You do have a point there, i'll give you that.
All the Far Cry's have good map makers. Hopefully Elephants should be useable in the Multiplayer because why the fuck not?
That would be game of the year right there.

The one in highwind017's picture is a .577 I think. I remember seeing the video.
And there is nothing wrong with it. A ledge grab animation does not need to be remade, a plant does not need to be remade, a run does not need to be remade. They only need to be remade if specific requirements are not met, or quality is lacking.
Do not redo what is fine. You are wasting time, money, and man power.
1.) We totally do need more ledge-grav animations though. Have you bothered to climb all those radio towers? Shit gets repetitive, yo.
2.) I'm aware they shouldn't be a requirement, it's just strange how everyone seems to bring it up when they're attacking games like CoD or Battlefield, but they leave it perfectly alone when it comes to things like Far Cry and Half-Life 2's episodes.
tl;dr we need more climbing animations and re-using content shouldn't be a point of attack or absolutely acceptable depending on if it helps your case

I like this dude.
He has less boring clothing than Jason.
Y'know, I'm really wondering how the co-op's going to work in terms of story and shit. Who's the other guy going to be?

Ubisoft Montreal actually went to Nepal to find inspiration for their new setting. Article here is a pretty interesting read:

So can we put to bed this whole "white man saviour pt.2" thing?
He's asian, in an asian country. Also, he looks a lot more fit for the whole mercenary thing then Jason Brody did.

What are you talking about? Surely if you can jump out of planes with your rich friends you can lead asymmetrical warfare against a group of pirates and kidnappers and retake an island? Surely being a rich white kid gives you all that firearms knowledge?

Taking on forest critters is just one of the highly exciting two player scenarios requiring precise teamwork to succeed.
Far Cry 5 should take place in the Balkans.
If there's one thing they can do to tidy up the reused animations, it's to transition them better. It gets annoying after a while when there's a second after the vault animation completes before you can move and turn your camera again. Same with ledge pull-ups; it feels clunky to be completely constricted until the animation is finished.
Also I found it p silly how you stop in mid-air when you jump onto the ledges with the ropes wrapped up on the edge.

Dude, that's a fucking honey badger. You need an army.
Looking at all the new assets, the new map editor is shaping up to be awesome
the 1911 looks like an airsoft gun
why can't they just have it look more traditional? they should have skins affect more than just camo patterns. i hate it when they take classic guns and try to tac them out. it just looks tacky.

It's based on a Kimber warrior not a classic 1911.
Isn't it just the exact model from Far Cry 3?

You know what's worse than constricted vision? How many fucking times you see the same animation when climbing some of the distant higher-level towers.

knowing how all corners of ubisoft reuse assets as much as possible, I wouldn't be surprised in the least
I hope it has more dialog. Sneaking around and hearing the same thing is really silly. "I should have used the rubber!"

and good audio quality. can't forget that about fc3: everyone's voice quality sounded like they came out of a super nintendo
Let's just hope this game has actual enemies to kill in free roam.
There is a mod for FC3, called Mega Island, which fills the island to the brim with enemy patrols. It's fun as hell, because it actually makes you feel vulnerable, you'd rather sneak around them than engage in battle.
I hope the main character is more interesting than Jason. Someone who isn't just a random douche who can somehow outgun a bunch of pirates who've been fighting for years.

you can read the premise of the game here http://www.gameinformer.com/games/far_cry_4/b/xboxone/archive/2014/06/13/the-face-of-evil-a-look-at-far-cry-4-controversial-villain.aspx
major plot points (SPOILERS): [sp]Ajay Ghale is the protagonist, whose father is Mohan Gale. Pagan Min is the crazy, blond-haired , drug lord antagonist who installed himself as the king of a small country. Mohan fought against Pagan in a rebellion, and both Pagan/Mohan were in love with the Ajay's mother, Ishwari. Ishwari chose Mohan over Pagan; Mohan then died during the war and the rebellion failed, so Ishwari moved to the USA. Ajay returns to the country after his mother dies to scatter her ashes on the country's tallest mountain.[/sp]

I used to call him Tatoo McFratboy
And in FC3, at least it began well. At first he's horryfied to see his brother die, and is like "Oh shit oh fuck" when he stabs the first guy, but afterwards it's like "meh whatever".
It's like they gave up on developping him after the beginning.
I hope they improve the healing animations. It was weird to bandage the same scratch ten times in a row. Strangely enough there were way more in FC2.
And the whole "Bite a bullet off an arm after falling off a rock" thing

it'd be awesome if it had lone survivor style damage systems. far cry would be the perfect game for it
or at least just make your arms/body get progressively more cut up as you progress through the story so by the end you just resemble a train-wreck and it's a wonder how you're still standing
[editline]3rd July 2014[/editline]
except ofc everybody knows far cry now just follows the same old gimmick year after year after year

That's true but on the other hand, FC3 (and FC4 for that matter) are First Person Shooter games, the fact that the main character is shocked from being thrust into a situation that he deems really fucked up works for the first moments of the game, since you know, that's what is also happening to you, as the player - you're beginning the game and you're as confused as the player character (well not really, since Far Cry 3 is not probably many person's first FPS) so from a character standpoint it makes sense to have the player character reflect that but later, when the game starts to ease you in, the game stops telling you what you're supposed to feel and instead you become the player character, in a sense.
For me, personally, it wouldn't make sense that the main character is still going all "OH THE HUMANITY" as he shoots pirate #100 in the face if my character is still going to be essentially a faceless goon in the game where the object of the game is to shoot countless dudes in the face, a vessel that wouldn't even really need an appearance since I, as the player, am expected to assume his role.
The system they had in Far Cry 2, where you get to actually pick your main character in the beginning works just as well since you don't really ever see your character anyway, other than the arms and it actually created some replay value for the game since the different characters had the order of their missions play out differently, had access to a different set of companions and that sort of thing.
That said, my only real wish for Far Cry 4, aside from more respawning enemies, is for Ubisoft to ditch uPlay on PC, at least in the Steam version, but that's never going to happen, is it ?
