Uhhh no. If you have no FOV, or if your chopper spazzes out of pirated be the game. No need to be a dick about it. Pitch Black Shadows were also a bug of the Pre-patched version.
Pitch Black Shadows were also a bug of the Pre-patched version.
I'm aware, and in some cards HBAO still causes that. So does SLI.
Changing the AO settings fixed the super dark shadows for me.
[editline]22nd November 2014[/editline]
that was on the pre patch though
Actually, stuttering is effecting mainly AMD users, it does not effect close to all user.
I own a NVIDIA card. So does Totalbiscuit in the video i linked, with his two Titans. You tried, though.
All because you are experiencing issues doesn't mean everyone shares the same issues
All of these issues are also reported massively by other users, hence my post. Stop defending a broken product just because you bought it. Especially with such wonky arguments as " its not the game its your computer xD ! ".
you can fix that in INI
Placebo tweaks 101.
half the things you are complaining about can be fixed by you.
Having do disable things or play with one GPU instead of two is not why i call a fix. But hey, if you're perfectly fine with lowering your standards to play a product you bought, fair enough. But don't get surprised if you start eating actual shit in three years flat.

I'm aware you have and TB have an Nvidia card, many Nvidia users aren't experiencing stuttering, some are. But many AMD users are.

Didn't say it's not the game it's your computer, it's definitely the game. A game that just came out, with no major issues. They worked their asses off on 2 major patches and completed it before release and now they're working on the next patch, the game came out 4 days ago! Not every issue can be fixed

Lolwut, calm down.

But you do realize that's still placebo? What's the point of saying "hey I fixed it" to yourself when it's not?

SVD is too. Guess people at Ubi like having hot brass shot in their faces.
I just played to the point I entered the North of Kyrat, and I have a few theories RE: Mohan Gale's death. Though to be fair, by this point you've all but been told what happened. Tell me if I'm right.
[sp] Mohan Gale killed Lakshmana, then tried to kill Ishwari and Ajay. Ishwari killed Mohan in self-defense, then fled the country. Ajay's sister was Pagan's daughter with Ishwari. [/sp]
Am I close?
So is this game worth getting on PS4? I'm not too interested but my dad was asking me about it.
I have a feeling that this game is more optimized for amd users. I personally got a hd7950 and a intel 4th gen cpu and I easily run this game on very high/ultra settings on 1080p (without AA btw).
Does this game really feel this unoptimized for you guys? For me its not that bad.
some people reported that setting DisableLoadingMip0="0" to 1 in the GamerProfile.xml fixed the stuttering for them. I don't know, go for it.
I can confirm this fixed stuttering for me. I have none at all now. The issue comes from the game loading high-res textures every single time you turn around and this makes it stop this nonsense.

