le3JdHH8&list=UUy1Ms_5qBTawC-k7PVjHXKQ#t=653 ), affects close to all users, and is a massive pain in the ass when you're travelling the lands. 2. Mouse issues. Sensivity is all kind of fucked up and doesn't feel like it should. Since videos can't really make you feel that, i won't bother doing one. 3. Pitch black shadows / glitching shadows. Happens randomly. Maybe related to SLI, maybe not, but it's fucked up anyway and good luck trying to spot anything in this shit. [vid]http://s1.webmshare.com/34jNz.webm[/vid] 4. FOV glitching out. Happens randomly. FOV is locked up at a very low value and you can't modify that unless you restart the game. I guess performing certain actions ( like breaking radio relays ) that have a low FOV by default will sometimes glitch out and fuck up your values in the process. [vid]http://s1.webmshare.com/ZNxmy.webm[/vid] 5. Impossible to skip cutscenes, impossible to skip cinematics, impossible to skip intro logos, impossible to skip anything. And the game loads a cutscene when you start a mission, not all of them, but you get the idea. You can roll your face on the keyboard, same result. Very fast SSD ? Same result. And a shitload of other issues. I'll keep this post updated once i have enough footage to produce other webms. Also don't try to Ubisoft Marketing Team trick, aka you have issues you probably pirated the game ! All of this garbage is from the retail version, last patch and last NVIDIA drivers.
pitch black shadows would be a dual gpu thing. i got them once trying a certain crossfire profile. mouse problems can be fixed by editing the config. fov locking isn't happening to me. intros are skippable with -skipintro in the target [editline]23rd November 2014[/editline] i'm not defending it i'm just saying some of these things are fixable
Running fine for me, other then the mouse acceleration which is easily fixed. I recommend buying this game, it's really fun.
I'm finding it hard to believe that my gtx660 i7 3770 will struggle to run this game even on low
1. Stuttering. Can be seen in the Totalbiscuit video about the game, affects close to all users, and is a massive pain in the ass when you're travelling the lands.
Have noticed this once or twice in my 15 hours of playing so far.
2. Mouse issues. Sensivity is all kind of fucked up and doesn't feel like it should. Since videos can't really make you feel that, i won't bother doing one. I've read that it was an SLI issue.
4. FOV glitching out. Happens randomly. FOV is locked up at a very low value and you can't modify that unless you restart the game. I guess performing certain actions ( like breaking radio relays ) that have a low FOV by default will sometimes glitch out and fuck up your values in the process.
The only time I've noticed fov fucks up is when using the mortar or as you said breaking radio relays. they should fix this ASAP.
Sucks that you can't skip cutscenes but Its not impossible to skip the intro. Start with -skipintro and it wont show. I'm not saying the game doesn't have any problems its just not as bad as you try to make it seem. I mean you say "stay away from this steaming pile of fucking shit." The game is great most of the time the issues it haves is bearable since the core game is so damn fun.
Any fixes for the horrible stuttering while driving the landscape?
pitch black shadows would be a dual gpu thing. i got them once trying a certain crossfire profile. mouse problems can be fixed by editing the config. fov locking isn't happening to me.
No and no - shadows were pitch black for me and a steam friend (fixed by using SSAO instead of HBAO), we both have single GPUs, and config editing does nothing for the mouse. From reading various Far Cry 4 mouse problem threads I feel like it's a placebo for people who say it "fixed" the mouse
3. Pitch black shadows / glitching shadows. Happens randomly. Maybe related to SLI, maybe not, but it's fucked up anyway and good luck trying to spot anything in this shit.
I had this problem while messing around with graphic quality settings, I just set everything to ultra and it fixed itself, must be a bugged setting or something. some people reported that setting DisableLoadingMip0="0" to 1 in the GamerProfile.xml fixed the stuttering for them. I don't know, go for it. the only gripe I've got with this game is that whenever I'm driving a car, the game autosets the saturation to like 100%, and then I get out of the car and everything's lost its colors. other than that, fun game.
Any fixes for the horrible stuttering while driving the landscape?
A few, but none that have worked for me. Worth a shot. http://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/2mt8fy/nvidia_users_who_stutter_in_far_cry_4_everyone/
-skipintro The game has it's problems for sure, but this is a steaming pile of shit is very much uncalled for. This launch has been a rather stable one. All because you are experiencing issues doesn't mean everyone shares the same issues, half the things you are complaining about can be fixed by you.
I can't see anything when it's at night so I have to rest till daytime the shadows are pitch black Patch plz
I can't see anything when it's at night so I have to rest till daytime the shadows are pitch black Patch plz
Turn off HBAO and see what happens.
Turn off HBAO and see what happens.
But don't report back if it fixes it for you because this guy will scream PIRACY!! at you.
But don't report back if it fixes it for you because this guy will scream PIRACY!! at you.
Uhhh no. If you have no FOV, or if your chopper spazzes out of pirated be the game. No need to be a dick about it. I could give a rats ass what you pirate, I simply find it funny when people complain about issues when their pirated unpatched copy isn't working properly. Simply trying to be helpful you jerk.
God damn it. I really want to like and enjoy this game, but it's proving to be quite impossible. I have a 780ti and my machine struggles to keep a steady framerate, and my Nvidia display driver just seems to crash at random for no reason. I've had to restart the game several times and watch the annoying startup cinematics, as well as wait for the loading screen, only to be plopped in the outpost that I was last in, no matter how far away I was from it when the game crashed. I seriously hope this shit gets fixed, this was one of the few games that I was looking forward to playing this year. Don't get me wrong, barring the annoying mouse acceleration issues and seemingly weird enemy hitboxes, this game is a blast when it works properly. But I just can't give this game a positive score for the moment because of the bugs on release. Literally every game that I have bought this past year has been plagued with bugs during the first week (or several) after release. It's sad that unfinished products and bug-ridden games are the norm now. Back to playing Skyrim for now, I guess.