I have the same card as you.
I agree. It runs fine.
Stuttering exists for some and doesnt for others i've noticed.
I'm getting it badly even on a fresh install while others arent. and it doesnt matter anyones settings.
Hopefully a community member finds a fix.
What do you guys recommend for minimizing this mouse acceleration? I bumped up the sensitivity and set all the acceleration and smoothness related values in the xml to 0 but I heard from some people that other values might help. I'm mainly just having trouble switching targets quickly when aiming down sights.
Hah, this game is interestingly written I have to say. Ending spoilers.
[sp]Throughout basically the whole game, from almost the very beginning you see Pagan as a unambiguously evil dictator, until the very end or the very beginning with the secret ending. It makes sense with the information you get from Yuma. Pagan always was fucked up due to being involved in mob activities since the start of his Life (since his Father was a drug dealer) and is no doubt a morally "different" person, but what fucked him up beyond repair is the murder of his Daugher by Mohan, and the loss of both Ajay's mother and Ajay (which speculatively he might have seen as adopted son) since they escaped to the US. Even though he's such a deranged person, if you aren't following the Golden Path blindly and actually talk to Pagan at the end of the game or just take the secret ending into account, for even though he's fucked up he appears to care about his Family, since his plan from the start was to allow you to spread the ashes and pass the country and crown on to you.[/sp]
It king of reminds me of Spec Ops the line how [sp]the game makes Pagan look like the stereotypical unambiguous big bad and then throws this written above at you at the very end or actually the very beginning - it start to make sense when you take both into account.[/sp]
So yeah Far Cry 4 is generally decently written (although for the most part it's just a filler to BLOW SHIT UP YO) but that part was actually a pretty fucking awesome surprise. Seems like the the writers are pretty good at writing characters, looking ad Vaas from FC3, although it seems like they don't bother with more ambitious writing regarding most of the game and that might be both good and bad, because maybe that's not what you want in a game about essentially fucking shit up. Although that aside, the atmosphere of both FC3 and FC4 can be really fucking great sometimes, you can really see the horror people being powerless and abused, cruelty is sometimes really well portrayed. And judging by how this is a ambient aspect of the game, I'd say it backs up the theory that the writers don't want too much story to get in the way of the fun, though personally I wouldn't mind something different then the Oppressed vs Oppressor scheme. The Oppressor in this case was a bit more different since Pirates and a Regime isn't the same although it could have been done a bit better. The Oppressed side on the other hand is almost the same - in both cases it's some kind of rebelling cult.
I feel like there's a conspiracy by big game devs right now to force PC players to buy current-gen consoles by intentionally releasing horribly optimized PC ports (if they release PC ports at all). By making their games practically unplayable on the modern PC but making them playable on the modern console, if someone really wants to play their game, they'll have to buy themselves that console.
Considering the rather lukewarm reception of the PS4 and Xbone, I'm not surprised that games like Far Cry 4 are allowed to be released in such a horrible state. It's the least Ubi can do to try and save what they can of the console market by cornering and punishing people for playing on PC and making them either give up and re-buy the game along with a console or simply not buy it.
Food for thought.

I like how you still [sp]can kill Pagan if you let him live at the dinnertable, when he flies off in the helicopter. When the game put me back in control with a rocket launcher aimed at his helicopter I felt like it was testing me.[/sp]
negative mouse acceleration literally illuminati confirmed
Makes sense, i said before that the input feels exactly like a controller and by now i got used to it, they're just preparing us for the switch.
By the way it seems that acceleration is now almost completely gone, and is now comparable to using the ingame menu mouse as well, after changing it to borderless, setting mouse smoothing to 0 and mouse accel's to 0,
you gotta change GPUMaxBufferedFrames="0" to "1"..
As soon as I changed that shit, my brain stopped hurting while I was aiming around.
Fun part of the game:

I actually did that. Figured at this point he's FUBAR anyway.
I wish you could then [sp]Kill the leader off the Golden Path and take everything for yourself.[/sp]
Also still awaiting expansion/standalone where the hidden ending is the start of the game.
So I'm glad to report I haven't even bothered to download this (il)legally.
Can't be arsed. Played at a friends house, and it's the same old rehashed shit all over again.
No thanks. Also, obligatory fuck you Ubisoft.
Lots of glitches and bugs. Goddamn mouse acceleration sucks.
Don't care if you can fix it in the .ini settings.
I'm just tired of paying money for this kind of crap.
Can anyone guess what I learned you could do?

Is it abnormal that my 780 has trouble reaching 60 FPS on very high and can only manage 30-40 on Ultra? I'm not using TXAA either.

Same GPU and performance here, although I wouldn't say we're underpowered. I think it's the optimization.
My 570 is choking trying to play this game.
GTX 660 TI Here, i have everything but water on ultra (Using HBAO+ And SMAA) and surprisingly enough it runs at stable 60 FPS.. except textures since i had to lower that to medium to avoid horrible stuttering

I pretty much have to play on low and I have a GTX660 and a i7 3770, what the hell.
Edit:
Ok what, suddenly I can play everything on Ultra except having to lower/turn off ambient occlusion and AA.
